In their loss to the West Indies, Pakistan missed Shoaib Akhtar and Mohammed Asif. Their bowling attack lacked the penetration that those two bowlers would have provided. But even more than them they missed Abdul Razzaq.

Just like one of his predecessors, Mudassar Nazar, who had the same utility player tag, Abdul Razzaq has the uncanny ability of making crucial breakthroughs. Mudassar used to be known as the "Man with the golden arm", at least that is what Indian commentators used to call him. Time and again with his gentle medium pace he would provide the Pakistan team with vital breakthroughs and then provide them with a steady start opening the innings. Abdul Razzaq goes one better and in the faster paced one day games of today he also has the ability to hit cleanly over the top at the death.

His injury was a big blow to Pakistan. The pitches in the West Indies seem to be favouring medium swing bowling as was evidenced by the success that Powell and Bravo had.

Pakistan are missing their Man with the Golden Arm and I do not think they will progress past the super eights.
