   Match Scorecard
Man of the Match: M Johnson Pallekele International Cricket Stadium (10 August 2011)

Following Australia’s capitulation to spin bowling, SL were favourites for this one. But they couldn’t have been more wrong. They got off to a good start with Tharanga and Dilshan putting up fifty run partnership as SL raced to 58/1 after 10 with 55% COW. That’s where the match turned as Mitchell Johnson blew away the SL batting as they collapsed to 117/7 after 23 with 38% COW. Randiv and Kulasekara defied them Australians with a fifty partnership but they eventually folded for 191 in 41.1 overs with 15% COW. Haddin and Watson gave Australia a good start but both fell within few overs of each other as Australia reached 81/2 after 12 with 78% COW. Fifties by Watson, Ponting and Clarke ensured that Lankan spinners don’t wreck their innings as they won the match by 7 wickets with 11.5 overs to spare.
