Man of the Match: R van der Merwe Uppal, Hyderabad (25 September 2011)
cow-analysis

Bisla came out swinging everything but he and Gambhir fell in same over as KKR stuttered to 21/2 after 3 with 47% COW. Kallis and Tiwary resurrected the innings with a steady partnership but the RR was never too impressive. When Tiwary fell KKR, at 74/3 after 13 with 38% COW, looked likely to end with a subpar score but a brilliant late rally by Kallis and Pathan saw them post 161/3 with 51% COW. KKR picked up Trego early but that was their only success for a while as Trego and Van Der Merwe absolutely hammered their bowling to all parts as they raced to 107/1 after 10 with 77% COW. VDM raced to a hurricane of a fifty and by the time Shakib’s brilliance got rid of both of them it was too little late. Somerset cantered home with 2 balls to spare.

arrow 5 overs: KKR 34/2 KKR 50% Bisla came out all guns blazing
and smacked few around but then he and GG fell off consecutive deliveries as KKR scored 34 off first 5. This saw their COW dip by 2% to 50%.
arrow 10 overs: KKR 62/2 KKR 45% Kallis and Tiwary set about
rebuilding the KKR innings but their slow scoring actually hurt KKR as they scored just 28 runs in this period. KKR’s COW went down by 5% to 45%.
arrow 15 overs: KKR 113/3 KKR 48% Tiwary’s wicket brought the beast
aka Pathan to the crease and suddenly runs started coming freely. KKR scored 51 runs in this period to increase their COW by 3% to 48%.
arrow 20 overs: KKR 161/3 KKR 51% Kallis and Pathan continued their
onslaught on the Somerset bowlers as their partnership helped KKR accrue 48 runs in the last 5 overs. KKR managed to raise the COW by another 3% to end with 51% COW.

  2nd Innings (Somerset : Target 162) - 20 overs Maximum

arrow 5 overs: Som 58/1 Som 64% Somerset lost Jones early but
that turned out to be a great thing as Trego and especially VDM launched into the bowling as they racked up 58 runs in this session to raise COW by 18% to 64%.
arrow 10 overs: Som 107/1 Som 77% Trego and VDM continued to bat
with disdain as VDM notched up a brilliant half century as they raised 49 runs in this period. This session saw Somerset’s COW go rocketing by 13% to 77%.
arrow 15 overs: Som 130/4 Som 85% Shakib al Hasan produced two
moments of brilliance to remove the two but it seemed to be too little too late as the 23 runs in this period were enough to raise Somerset’s COW by 8% to 85%.
arrow 19.4 overs: Som 164/5 Som 100% In the end it was all a formality
as Somerset needed just 4.4 more over to score 34 more runs and register their win over KKR.
