West Indies got off to a great start as Simmons and Barath negotiated the Bangladeshi attack with ease as they reached 67/0 after 15 with 51% COW when Barath retired hurt. Samuels joined Simmons and suddenly runs started flowing as they started finding fence regularly. They both scored fifties as West Indies reached a commanding 217/0 after 41 with 58% COW. Double blow in next over didn’t really slow them down as they ended with 298/4 after 50 with 66% COW. Bangladesh got their strategy all wrong as they tried to save wickets but they struggled to score runs as they reached 116/1 after 27 with 29% COW. But the RRR was spiraling out on control and 3 wickets in 3 overs didn’t help as they stumbled to 130/4 after 30 with 22% COW. Shakib’s valiant fifty was just for the records as Bangladesh ended with 258/7 to lose by 40 runs. |
