"Stop showing off, Knotty!"
|
|
England v Australia at Manchester, 1981.
As soon as Martin Kent got out in Australia's first innings, Dennis Lillee walked out to bat.
At that moment there was an announcement over the public address system, congratulating Alan Knott on his 100th dismissal against Australia.
Knott failed to hear the announcement properly and thought it to be something about Lillee.
Seeing his team mates applauding, he also joined them and continued until Ian Botham said, " For goodness sake, stop showing off, Knotty!"
