Baz and Mahela gave KTK a rare good start and nearly put on a century stand before Baz fell with KTK at 94/1 after 9 with 57% COW. Mahela continued his attack despite wickets falling around him and it was purely his 76 off 52 that helped KTK post a challenging 178/7 with 54% COW. Gilly and Valthaty fell early as KXIP looked in trouble at 35/2 after 5 with % COW. Marsh and Karthik put together a century stand as Karthik blazed away to a fifty. They both fell in same over but at/4 after 15 with 55% COW DD were on their way to victory that they achieved by 6 wickets with 7 balls to spare.

  1st Innings (KTK) - 20 overs Maximum  
arrow 5 overs: KTK 46/0 KTK 52% Jayawardene displayed yet another
      masterclass batting exhibition lifted straight from “The MCC Coaching manual- T20 edition”. Kochi’s chances increased by 3% during this period.
arrow 10 overs: KTK 103/3 KTK 58% Jayawardene motored on in his merry way
      with McCullum scoring easily against Ryan Harris and Bhargav Bhatt before Bipul Sharma got McCullum lbw . Kochi’s chances increased by 6% during this period.
arrow 15 overs: KTK 130/3 KTK 53% Punjab clawed back a bit and kept the
      run-rate down, the slow proceedings were also helped by the wickets of Jadeja and Hodge. Kochi’s chances decreased by 5% during this period.
arrow 20 overs: KTK 178/7 KTK 54% Owais Shah gave good support to Jaya-
      wardene and they got Kochi up to a formidable total. Kochi’s chances increased by 1% during this period.
  2nd Innings (KXIP: Target 179) - 20 overs Maximum  
arrow 5 overs: KXIP 35/2 KXIP 41% Punjab lost both their openers to a
      good spell of bowling from RP Singh as victory was quickly slipping from their grasp. Punjab’s chances decreased by 5% during this period.
arrow 10 overs: KXIP 84/2 KXIP 44% Dinesh Karthik and Shaun Marsh got
      Punjab on track after seeing away the spell from RP Singh. Punjab’s chances decreased by 5% during this period.
arrow 15 overs: KXIP 145/4 KXIP 55% Karthik and Marsh went ballistic but RP
      Singh struck back getting both the set batsmen out even though they had shifted the Match Punjab’s way. Punjab’s chances decreased by 11% during this period.
arrow 18.5 overs: KXIP 181/4 KXIP 100% Mandeep Singh and David Hussey kept
      their cool and finished the target and Kochi’s bowlers could not get the breakthrough to turn the match around. Punjab won by 6 wickets.
