Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) - IPL 5 Analysis Royal Challengers Bangalore, or Chris Gayle Support Cast as they are popularly known
as, didn't get off to a good note with a 7th place finish in IPL 1. However with more money to throw around than anything else they set about rebuilding the team and the
result is for all to see. Runners up, 3rd and runners up in 3 IPLs in a row now. Yet they haven't gotten the success their owner covets. This IPL they didn’t manage to make it
to the knock-out stage. A batting line-up that was dependant on the Jamaican giant fell apart in the must-win game. Though AB and Dilshan did play some good knocks,
Virat Kohli's indifferent form meant that RCB were a foreign players dependent side.

Hits:Chris Gayle:Undoubtedly IPL's most explosive player. This West Indian single-handedly took RCB to a 5th place finish. He secured 5 man of the match awards in this year's IPL and on an average scored more than 30% of the total score of the team in every match. Not much has to be said about his performance in this IPL. His stats do all the talking. R Vinay Kumar:15 matches 19 wickets. Bought by RCB for USD 1000000, Vinay Kumar proved to be a pretty handy buy. His stats are pretty good and consistent. His average of 25.26 is worth mentioning. He picked up wickets and kept the runs down. Flops:Saurabh Tiwary:To be fair to Tiwary he used to come in either with the team in trouble or in the death. But he didn't manage to rescue RCB nor provide any kind of big hitting. His match conversion percentage is 0 and a consistency of 10%. He definitely did not deliver what was expected of him. Surprises:KP Appanna:His 4 wicket spell against RR surprised everyone. He was an unknown entity for many till he rolled his arm over. After that match, he played 6 more games and picked up only 2 more wickets though. He still was an impressive find for RCB. Harshal Patel:KP Appanna:His 4 wicket spell against RR surprised everyone. He was an unknown entity for many till he rolled his arm over. After that match, he played 6 more games and picked up only 2 more wickets though. He still was an impressive find for RCB. Performance of our Darkhorses:Arun Karthik & Sreenath Aravind:Both our predictions got only one match each and couldn't do anything of note. Our predictions for RCB players was apparently way off target or the owners were blind to their potential. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
