Ian Craig and The Queen

Ian Craig was not even eighteen years old when he was part of the 1953 Australian team which went to England to play the Ashes series.

Craig's batting in that trip wasn't great and when the team was introduced to The Queen in front of the Lord's pavilion, The Queen spoke longest to this boy with greenish eyes.

Among the things she said was, "I understand this is your first visit to England?"

Craig: "Yes, your Majesty, and unless my batting improves it will be my last."
