After losing Chibhabha early Zimbabwe went in to a shell and by the time Sibanda got out they were just 38/2 after 14 overs with 38% COW. Masakadza and Taylor batted too cautiously and their super slow fifties meant that when their partnership was finally broken Zimbabwe had reached 142/3 after 38 with 33% COW. Zimbabwe tried to accelerate from here and even smashed 83 runs off the last 12 overs but they could only muster 225/6 with 43% COW. With the RRR of just 4.52 Pakistani openers Hafeez and Farhat played without taking any risks as they raised their century stand with Pakistan reaching 101/0 after 22 with 68% COW. Both went on to register their fifties before Hafeez decided to step up in pursuit of a century and his brilliant 139* saw Pakistan romp home by 10 wickets with nearly 8 overs to spare. |
