After being humbled by Zimbabwe, India took on their overplayed opponents Sri Lanka as slight favourites. A slow start by Sri Lanka and a couple of wickets saw India’s COW jump past 60%. But Dilshan and Mathews dug in to keep them going with fifties. No one else listened to the Coach and Sri Lanka were unable to capitalize on the base provided by their partnership. 3 run outs proved to be deadly as SL ended up with just 242 runs and a COW of 44% despite some big hitting towards the end. India too lost 2 wickets by the 10th over but Rohit Sharma with another century and Virat Kohli’s fluent fifty meant the Coach had nothing to worry about. India’s COW crossed 60 in 29th over and never went down. India won by 7 wickets to restore some pride.
