cow-analysis

KKR and MI met to decide who faces RCB in the second qualifier for a spot in the final. Bhajji took out Gambhir and then MI pacers ran through KKR top order as they collapsed to 25/4 after 6 with 37% COW. RTD finally got a chance to show what he is capable of and his brilliant unbeaten 70 along with supporting innings from Pathan and Shakib helped KKR recover from a disaster to post 147/7 with 42% COW. Blizzard then did a Gayle with a swashbuckling fifty as MI raced away to 71/0 after 7 with 68% COW. 4 wickets in next 6 overs brought MI down to 104/4 after 13 with 69% COW but the low target meant they were always in control and despite it going down to the last over MI never looked like losing it as they reached home by 4 wickets with 4 balls left.

cow-key
  1st Innings (KKR) - 20 overs Maximum

arrow 5 overs: KKR 19/3 KKR 39% Lot of poor starts going around in this
tournament, it seems, here we have another one, this time Kolkata lost batsmen to what seems like sheer boredom. Kolkata’s chances decreased by 9% during this period.
arrow 10 overs: KKR 49/4 KKR 35% With the top 4 providing a combined
total of 15 runs, the middle order showed some spine starting with Pathan and ten Doeschate. Kolkata’s chances decreased by 4% during this period.
arrow 15 overs: KKR 102/5 KKR 38% Ten Doeschate, Pathan and Shakib al
Hasan made merry as Kolkata left their poor start behind and began this new innings under an assumed identity and fake passport. Kolkata’s chances increased by 3% during this period.
arrow 20 overs: KKR 147/7 KKR 34% Ten Doeschate played an innings of such
class that a newspaper headline writer probably thought of using the headline “going dutch” before dismissing it as silly and Kolkata got a total that seemed mildly defendable. Kolkata’s chances increased by 4% during this period.

  2nd Innings (MI : Target 148) - 20 overs Maximum

arrow 5 overs: MI 51/0 MI 64% A ballistic innings by Blizzard got
Mumbai to a very dominant position, now if we could only avoid a cheesy Blizzard related headline. Mumbai’s chances increased by 6% during this period.
arrow 10 overs: MI 87/2 MI 66% Blizzard went and Rohit Sharma got out
without facing a ball but Mumbai were in a position too dominant to be affected by these setbacks. Mumbai’s chances increased by 2% during this period.
arrow 15 overs: MI 120/4 MI 75% Minor hiccups along the chase for Mumbai but
it would take a minor miracle for Kolkata to snatch this match from their grasp. Mumbai’s chances increased by 9% during this period.
arrow 19.2 overs: MI 148/6 MI 100% Mumbai seemed a bit dazed and even
allowed the required-rate to near 8 at a point despite the great start thankfully Harbhajan Singh saved the day. Mumbai won by 4 wickets.
