KOLKATA: Former Indian cricket captain Sourav Ganguly says MS Dhoni should rest a bit before the upcoming tour of Australia as he has to be fresh for the team's long series Down Under.

"The true test of captaincy is outside India. But I think the time has come to give a rest to Dhoni. He played a lot of cricket. He plays all versions of the game. He deserves a rest," Ganguly said in an interview to a Bengali channel Star Ananda.
