Drunk bowler runs straight into the wickets

Geroge Lambert and Colin Scott were fast bowlers who were born in the same year (1919) and made their debut in the same year (1938) for Gloucestershire.
They became seniors in the team during the 1950s.
On the first day of the match at Cheltenham, Gloucestershire players, back in those days, used to lunch with the Mayor. On one occasion, they had some wine and Geroge had one or two glasses too many.
He came up to bowl the first over after lunch and he ran straight into the wickets!
Quite an embarassment it was, especially with the Mayor watching.
