Cremer was the standout bowler and he ended up as the only bowler to have leaked less than 6 runs-per-over (barring Raza who bowled only one over). Their batters now have a big task in hand. Rahane: "We batted pretty well, we thought 160-170 would be a good total on this wicket. It became a little slower as the game progressed and the bowlers did well as well. This wicket was slightly easier to bat compared to the ODIs. Overall, it was a good batting performance."
Chigumbura: "We were outclassed all-round today, especially with the bat. We lost the plot after 6 overs. We gave away 10-15 more, the wicket was two-paced. It was difficult to play some of the strokes. It was mainly on the batting side that we were disappointing. We lost wickets at regular intervals. The Indian bowlers bowled well. We'll try and play good cricket on Sunday, hopefully it will be a positive result for us."
For the tourists, Bhuvneshwar Kumar started well upfront while Sandeep Sharma exposed his nerves by conceding 15 runs in his first over. Axar Patel brought all his Indian T20 League experience into play as he bowled with good control and claimed 3 top-order wickets. Despite late blows from Madziva and Utseya, the hosts couldn't get over the line as it proved to be too late. This is also India's first T20I win since 2014 T20 World Cup. They played just one game before today though.
Zimbabwe's chase was well set by their openers Chibhabha and Masakadza who managed to put up a 55-run stand in 8 overs. The duo batted with good awareness and were pretty harsh on the bad balls. From 55 for no loss to 68/4 - that's where the home team lost the match. Since the departure of openers, they never looked like winning the game with the visitors picking wickets at regular intervals. So, that meant, Zimbabwe have now lost 9 successive T20Is at Harare.
