| About Me: | Jarrod Kimber Australia Location: Melbourne, Victoria My theory on cricket is simple, if cricket was supposed to be taken seriously, they wouldn't pay Tony Greig to talk about it?. When you are born into a family of cricket extremists, you tend to become a bit fundamentalist about it yourself. I was brought up at the MCG, and my clerics were Waugh, Waugh, Boon, Jones, Hughes, Warne, and Border. I all but lost my virginity at the place. I can't tell you the first time I fell in love with playing the game, although I'd assume it wasn't at 7, when I made a golden duck in my first innings. I can tell you I fell in love with watching the game when I saw Mike Whitney fall over at the G. On the field, I have seen a player try and stab another player with a stump, two brothers having a brawl, and a guys testicle get squeezed into a broken box. My cricket heroics have been, six sixes in an over, first leg spinner to perfect a wicket taking bouncer, and the only Australian brave enough to unsuccessfully open the bowling with two spinners. When I am not writing about cricket, Natalie Portman and my own radical politics, I am a filmmaker, pervert, writer and a folk singer. As of yet I have not written a song about Tony Greig. |
