(contd.)

2. They are good pace-changers, visual-breaks as we call it in TV. T-20, considering ODIs will be dead, can never provide the visual relief...a 'day at games' feel, something the boards, players, viewers, and (not the least of all) TV channels will value. And we know, everybody wants more than one item on the main course.

3. With more and more 'league' formats developing, the 'playing for nation' may not remain as 'given' as it was earlier. In such times, Test Cricket may remain the exclusive platform for such ulterior motives of sport.

4. Test Cricket, unlike T-20, puts almost no burden on infrastructure. (And i mean more than Cheergirls here.) As per an informed guess, a single T-20 game's budget exceeds a Test Match's...and i know that's by choice. But the point is - if same stadium, same players can earn more for boards in the day-time, playing the oldest form of game and keeping the legacy alive too....i don't think anybody will mind.
