This was a match that was actually sealed a lot earlier than it looked on the surface. The game hung in balance with both teams trading blows till the 4th over of the second innings, after which Gambhir and Kohli broke the stalemate and took India decisively towards victory.
Sri Lanka actually ended their innings on a high of 55%, suggesting that their batsmen had done their job by giving the team a more than par chance of winning. That India didn't fall below the 60% chance of winning mark after the 8th over gives an indication of the extent and impact of the two batsmen's domination.
