Mitchell Starc ruled out of India Test series

Australian fast bowler Mitchell Starc has been ruled out of the rest of the Indian Test series with a stress fracture in his foot.

Starc suffered the injury during the controversial 2nd Test between India and Australia.

The pain refused to subside and after heading to the doctor’s, scans revealed a fracture in his right foot.

Team Physiotherapist David Beakely stated,

We made the decision to scan his foot in Bangalore this morning and unfortunately it has revealed a stress fracture. Subsequently, this means Mitchell will be unavailable for the remainder of the tour of India and will return home to Australia to start his rehabilitation.

This is the second injury to strike the Australian camp after Mitchell Marsh headed home from the series due to an injured shoulder.

Marcus Stoinis was named as the replacement for Marsh but no replacement has been named yet for Starc.

This comes as a huge blow to Australia as Starc was a key bowler in their lineup and crucial to their victory.
