Slasher and Tayfield

When Australia toured South Africa in the mid-1950s, 'Slasher' Mackay had the better of South Africa's ace spinner Hugh Tayfield.
So much so that Keith Butler of Adelaide Advertiser wrote: "You know, Slasher could play this bloke in the middle of the night with a hurricane lamp."
