3rd ODI: Sri Lanka v West Indies (Winner: SL)

SL 277/9 (K Sangakkara 75, M Jayawardene 44, S Benn 4/38, DJ Bravo 2/58) beat WI 251 (DM Bravo 79, R Sarwan 51, A Mendis 4/46, T Perera 3/36) by 26 runs.

Put in to bat first Sri Lanka went off on a flier with Tharanga and Dilshan racing away to a fifty partnership before Dilshan fell at 55/1 after 9 with COW of 53%. Tharanga too fell in 30s but Sangakkara who scored 77 and Jayawardene and later on Mathews battled to help SL reach 277/9 with COW of 56%. West Indies got off to a disastrous start with both openers back in the hut without a run on the scoreboard. Darren Bravo and Sarwan hit fifties to revive the inning but Sarwan and Chanderpaul fell to leave them at 128/4 after 26 with COW of 38%.Despite the best efforts of Dwayne and Darren Bravo and Baugh, WI were bowled out for 251 in 49 overs to lose the series 2-0.

arrow 10 Overs: SL 56/1 SL 53% SL got off to a good start as Tharanga
      and Dilshan put together a fifty run partnership but Dilshan fell soon after and Sagakkara came to the crease. 56 runs were scored in this session as SL’s COW went up by 2% to 53%.
arrow 25 Overs: SL 113/2 SL 52% First Tharanga and Sangakarra and
      then Sangakarra and Jayawardene kept the inning together with partnerships as Sri Lanka score 57 runs in this period for the loss of one wicket. Their COW went down by 1% to 52%.
arrow 40 Overs: SL 205/3 SL 56% Sangakarra notched up a fine half
      century but Jayawardene fell short of his and was out for 44 runs. Sri Lanka lost just one wicket and scored 92 runs in this session as their COW jumped up by 4% to 56%.

      claiming 6 wickets in 10 overs and Sri Lanka tried to score maximum runs at the end of their innings. With 72 more runs on the board their final COW remained at 56%.

      for ducks as they got off to a horrible start but Darren Bravo and Sarwan saw off any more danger scoring 34 runs as WIndies’ COW dipped by 5% to 39% in this session.
arrow 25 Overs: WI 128/3 SL 61% Darren and Sarwan both notched up
      fifties as West Indies continued revival but Sarwan fell in the 25th over. 94 runs came in this session as West Indies maintained their COW at 39% despite the loss of Sarwan.
arrow 40 Overs: WI 196/7 SL 72% This is where West Indies lost the plot.
      Chanderpaul fell cheaply and later Darren and Sammy fell in quick succession as they lost 4 wickets in this session. 4 wickets fell for 68 runs and their COW plummeted by 11% to 28%.
arrow 49 Overs: WI 251/10 SL 100% Despite a valiant effort by CS Baugh
      West Indies were never in the hunt and folded up for 251 in 49 overs to lose the match by 26 runs and the series 2-0.
