It was a long tour and he was in dilemma, whether to opt for it or not.
The reasons against were formidable. They were-
a> He and his wife took over a broking firm a year or so earlier and they were working there, then.
b> His daughter suffered from mild cerebral palsy, not long before.
c> Then there were back spasms.
d> A torn rib cartilage.
e> There was a lucrative offer from a paper group,for reporting daily during the season. Only if he opted out as a player, though.
But, he still went ahead and played. Finished up re-writing history.
