At least 10 children were treated at a hospital in Chilaw, Sri Lanka, for eye injuries, as cricket fever gripped the nation after they won the WorldCup in 1996.
A doctor said that cricket was being played in every available open space, often with stones or pebbles instead of a ball. Onlookers, mostly small children, were inevitable casualties!
