cow-analysis

The carnival season has just begun. And Chennai welcomes one and all to its den. Let the whistle podu run wild. It has been electrifying here in Chepauk. IPL-Season 5, the champions from Chennai and MI have set the ball rolling. MI won the toss and decided to bowl on this newly laid Chennai pitch. MI meant victory right from the start of its fielding. There won’t be a better man than the CSK opener Du Plesis who could vouch for that. He was run out by Rayadu. Barring Raina and 19 balls wonder Bravo no one looked comfortable as CSK tumbled down to 112. Levi, the new MI boy showed us why he is the player to watch out for. 35 balls 50 and the opening stand of 69 runs made sure that MI cruised to victory which eventually was sealed on the 5th ball of 17th over. It’s Mumbai Indians for today and for CSK, the whistles can wait till the next match.

cow-key
  (CSK) - 20 overs maximum

arrow 4 overs: CSK 28/1 CSK 48% CSK began quite sedately. An early run
out of Du Plessis and a Test match mode M Vijay meant CSK’s COW was going only one way. It moo-ed down 1%
arrow 8 overs: CSK 69/2 CSK 49% Suresh Raina was back to his best. He
along with the Dwayne Bravo steadied the CSK boat. They lifted CSK’s COW by 1%
arrow 12 overs: CSK 84/4 CSK 46% 2 wickets in these 4 overs and only 15
runs scored, saw CSK’s COW moo down to 46%
arrow 19.5 overs: CSK 112 CSK 34% A dramatic collapse thanks to some tight
bowling and poor running between the wickets meant CSK relinquished their hone advantage. Their COW stood at 34% at the end of the first innings.

  (MI : Target 113) - 20 overs maximum

arrow 4 overs : MI 34/0 MI 78% Mumbai LEVItated. A rollicking start.
34 runs in just 4 overs. MI’s COW immediately jumped up by 12%
arrow 8 overs : MI 69/1 MI 90% MI lost Levi, but not before he scored
a quickfire 50. With the little master still at the crease, MI’s COW looked fat and healthy. It was up to 90%
arrow 12 overs : MI 87/2 MI 97% Sachin retired hurt and Rohit Sharma
was back in the hut. But it was a case of too little too late for CSK. Rayudu and Franklin were steering MI to victory.
arrow 16.5 overs: MI 115/2 MI 100% A dominating performance MI begin
their campaign with a thumping win. 8 wickets left and still 19 balls to go, MI romped home and sent a stern warning to the rest of the teams.
