With its games all but over, its chances to enter the play-offs depended heavily on other teams. As luck would have it, CSK scrapped through to the play-offs. And once, it arrived in the play-offs, Dhoni and co. were nothing short of spectacular.

The man from the Caribbean Islands was in prime form for CSK with bat, ball and on the field too. Few spectacular catches, many scores of immensely valuable 30s and 40s at the consistency ratio of 37.50% and an average efficiency of 100.70% proved why he has been rated so highly in international cricket folklore.

The man who scored 400 runs per season every time he wore yellow had been lacklustre throughout IPL-5.

Faaf du Plessis:

George Bailey:
He was our second dark-horse; sadly though he did not get many games.
