Chennai got off to a steady start and by the time Vijay was out they were 54/1 after 7 with 53% COW. Hussey continued in company of Raina and Dhoni and notched up a blistering half century. Hussey smashed his way to 83* as Chennai ended with 183/5 with 62% COW. Bangalore started off disastrously as they tumbled to 31/ 3 after 5 with 30% COW. Kohli and AB started a fight back but once Kohli got out, Bangalore had struggled to 77/4 after 11 with 28% COW. AB went on to score a fifty but the pressure ensured wickets kept tumbling as Bangalore ended with 162/7 to lose by 21 runs.

  1st Innings (Chennai) - 20 overs Maximum  
arrow 5 overs: CSK 33/0 CSK 53% CSK got off to a steady start as Hussey
      and Vijay negotiated some tight overs by Khan and Vettori. 33 runs were scored n this period as CSK’s COW went down by 1% to 53%.
arrow 10 overs: CSK 80/1 CSK 56% 47 runs came off these 5 overs as CSK
      lost Vijay for 31 but Raina and Hussey upped the tempo. CSK’s COW went up by 3% to 56% in this period.
arrow 15 overs: CSK 126/2 CSK 57% CSK lost Raina to Ninan but MSD and
      Hussey collected 46 runs in these 5 overs as they raised their COW by 1% to 57%.
arrow 20 overs: CSK 183/5 CSK 62% CSK lost 3 wickets as they went after
      the bowling but it worked for them as they scored 57 runs in the last 5 overs with Hussey scoring 83% as they ended with 62% COW, a jump of 5%.

      partnership as RCB scored 36 runs in this period and their COW remained unchanged at 30%.

      tried to catch up to the NRR. Thanks to AB they scored 45 runs in this period but their COW went down by 4% to 26%.
arrow 19.3 overs: RCB 162/7 RCB 0% Once AB fell for 64 the ending was
      inevitable. 50 runs came in their period but RCB also lost 2 wickets and ended up 22 runs short.
