Sri Lanka welcomes Pakistan for a long tour comprising of 2 twenty-20s, 3 tests and 5 ODIs. The tour will commence with a twenty 20. The first leg of this tour will commence at Mahinda Rajapaksa International Cricket Stadium, Sooriyawewa, Hambantota.

 

Pakistan has been playing quite consistently throughout last one year and has been in the news for all the right reasons. Misbah has formed this team and made sure that it plays as one team. Now he has stepped aside and Hafeez- the professor has taken over from him. Like always, Pakistan is looking strong in the pace bowling department. With Umar Gul, Sami,Tanvir,Yasir Arafat in the squad, Pakistan seems potent on experience and skills. Afridi and Ajmal will take care of spin.

 

On the other hand, Sri Lanka throughout last one year is having a mixed bag, few wins here and there and few defeats that it would have surely done away with. Batting line up for SL looks more settled. With Dilshan,Mahela,Chandimal,Sangakara,Mathews and Tharanga at its disposal, SL shall be a formidable side at home. The bowling line up has ever so hard working Kulasekara and maverick Lasith Malinga.

 

The two twenty-20s shall set the tone for the remainder of the series. And although a bit too early as few might say, the teams shall be looking ahead to these 2 twenty-20s as a preparatory step for the T-20 World Championship.
