Sri Lanka were clearly the favourites for this match but someone forgot to tell this to Zimbabwe. Intially it all looked perfect. Sri Lanka got off to a great start with both openers getting fifties and were 116/0 in 20 with COW of 56%. But tight bowling combined with good fielding and poor batting saw wickets tumble at regular interval and by the end of the innings Zimbabwe had restricted Sri Lanka to just 236 and increased their COW to 57%. Despite losing an early wicket Zimbabwe showed no sign of pressure as Taylor scored a century and Chibhabha scored 58 as Zimbabwe’s COW crossed 60% in the 20th over. Taylor and Taibu took them home with 8 wickets to spare to set up and Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka final.
