cow-analysis

With RCB in red hot form and KXIP struggling to stay out of the bottom half this match’s result seemed to be a foregone conclusion but COW predicted that KXIP had a chance of upset. Didn’t seem that way then Valthaty’s little cameo came to an end with KXIP at 25/1 after 4 with 46% COW. This united two Aussie southpaws with a generation gap between them and this day they decided to fill this gap with runs. From 41/1 after 7 with 44% COW to 232/2 after 20 with 69% COW. A blazing century for Gilly and a quickfire fifty from Mr. T-20-Consistent Marsh saw KXIP turn the match around. 233 was a huge task for RCB, with or without Gayle. It got tougher without Gayle when he fell for a duck and rest followed him as RCB collapsed under the pressure of the RRR to be all out for 121 in 17 overs,

arrow 5 overs: KXIP 30/1 KXIP 43% Paul Valthaty consolidated on his lead
of the orange cap but Gilchrist and Marsh struggled to get going. Punjab’s chances decreased by 6% during this period.
arrow 10 overs: KXIP 99/1 KXIP 55% Woah, Gilchrist just went ballistic,
forget his age, forget his form, this was a master display by one of the most destructive batsman of all-time. Punjab’s chances increased by 12% during this period.
arrow 15 overs: KXIP 173/1 KXIP 64% This innings had no bowlers, no
fielders, just spectators who watched the ball race to boundary as Shaun Marsh joined the party and launched Van der Wath for a 30 run over, frankly this was like 16 year Shaun Marsh batting against an 8 year old Mitchell Marsh. Punjab’s chances increased by 9% during this period.
arrow 20 overs: KXIP 232/2 KXIP 69% Who would have thought a 200 runs
partnership would be possible in T20’s. A lot of noise was made about the altitude and short boundaries but any team would struggle to score this much even on the Everest Base Camp. Punjab’s chances increased by 5% during this period.

  2nd Innings (RCB : Target 233) - 20 overs Maximum

arrow 5 overs: RCB 27/2 RCB 21% Bangalore’s X-factor Chris Gayle edged
to slip for an anti-climatic 7 ball duck , Tiwary followed and Punjab was comprehensively on top . Bangalore’s chances decreased by 10% during this period.
arrow 12 overs: RCB 84/5 RCB 1% The altitude was of no help to Banga-
lore who looked like they were batting on the Dead Sea, and de Villiers apart, Dead Sea reflected their batting quite nicely as well. Bangalore’s chances decreased by 20% during this period.
arrow 17 overs: RCB 121 RCB 0% The last 3 wickets took 4 overs but
that had absolutely no impact on the final result as Bangalore was well and truly trounced. Punjab won by 111 runs.
