Welcome back.. A slip is in place for Anderson

Phew, that was a frantic finish. Very comparable to a rush-hour morning to make it to work with chaos ruling the roost. The bottom line though is that New Zealand have finished with a very strong total on the board. It all started with Guptill brandishing his bat like a Ninja. Carved it all round the park before being eventually dismissed for 42 in just 19 balls. However, the inertia of his knock kept the momentum going right through. Anderson found his way back to some form as well as he was given the license to go all out. It all sets up a challenging task for the visitors who need to bat out of their skins to clinch this series. Join us back in around 5 minutes..

Corey Anderson 82(42) Mitchell Santner 2(3) Amir 4-0-35-0

19.6 - Amir to Corey Anderson, 1 run, fails to dispatch the full toss. Right there for the taking. Swings across the line and mistimes it to deep mid-wicket

19.5 - Amir to Corey Anderson, 2 runs, low full toss, heaved away wide of deep mid-wicket. Again, running like mad to make it back on strike for the final ball

19.4 - Amir to Corey Anderson, 2 runs, full and struck hard in front of long-off. Anderson pushes hard for the second and makes it

19.3 - Amir to Mitchell Santner, leg byes, 1 run, walks right across his stumps and misses out on a full toss. Slogged hard but just missed it. Plain and simple. The LBW shout looked a good one. Ruled not out though. I wonder why

19.2 - Amir to Corey Anderson, 1 run, although on a good length, this one was well outside off. Meant that Anderson had to fetch his premeditated heave, had to reach out for it. Toe-ends it through mid-wicket

19.1 - Amir to Mitchell Santner, 1 run, slippery yorker length delivery on middle, squeezed through mid-wicket

Mohammad Amir [3.0-0-28-0] is back into the attack

Over: 19 W 1 Wd 1 2 4 4 NZ 188/5
Corey Anderson 76(38) Mitchell Santner 1(1) Riaz 4-0-43-2

18.6 - Riaz to Corey Anderson, FOUR, oh my! Have to feel for Riaz here. He's been done in again by the outside edge. This time though, it wasn't a very good delivery either. Right in the slot on middle, Anderson made room looking to loft it inside out. Gets another thick outside edge to beat the infield

18.5 - Riaz to Corey Anderson, FOUR, now that's back-breaking. You bowl it nice and full, maybe around 4-5 inches short of an ideal yorker. And then to see the outside edge fly over short third man. But, as far as Anderson is concerned - anything goes

18.4 - Riaz to Corey Anderson, 2 runs, slower short of length delivery which is swatted away wide of long-on. Anderson was slightly deceived by the lack of pace and couldn't quite nail it. Long-on runs across and slides to cut it off

18.3 - Riaz to Mitchell Santner, 1 run, slips in a yorker aiming for the base of leg-stump, clunked down to long-on

18.3 - Riaz to Mitchell Santner, wide, a wild wild bouncer. Way too high and wide. Santner initially thought about going after it but pulled out well in time

18.2 - Riaz to Corey Anderson, 1 run, low full toss on middle and leg aiming to follow the batsman, thumped down to long-on

Mitchell Santner, left handed bat, comes to the crease

18.1 - Riaz to Ronchi, out Caught by U Akmal!! Ronchi perishes for the cause. Couldn't quite get hold of this delivery as he swung hard. Yes, it was full in the slot but the fact that he hasn't got his eye in well enough meant that the connection wasn't as desired. Holes out at long-on. Ronchi c U Akmal b Riaz 1(2)

17.6 - Imad Wasim to Ronchi, 1 run, darted in on middle, worked down to long-on

Luke Ronchi, right handed bat, comes to the crease

17.5 - Imad Wasim to Corey Anderson, out Elliott Run Out!! 2 runs completed. That's brilliant work from Anwar Ali at extra-cover. Total commitment. Initially, Anderson's sliced cut shot cleared his leap at extra-cover. But he didn't give up. Hounded the ball down, stopped it with a slide a yard or so inside the ropes, got back up and fired in a brilliant throw at the striker's end to catch Elliott inches short. Elliott run out (Anwar Ali/Sarfraz) 19(14) [4s-1 6s-1]

Imad Wasim to Corey Anderson, THAT'S OUT!! Run Out!!

17.4 - Imad Wasim to Elliott, 1 run, a quick low full toss, hammered down to long-on

17.3 - Imad Wasim to Elliott, SIX, oh beauty! Slightly slower through the air and drifting in on off, Elliott makes room and hoists it inside out over extra-cover

17.2 - Imad Wasim to Elliott, 2 runs, backed away which took him further away from the ball which was outside off, made his task difficult. Somehow hits it off the bottom of the bat wide of long-off

17.1 - Imad Wasim to Elliott, FOUR, full toss on the stumps, horror ball, Elliott swivels across and helps the pull behind square

Imad Wasim [3.0-0-26-0] is back into the attack

Over: 17 0 4 1Nb 1 1 1 6 NZ 159/3
Corey Anderson 63(33) Elliott 6(10) Riaz 3-0-30-1

16.6 - Riaz to Corey Anderson, SIX, now he's connected. And when he does, the result is usually a given. Riaz missed his yorker this time, ended up being right in the slot for Anderson to tee off. Which he did. Loaded up like a golfer and clubbed it straight back

16.5 - Riaz to Elliott, 1 run, another full toss outside off, Elliott flashes it to sweeper cover

16.4 - Riaz to Corey Anderson, 1 run, low full toss outside off, squeezed to extra-cover

16.3 - Riaz to Elliott, 1 run, excellent delivery. Elliott was standing on off stump even before the ball was bowled, Riaz fired a low full toss even wider. Had to reach out for it and could only toe-end the slog towards extra-cover

16.3 - Riaz to Corey Anderson, no ball, 1 run, lovely ball. Right in the blockhole. Oh wait. The umpire's right hand is held up horizontally. It's a no-ball. No-ball. Oh my. Free-hit coming up

16.2 - Riaz to Corey Anderson, FOUR, lashed over extra-cover. Full and wide, Anderson throws his hands at it, slashes it off the bottom of the bat and gets it wide of the man in the deep

16.1 - Riaz to Corey Anderson, no run, makes room and smears this full ball straight to extra-cover

Elliott 4(8) Corey Anderson 51(28) Amir 3-0-28-0

15.6 - Amir to Elliott, no run, and again. Flush on the popping crease outside off, Elliott swings and misses

15.5 - Amir to Corey Anderson, 1 run, hard to get under these. Right in the blockhole. Drilled down to long-off

15.4 - Amir to Corey Anderson, FOUR, backs away and carves it over short third man. Not quite where he intended but runs are runs. Also brings up his half-century in just 27 balls. Amir bowled it full on the stumps seeing the batsman move away, Anderson might have intended to go over extra-cover but the edge flew away

15.3 - Amir to Corey Anderson, SIX, whack! I don't think he got that anywhere near the middle but its enough. Full on middle and leg, Anderson clouts it over deep mid-wicket

15.2 - Amir to Corey Anderson, 2 runs, fullish on middle and off, slogs hard but the bat twists in his hands. Mistimes it wide of long-on

15.1 - Amir to Corey Anderson, 2 runs, slightly short outside off, Anderson lines it up and flat-bats it wide of long-off. Extra-cover tried to intercept with a dive but couldn't get a hand. Easy two

14.5 - Imad Wasim to Corey Anderson, 1 run, backs away a long way, Wasim follows him with a low full toss. All Anderson can do is hit it meekly down to long-off

14.4 - Imad Wasim to Elliott, 1 run, and again. Fires it in very full, forces Elliott to drag his slog to deep mid-wicket

14.3 - Imad Wasim to Corey Anderson, 1 run, tries to swipe it hard but Wasim is proving to be very difficult to get underneath. Mistimes it in front of long-on

14.2 - Imad Wasim to Elliott, leg byes, 1 run, another fiery dart skidding on from middle, thuds into Elliott's pads as he misses the flick. Rolls in front of short third man

14.1 - Imad Wasim to Corey Anderson, 1 run, a quick low full toss on middle, belted down to long-on

13.6 - Afridi to Elliott, no run, the slider which skids on from a length, Elliott lunges forward and offers a defensive push towards extra-cover

13.5 - Afridi to Corey Anderson, 1 run, quicker through the air and aiming to cramp the batsman, whipped away through square leg

13.4 - Afridi to Corey Anderson, no run, fails to beat short fine leg with a pull as the fielder dived across to stop. Then looks for a single which wasn't there. Had to put in the dive to make it back

13.3 - Afridi to Elliott, 1 run, drifting in with the arm, ends up on the pads, flicked through mid-wicket

13.2 - Afridi to Corey Anderson, 1 run, flatter on middle and leg, nurdled round the corner

13.1 - Afridi to Corey Anderson, SIX, wingardium leviosa! That's been slaughtered. Afridi dared to flight the ball, and has been deposited 10-15 rows back. Just a brutish swing of the arms to smite it over wide long-on

12.3 - Imad Wasim to Elliott, 1 run, quicker arm ball which skids on from a length outside off, Elliott crouches low and drives it to deep cover

12.2 - Imad Wasim to Corey Anderson, 1 run, shortish outside off, very quick through the air, chopped through the cover region

12.1 - Imad Wasim to Corey Anderson, no run, fired in very full on off, jammed back to the bowler

11.6 - Shoaib Malik to Ross Taylor, wide, flat, fast and lacking direction. Again down the leg-side. Taylor is happy to collect the extra

11.6 - Shoaib Malik to Corey Anderson, 2 wides, hurled down the leg-side, Anderson fails to get bat on his tickle. Even the keeper fumbles allowing an extra run

10.6 - Riaz to Williamson, out Caught by Shoaib Malik!! Not really his game, is it? Shuffles across shaping to slog one into the car-park. So that brings an end to this 3-match T20 series with the hosts emerging as 2-1 victors. We will now switch over to the ODIs which will again see 3 games being played. That commences from Monday. Looking forward to your company then. Cheers!

All the Kiwis now converge towards Williamson who is holding the trophy to oblige the shutterbugs. After losing the first game - which would have come as a jolt no doubt - it has been a job well done. To bounce back like they have and absolutely beat the opposition to a pulp is a sign of a classy team. Surely one of the top contenders for the World T20 which is less than 2 months away.

Williamson: "I suppose that's the nature of T20 cricket. But every game is tough. Pakistan are a very dangerous side. Credit to our lads for coping with the pressure. We weren't quite sure what to expect but to come out and put a good total in the first innings was good. This was perhaps a more well-rounded effort than the previous one. We will encounter different conditions at the World T20 and it will be a different challenge."

Afridi: "I want to congratulate the New Zealand team. They played well. First six batsmen are sitting in the dressing room after the first six overs so what more can we expect (talking about their run-chase). My performance has always played a key role in the team. Missed that today. Have to come good with the bat. I would love to come back here again, probably as a commentator. I want to thank the Kiwi crowd. In front of such beautiful, down to earth and friendly people, it's been a pleasure."

Anderson: "Pretty tired. It was nice to finally get some runs and be back to international cricket. It's been the Kane-Guptill show for the last week and a half which has been nice. Good to get some runs today though."

Corey Anderson is the Man of the Match

This, people, is what we call a drubbing. Pakistan were undone by the thought of chasing 197 and shot themselves mentally in the mid-innings break itself. The key is not to panic and approach it sensibly. But if you see how the visitors batted, just too many shots too early. No thought given to spend time at the crease to set a foundation. None of that. One by one, every batsman came out, swung his arms, and swung back towards the dressing room. Appalling really. Have to say though that New Zealand's fielding effort was breath-taking. Don't think I saw a single event of a misfield let alone a dropped catch.

16.1 - Milne to Riaz, out Caught by Ronchi!! As comprehensive as it gets. A brutal 95-run win to seal the series 2-1. Short ball, Riaz is having none of it. Better to get out than risk an injury he thinks. Backs away looking for a macho pull. Hits it straight up in the air off the top-edge. Ronchi runs forward, calls for it and nestles it. Mohammad Amir, left handed bat, comes to the crease

14.3 - Milne to Anwar Ali, out Caught by Ronchi!! Pakistan are hurtling towards defeat. Anwar Ali backed away, but was still cramped for room by a pacy short of length delivery. Brilliant change of pace from Elliott. The slower leg-cutter just outside off. Although he dropped it short, there was nothing to work on. All the pace was sucked out of the delivery upon landing.
