O'Reilly's advice to a young Bill Brown

Bill Brown made his debut for Australia during the 1934 Ashes series. He did pretty well as a batsman and scored five centuries that season in England.

The ball too often jarred off the bat against his hand and Bill was suffering from an ache in his right palm near the thumb.

Bill O'Reilly told him that there was one sure way to get rid of that.

Brown asked, "What is it, Tiger?"

O'Reilly calmly replied, "Get out sooner."
