2nd ODI: Sri Lanka v New Zealand (Winner: SL)
NZ 192 (B Watling 55, L Malinga 35/3, A Mathews 36/3) lost to SL 195/7 (U Tharanga 70, K Mills 41/4) by 3 wickets.
Man of the Match: U Tharanga

New Zealand and Sri Lanka headed in to this match at fairly even odds but New Zealand continued the trend of horrific starts and were 47/3 in 11th over. They did somewhat recover to 97/3 by 22nd but regular fall of wickets saw them slide to 123/7 and eventually to 192 all out with only Watling and McCullum responding to Coach’s call. Sri Lanka started their inning with their COW at 70% and despite early wicket they maintained the status quo right till the end despite tumbling like dominos towards the end. Thankfully Samarweera kept his cool to take them home quite uncomfortably with just 3 wickets left. Contributions from Tharanga, Sangakkara and Samarweera meant that the Coach was not completely disappointed though they did miss out on a bonus point.
