The Aussie openers are making their way out to the middle. Tim Southee has the new ball in his hand. Here we go then...
Tea, day 1: New Zealand didn't get off to the best of starts after the lunch break as Watling fell for 17. Despite wickets falling at regular intervals, the last few wickets surely irritated the Australians, with Anderson, Craig and Boult, all managing to add a few handy runs for the home side. The last wicket partnership of 46 between Craig and Boult was especially frustrating for the visitors, but one can be sure that they would have taken New Zealand getting bowled out for 183 at the start of the match. There are already signs that the pitch has eased off to an extent, much to the delight of the Australian batsmen, but the Kiwi pacers will be hoping that there's still enough on it for them to take some quick wickets. Join us in a short while to witness Australia's reply

Lyon to Boult, out Caught by Khawaja!! Finally, the 46-run stand comes to an end. Boult, the final one to depart. In order to try and hit another six, Boult jumps out of the crease and lofts it straight down the ground, didn't get it off the middle and Khawaja from long-on moves to his left and takes the catch. The momentum was taking him over the rope as he took the catch right on the edge, he throws the ball up in the air before he cross the rope, balances himself quickly and jumps inside the rope to take it on the second attempt. He was very calm under pressure and that was the key in completing the catch. This wicket also means that tea will be taken early. Boult c Khawaja b Lyon 24(22) [6s-3]
