Pakistan suffered a double blow and slid to 20/2 and then soon to 34/3 with 36% COW as they failed to emulate their last match’s performance. Hafeez still continued his good run with another fifty but Umar struggled to bat at the T20 rate as Pakistan stuttered throughout the innings to end with 141/7 with 38% COW. At this point Zimbabwe had every chance to pull off an upset. They got off to a decent start with 28/0 after 4 but it soon turned to 43/4 and then to 72/6 after 13 with 26% COW. Taibu and Chigumbura started a fight back as they smacked the ball around and got themselves close to the target before Chigumbura fell with Zimbabwe at 110/7 after 17 with 54% COW. Just 3 runs came off Ajmal’s next over as Utseya struggled but with 20 required off 6 Taibu brought it down to 6 off 1 before the dot ball sealed 5 run loss.
