| About Me: | Jatin Thakker India Location: Mumbai, Maharashtra Born to play, forced to get a settled life with professional qualifications. I just mapped my entire lifetime. I wish we had some professional degrees for cricket at the end of which we would get fat salaries and a 9 to 6 job. With this wish unfulfilled, my scope for being a cricketer (more importantly getting family support for the same) vanished. But my love from the game only multiplied. I was born in 1985 and it takes atleast 5 years to gain enough understanding to know a game. That says I have been a cricket fan from 1990. But somewhere inside I still believe it’s before that! I had tried entering professional cricket sometime between 2000-2002. But unfortunately my coach could not quite spot my talent, mainly because there wasn’t much talent to be spotted. However that did not discourage me from indulging in the game. In fact I believe its more fun playing cricket in thin gallis (streets), at home and on terraces. Besides you get to set and break strange records (and that includes one of my friends sweeping me successfully six times in an over on underarm bowling in his living room…wonder what Van Bunge and Gibbs have to say about that!). I seriously cannot live life without sports. So,although unlucky that I could not become a cricketer, here I am writing for Cartwheel Creative on this cricketing website. Apart from it, on a completely different tangent, I am pursuing Chartered Accountancy qualification which is now far away by only one BIG exam. Atleast I am satisfied for one reason. I am, in some way or the other, associated to this wonderful game. |
