students around the world to rave, rant, cry, question, wonder aloud,
shout - do whatever the cricket brings out in them. Some
of the pieces appearing here can look scandalous, but they are strictly
in the lighter vein (despite the oxymoron) and the writers mean no
malice - or so we think.

The ICL and the other T20
leagues have been hovering on the horizon for a while. They have had a
kind of a surreal feel about them, like a giant meteor that has been
rumoured to be about to come down and change everything in the
cricketing world, for good or for bad. After all the surface hype and
drum-beating, we will finally be getting down to having a glimpse of
what the fuss is all about.

reignited, and whilst I'm not going to buy into that here, I thought I
would look again at the issue of pitches, and what bowlers are suited
where. Why do Indians play Warne so easily, and why does Murali get
carted by Australia?
