Ricky Ponting was dropped from the ODI squad after five consecutive single digit scores.
Five days later, during the first match the team was playing without Ponting, a cheeky viewers' poll asked who would make a better Prime Minister- the former PM, the current PM or Ponting.
Ponting got more than 80% of the votes.
He did not play another ODI.
