KKR and DC had contrasting fortunes with same result in their first matches. While KKR managed to lose a match that was in their pocket, DC were crushed by RR. Batting first Bisla’s struggle neutralized Kalli’s prime innings and when Bisla’s misery finally ended KKR were 5/1 after 9, their COW unchanged at 53%. Kalli’s fifty was complimented by Gambhir, Tiwary and Yusuf with quickfire innings as KKR rocketed to 163/4 with COW of 59%. Tough chase got tougher as another magical run out and Jaggi’s short painful knock saw DC slump to 17/2 after 4 with COW of 35%. Their stars Sangakkara and JP got out cheaply a Chipli found little support from the lower order. Kallis pouched 4 catches as DC struggled to clear the ropes and despite late cameos they ended 9 runs short.
