COW Analysis:

The First Tied match covered by COW and one of the most exciting matches for COW as well. This match started innocuously enough, by that we meant tons of runs. From 54% , India ran away with the COW. A brilliant century by Tendulkar allied with marvelous half-centuries by Yuvraj and Gambhir shot the COW up to 64% by the time Tendulkar got out in the 39th over. After that everyone started slogging, hitting a few missing a few, but enough to get India to 338 all out with India’s chances at 67%. Munaf made a slight mistake when he forgot to ground the bat, getting a run short but more on that later. England started positively and by the 10th over, England were 77/1 pushing their COW to 38%. After the wicket of Trott, Bell and Strauss began making a mockery of the total, scoring runs at will. With 8 overs to go, 8 wickets in hand and60 runs to get England’s chances were at 68%. Then the turnaround began, a brilliant spell by Zaheer Khan prised out 3 wickets and England found themselves in deep trouble. A six here and there, got a brilliant tie and in the end, cricket was the winner.

  1st Innings (India) - 50 Overs Maximum
arrow 12 Overs: IND 66/1 IND 57% Sehwag and Tendulkar went after the

arrow 25 Overs: IND 140/1 IND 60% Sachin was looking ominous and Gambhir
providing excellent support, India were looking at a big total. India’s chances increased by 3% during this period.
arrow 37 Overs: IND 229/2 IND 64% And yet another century for Sachin as
India dominate England on a flat pitch. India’s chances increased by 4% during this period.
arrow 49.5 Overs: IND 338/10 IND 67% India got a humongous total but it felt
little underwhelming as not many were scored in the final few overs. India’s chances increased by 4% during this period.
  2nd Innings (England: Target 339) - 50 Overs Maximum
arrow 14 Overs: ENG 101/1 IND 62% India’s bowling looked decidedly
off-colour, as England batted powerfully and did not let the pressure rise.England’s chances increased by 5% during this period.
arrow 28 Overs: ENG 182/2 IND 65% England batted superbly, keeping wickets
intact, staying along the run-rate, just needed to cross the finish line.England’s chances decreased by 3% during this period.
arrow 42 Overs: ENG 280/2 ENG 68% It was almost over India, they could
not stop singles or boundaries and they were looking listless in the field.England’s chances increased by 33% during this period.
arrow 50 Overs: ENG 338/8 IND 50% | ENG 50% An absolutely incredible game, India
looked down out before Zaheer picked up Bell, Strauss and Collingwood, England looked down and out before Swann and Shahzad hit 3 sixes between them, in the end cricket was the only winner. Match Tied.
