As is always the case in a chase, Kohli is the key and I suspect MS will have a big role to play as well. Any guesses on the eventual result. Personally I would love a Super Over and all the associated drama with it. Can that happen? Let's wait and watch. Buckle up and sit back to enjoy all the action. Chants of "India jeetega" doing the rounds as Rohit gets ready to face Hazlewood. Mithali Raj and Co. are in the house. Mithali is all smiles. A lone slip in place for the McGrath clone as he runs in. Here we go...

Right. Australia have got 160. The pressure is on India. This pitch reminds me of the 2011 WC semi-final when it got progressively slower. India made life difficult for Pakistan by slowing the pace and resorting to cutters with Munaf, Nehra and Zaheer outstanding. Eventually Pakistan couldn't handle the chase and lost out. Can Australia do something similar tonight? They are relaxed as they wait outside the boundary ropes. Now they are in a huddle. Rohit and Dhawan punch gloves before stepping in

Pandya: "The ball is coming pretty well onto the bat and I think we can get this. It's holding up a bit and that is why the length was very important on this wicket. I should have tried something else at the end. We need to set a good foundation and we have players who can finish games."

This game has had many unknowns. Dew is an unknown. The pitch was an unknown. Heck, even our man at the ground, Ganesh, is unknown. We can't get to him. And now the Australian total is an unknown. Is it enough?

Then came the reversal. Khawaja got ahead of himself and nicked off to Dhoni off Nehra. Soon, we saw an influx of spin. And we saw Yuvraj brought on for the first time in this T20 WC. His first ball left Smith furious, while the whole of India was in raptures as the umpire's finger went up. It had clearly missed the edge. Almost in protest, the Aussie innings fell apart. Pace off the ball was working. And Dhoni - the puppet master Dhoni - got in the game. From 53-0 in 4 overs, to 81-3 in 10, to 114-4 in 15. Maxwell struggled to get going, Watson couldn't unleash at the death, and Australia were strangled. Then comes Peter Nevill from oblivion and whacks the final two balls of the innings for 10 to lift them to 160.

You could feel the pressure right at the start. India were nervous. The toss hadn't gone their way. The pitch was a mystery. And then Khawaja started batting like he has been doing all summer, scoring boundaries through flattery. A whip off the hips, a glide past short third man, a slog over mid-on. They were all there. Bumrah had been carted for four deflating boundaries in his first over. And Mohali was stunned into disbelief. "Okay, Okay, we have this. Dhoni will go to Ashwin and we'll pull it back." Ashwin comes on and Finch thumps him for 22. Australia had stormed to 53-0 in 4 overs.

Nevill 10(2) Watson 18(16) Pandya 4-0-36-2

19.6 - Pandya to Nevill, SIX, is this a defining moment in the match? Nevill has scored 10 runs off 2 balls and both batsmen rush back with a big smile on their faces. Surely, Australia have taken the momentum with them at the halfway stage. What was turning out to be a good over has been spoilt by the last two deliveries. So often these quick runs at the very end turn out to be the difference in a game. I am sure this is not what Nehra told Pandya to do. Bowls a juicy full delivery on the leg stump and Nevill clears his front leg before muscling it over mid-wicket. Australia get that psychological edge of posting 160 when they looked like getting 155 initially

Bit of advice from Nehra to the youngster. Final delivery of the innings coming up.

19.5 - Pandya to Nevill, FOUR, cheeky from Nevill and it works for Australia. Pandya bangs the slower delivery short, Nevill moves across and tries to scoop, not from the middle of the bat but well wide of short fine leg

19.4 - Pandya to Watson, 1 run, low full toss and Watto can only drill it along the ground to long-off

19.3 - Pandya to Watson, FOUR, lucky boundary for Australia and that will hurt Pandya. Interestingly, this full delivery swung away slightly from the batsman, Watson backed away and wanted to crash it hard, got a thick edge that ran away through the vacant third man region

19.2 - Pandya to Watson, no run, there is the back of a length delivery wide outside off stump that he bowled against Bangladesh in Bengaluru. Shuvagata missed there and Watson misses as well. So close to being a wide

Peter Nevill, right handed bat, comes to the crease

19.1 - Pandya to Faulkner, out Caught by Kohli!! Faulkner loves Mohali and turn the clock back to 2013 if you can't get me, but this time it's not sailing out of the park. Kohli settles under it at long-on and takes a simple catch. Good start to the final over for India. Can't give much credit to Pandya though as this length ball right in the slot to be put away, just that Faulkner completely mistimed the shot. Faulkner c Kohli b Pandya 10(10) [4s-1]

Pandya to Faulkner, THAT'S OUT!! Caught!!

Hardik Pandya [3.0-0-21-1] is back into the attack

Nehra and Bumrah have bowled out. Crucial final over coming up. Pandya with the ball in hand. India will be happy with anything under 10 runs.

Faulkner 10(9) Watson 13(13) Bumrah 4-0-32-1

18.6 - Bumrah to Faulkner, 1 run, great stop from Rohit Sharma at extra-cover and he's saved three runs. Low full toss on the off stump, Faulkner drives hard, Rohit dives to his right and stops the ball

18.5 - Bumrah to Watson, 1 run, slower delivery on the stumps, Watson steps and tries to muscle it out of the park, but gets an inside edge that rolls to deep mid-wicket

18.4 - Bumrah to Faulkner, 1 run, another low full toss and Faulkner can't get under it. Another mistimed hit, this time to long-on, who swiftly gets to the ball and prevents the second run

18.3 - Bumrah to Watson, 1 run, full toss, mistimed in the air, but well short of the man at deep mid-wicket

18.2 - Bumrah to Faulkner, 1 run, now Bumrah goes back to what was working well for him, the attempted yorker, drilled to long-on

18.1 - Bumrah to Faulkner, FOUR, ohh! The commentator's curse! I said no boundaries in 12 balls and Bumrah bowls a bad ball. Can't bowl short with no one at third man, he opted for the slower delivery as well, Faulkner had enough time after taking a step towards the bowler, just guided that past backward point

This is good bowling from Bumrah and Nehra. They are getting the yorkers right. No boundaries in 12 balls for Australia and we are in the death overs.

Faulkner 3(5) Watson 11(11) Nehra 4-0-20-1

17.6 - Nehra to Faulkner, 1 run, this time Faulkner advances and yorks himself up, toe-ends the drive to the right of extra-cover

17.5 - Nehra to Faulkner, no run, this is clever bowling from Nehra. Faulkner was lining for the scoop after moving across the stumps, Nehra opts for a widish yorker wide outside off stump and beat the batsman

17.4 - Nehra to Faulkner, no run, dot ball and the crowd get behind Nehra. Slower delivery on the stumps, Faulkner defends it back to the bowler

17.3 - Nehra to Watson, 1 run, full toss but Watson fails to hit the gap. Drives wide of long-off and Kohli quickly gets to the ball and fires the throw to Dhoni, preventing the second run

17.2 - Nehra to Faulkner, 1 run, good length delivery on the leg stump, Faulkner flicks it to deep mid-wicket

17.1 - Nehra to Watson, 1 run, slower delivery outside off stump, guided it to backward point for a quick single

Ashish Nehra [3.0-0-16-1] is back into the attack

Great over. Just 3 runs and the crucial wicket of Maxwell in it. Interestingly, coming back to the Maxwell dismissal, Kohli thought the ball missed the stumps and then got to know that the bails came off and celebrated.

16.6 - Bumrah to Watson, 1 run, low full toss, drilled to long-off

16.5 - Bumrah to Watson, no run, slower delivery outside off stump, Watson guides it to backward point, was halfway down the pitch, but Jadeja opts not to throw as there was no one backing up

16.4 - Bumrah to Faulkner, 1 run, excellent yorker at the base of off stump, drilled to long-on, Watson thought about two, but Faulkner says no

James Faulkner, right handed bat, comes to the crease

16.3 - Bumrah to Maxwell, out Bowled!! Bumrah smiles and Dhoni claps. Excellent delivery from the youngster. India have got the dangerous looking Maxwell. He was threatening to go big. Oh they are checking for the no-ball once again. That's close, but Bumrah had just enough behind the line. Lovely slower delivery, not picked by Maxwell. He swung early as he tried to slog, missed and the ball just kissed the outside of off stump to ignite the bails. Maxwell b Bumrah 31(28) [4s-1 6s-1]

Bumrah to Maxwell, THAT'S OUT!! Bowled!!

16.2 - Bumrah to Maxwell, no run, well bowled, Maxwell tries the reverse-sweep again, but Bumrah takes pace off the ball and beats him all ends up

16.1 - Bumrah to Watson, 1 run, Bumrah starts with a slingly full delivery, Watson drives it down to long-on

Jasprit Bumrah [2.0-0-20-0] is back into the attack

The last two overs have been productive for Australia. 25 runs have been scored. 4 overs to go, can they get to 160?

Maxwell 31(26) Watson 7(6) Jadeja 3-0-20-0

15.6 - Ravindra Jadeja to Maxwell, SIX, wow! He's reverse swept this for a maximum. What a hit. Jadeja made matters easy by bowling a freebie full toss and Maxwell smashed that over sweeper cover

15.5 - Ravindra Jadeja to Maxwell, FOUR, once again Jadeja sprays down the leg-side. Maxwell gets inside the line and sweeps very fine behind square and there is no one in the deep

15.4 - Ravindra Jadeja to Watson, 1 run, shortish from Jadeja, Watson cuts it to backward point

15.4 - Ravindra Jadeja to Watson, wide, fired down the leg-side and another wide from India

15.3 - Ravindra Jadeja to Maxwell, 1 run, oh that's hit really hard, Jadeja appeals for a run-out, but he didn't get a hand on it. Watson was outside the crease at the bowler's end and the ball hit the stumps, but there was no fingertip to it from the bowler, long-on tidies up

15.2 - Ravindra Jadeja to Watson, leg byes, 1 run, the slider from Ravindra Jadeja, Watson plays for turn and tries to nudge, it goes straight on with the arm, hit on the pad, but going down

15.1 - Ravindra Jadeja to Maxwell, 1 run, leadinggg edge, but it's safe. Pitched on leg stump and turns square, foxes Maxwell on the flick, luckily for Australia the ball lands safely at cover-point

14.6 - Pandya to Maxwell, 1 run, in the airrrr, long-off gets excited for a bit, but it doesn't carry to him. The slower delivery outside off stump, Maxwell swings hard and toe-ends it on the bounce to Rohit Sharma in the deep

14.5 - Pandya to Watson, 1 run, Watson goes on the back foot and turns the short of length delivery to deep mid-wicket

14.4 - Pandya to Maxwell, 1 run, Maxwell goes across the stumps, Pandya bowls a length ball just outside off stump, defended back to the bowler, who fails to stop the ball in his followthrough

14.3 - Pandya to Watson, 1 run, good length delivery on the stumps, Watson turns it through backward square leg

14.2 - Pandya to Watson, FOUR, crunched! Short delivery on the stumps, not high enough to Watto, who nails the pull shot off the front foot through square leg. Off the mark in style

14.2 - Pandya to Watson, wide, another one down the leg-side, India have to be more disciplined

14.1 - Pandya to Maxwell, 1 run, slower delivery on the stumps, Maxwell backs away and toe-ends the slap to long-off

Well, Yuvraj has bowled three overs and conceded just 19 runs.

Watson 0(1) Maxwell 16(19) Yuvraj 3-0-19-1

13.6 - Yuvraj to Watson, no run, that's a really teasing ball from Yuvraj. Floated up nicely and he actually yorked the batsman, Watson just about managed to dig it out to point

13.5 - Yuvraj to Maxwell, 1 run, low full toss, clipped away to deep mid-wicket

13.4 - Yuvraj to Maxwell, no run, now the quicker delivery and Maxwell gets an inside edge onto pad. Maxwell is livid with himself for playing dot balls

13.3 - Yuvraj to Maxwell, no run, leading edge, but doesn't got to hand. Maxwell wanted to flick, the ball lands safely at cover-point

13.2 - Yuvraj to Maxwell, 2 runs, flighted delivery on the off stump, Maxwell sweeps it to deep square leg, Jadeja is swift to run across from deep wicket, "bowler's end," shouts Dhoni and Jadeja fires a decent throw despite the ball coming to his wrong side

13.1 - Yuvraj to Maxwell, no run, Maxwell shuffles in the crease, Yuvraj slowly bowls this on the stumps and forces the batsman to simply block

13.1 - Yuvraj to Maxwell, wide, flighted delivery down the leg-side, easy call for the umpire

Shane Watson, right handed bat, comes to the crease

Finch 43(34) Maxwell 13(14) Pandya 2-0-11-1

12.6 - Pandya to Finch, out Caught by Dhawan!! This is not timed well and it's taken at deep mid-wicket. Brave stuff from Pandya. He was bowling short and runs were scored, yet he banged this short and got the wicket. Short delivery on the stumps, Finch goes for the pull, but gets it high on the bat, no timing and Dhawan makes no mistake with the reverse cup. So Australia have lost their set batsman. Finch c Dhawan b Pandya 43(34) [4s-3 6s-2]

Pandya to Finch, THAT'S OUT!! Caught!!

12.5 - Pandya to Finch, FOUR, once again Pandya bowls short and this time Finch was ready for it. Raina stretched full length to his left but he couldn't get there in time. This went from the toe-end of the bat, but he swung hard on the ball and sent it through deep square leg

12.4 - Pandya to Finch, no run, beaten! Shortish from Pandya, Finch pulls and misses

12.3 - Pandya to Finch, 2 runs, a slight fumble and Maxwell was alert enough to push his partner through for the second run. Shortish in length, pulled wide of long-on, Kohli grabs it on the second attempt and fires a good throw, Pandya whips the bails off, but Maxwell was very quick

12.2 - Pandya to Finch, no run, Pandya delivers this from wide of the crease, Finch was targetting the mid-wicket boundary with a pull, but this short of length delivery sneaks under his bat and almost knocks over leg stump

12.1 - Pandya to Maxwell, 1 run, Maxwell waits for the delivery after backing away, no pace on this shortish delivery, Maxwell slaps it to long-off off the bottom of the bat

Over: 12 1 2 W 2 1 1 0 1 1 1 AUS 93/3
Maxwell 12(13) Finch 37(29) Yuvraj 2-0-15-1

11.6 - Yuvraj to Maxwell, 1 run, Maxwell goes for the reverse sweep, but doesn't get it in the gap, goes to sweeper cover

11.5 - Yuvraj to Finch, 1 run, flatter delivery on the leg stump, Finch punches it to long-on

11.4 - Yuvraj to Maxwell, 1 run, oh almost through Maxwell there. The quicker delivery on the stumps, Maxwell went for the sweep and got the under edge that rolled behind square

11.3 - Yuvraj to Maxwell, 2 runs, brilliant piece of fielding from Raina. He ran across the long-off and pushed the ball towards Pandya, who was coming at him from long-on. Flighted delivery on the stumps, Maxwell mistimes the loft back over the bowler's head, the ball bounced at a good height for Raina to execute that fielding effort there

11.2 - Yuvraj to Maxwell, 2 runs, "two, two, two," was the call from Maxwell as soon as he hit this low full along the ground to deep square leg, Rohit had a lot of ground to cover from long leg

11.1 - Yuvraj to Finch, 1 run, Finch backs away, Yuvraj follows him with a flatter delivery, driven to long-off

That was a good first over from Pandya. Kept it very tight and made life difficult for the batsmen.

Over: 11 1 AUS 85/3
Finch 35(27) Maxwell 6(9) Pandya 1-0-4-0

10.6 - Pandya to Finch, 1 run, short of length delivery outside off stump, punched to the left of the bowler, who fails to stop it cleanly in his followthrough, ball rolls to long-off

10.5 - Pandya to Maxwell, 1 run, shortish slower delivery on the stumps, Maxwell helps it down to long leg

10.4 - Pandya to Maxwell, no run, short of length delivery on the off stump, punched back to the bowler

10.3 - Pandya to Maxwell, 2 runs, slower delivery down the leg-side, Maxwell leading edges the flick to deep mid-wicket, Raina fires a wild throw and concedes an extra run. Dhoni is furious. That was just a single

10.2 - Pandya to Maxwell, no run, this is a very interesting delivery. The slower ball bumper from Pandya, Maxwell was lining up for the cut shot, but the ball never rose, Maxwell totally surprised and tried to hurriedly fend, the ball hit him close to the stomach area, but it was too high for LBW though

10.1 - Pandya to Maxwell, no run, short delivery outside off stump, Maxwell tries to guide it past the keeper, but gets beaten

9.5 - Yuvraj to Finch, wide, this is down the leg-side, Finch fails to sweep, anyway it's a wide

9.4 - Yuvraj to Maxwell, 1 run, flicked along the ground to deep square leg

9.3 - Yuvraj to Maxwell, no run, oh Maxwell has missed out on the free-hit. Flighted delivery following the batsman as he went leg-side, Maxwell can only manage an inside edge onto pad as he tried to slog

9.3 - Yuvraj to Finch, no ball, 1 run, shortish from Yuvraj, Finch cuts off the back foot through cover-point. Free-hit coming up

9.2 - Yuvraj to Maxwell, 1 run, Maxwell waits for the flighted delivery to come and flicks it to mid-wicket

Glenn Maxwell, right handed bat, comes to the crease

9.1 - Yuvraj to Smith, out Caught by Dhoni!! Wow! Just wow! What a change this is by MS Dhoni! It's that combo again. Caught Dhoni, bowled Yuvraj. Oh hang on! The umpire has asked Smith to wait to check for the no-ball. That's well inside the line and it's a legal delivery. Smith shakes his head all the way to the dressing room. He isn't happy! Not sure if he's unhappy with the decision or the fact that he's got out to delivery that did not deserve a wicket. A rank long hop I would say. Smith tried to punch off the back foot, the appeal was spontaneous from Dhoni and Co. and umpire Marais Erasmus raised his finger. Well, well, UltraEdge shows no wave and Smith is unlucky here. India won't mind though, for Smith loves to bat against MS Dhoni's boys. Smith c Dhoni b Yuvraj 2(6)

8.3 - Ravindra Jadeja to Smith, no run, Smith is on the front foot and allowing the ball to spin away before defending to cover

8.2 - Ravindra Jadeja to Smith, no run, Smith drives to the left of the bowler, who stops the ball

Steven Smith, right handed bat, comes to the crease

7.5 - Ashwin to Warner, out Stumped!! And there you go! Told you Ashwin will be a lot more comfortable to bowl to the left-hander and he's got a big wicket now. Loud cheer from the crowd and a big sigh of relief on Ashwin's face. Warner jumps out of the crease, but doesn't get to the pitch of the ball, tries to push it gently, the ball just turns enough to beat his bat. Dhoni actually fumbled but managed to hold on to the ball. Warner was a long way down the pitch and Dhoni had enough time to take the bails off. With this wicket, Ashwin becomes the first Indian bowler to take 50 wickets in T20Is. Warner st Dhoni b Ashwin 6(9)

Ashwin to Warner, THAT'S OUT!! Stumped!!

7.4 - Ashwin to Finch, 1 run, on the leg stump, tucked to deep mid-wicket

7.3 - Ashwin to Finch, FOUR, and that is why Ashwin doesn't want to bowl outside off stump for Finch. This was actually a slider attacking the stumps, but there is a big gap on the off-side. Finch rocks back and punches it nicely from the middle of the bat and takes it away from the sweeper cover fielder

7.2 - Ashwin to Warner, 1 run, but he bowls leg-stump line again, easily turned to backward square leg

Ashwin will be much more relieved to bowl to the left-hander with a slip

7.1 - Ashwin to Finch, 1 run, looks like he's not going to bowl outside off stump for Finch, down the leg-side, Finch drags the slog to deep mid-wicket off the inside half of the bat

6.4 - Ravindra Jadeja to Warner, 1 run, short enough for Warner to rock back and punch to long-on

6.3 - Ravindra Jadeja to Warner, no run, not much of flight on this one, punched straight to cover

6.2 - Ravindra Jadeja to Warner, 2 runs, slows this time nicely, ends on the off stump, Warner waits for the ball to turn and guides it with an angled bat through backward point, Warner is swift between the wickets and he's back for two

5.5 - Bumrah to Warner, 1 run, round the wicket to Warner, skiddy length delivery attacking the stumps, Warner turns it to deep mid-wicket

5.4 - Bumrah to Finch, 1 run, outside edge, but all along the ground. Good length delivery just outside off stump, Finch tries to defend, gets a thick edge that rolls to third man

4.5 - Nehra to Finch, no run, good length delivery outside off stump, Finch defends with an angled bat to backward point

4.4 - Nehra to Warner, 1 run, looked like the attempted inswinger to the left-hander from Nehra, Warner drives it softly towards mid-off and sets off

4.3 - Nehra to Warner, no run, Warner middles one straightaway, but finds the man at cover, the fielder has a shy at the bowler's end as Finch wanders out of the crease, but needed a direct-hit

4.2 - Nehra to Khawaja, out Caught by Dhoni!! Edgeddddd and that's a good grab by Dhoni. Khawaja was troubled by Nehra's outswingers and he has to go now. Full and swinging away outside off stump, Khawaja went really hard at it and lost his shape. Had the emphasis been on timing the ball, he would have found the middle of the bat, instead he only manages a thick outside edge that flies. Dhoni jumps to his left and takes it cleanly. 3.4 - Ashwin to Finch, SIX, and again. This time it's flat, the fielder is interested for a while, jumps high but it evades him. Similar delivery from Ashwin, full and in the slot, Finch lofts it flat over long-on

3.3 - Ashwin to Finch, SIX, this is clever from Finch. He is standing outside leg stump, tempting the bowler to attack the sticks, Ashwin goes full and on the stumps, Finch lofts handsomely over long-on. There was a fielder in the deep but he wasn't afraid to play the shot

3.2 - Ashwin to Finch, no run, Finch exposes all three sticks and tries to hit over the off-side, but toe-ends it back to the bowler

3.1 - Ashwin to Khawaja, 1 run, flighted delivery on the stumps, Khawaja flicks it along the ground to deep mid-wicket

Ravichandran Ashwin, right-arm off break, comes into the attack

Win the toss, bat first and Smith will be very happy to see 31/0 on the board in 3 overs. How is Dhoni going to react? He goes to his main bowler. Ashwin to bowl with a slip

2.6 - Nehra to Khawaja, 1 run, this time Khawaja allows the ball to come and works it to deep square leg

2.5 - Nehra to Khawaja, no run, good length delivery on the stumps, Khawaja works it to mid-on, Finch wanted a run but sent back

2.4 - Nehra to Khawaja, FOUR, Khawaja advances towards the bowler, Nehra tries to follow him with a fullish delivery, Khawaja flicks it away behind square and races to 24. All have come in boundaries for Khawaja

2.3 - Nehra to Finch, 1 run, under-edge rolls to the keeper and Dhoni fumbles to allow a run. Good length delivery outside off stump, Finch tries to cut, doesn't bounce much and takes the edge, Dhoni isn't low enough to stop the ball

2.2 - Nehra to Finch, FOUR, that's not middled but it's good enough to go for four. Short of a length delivery outside off stump, Finch backed away and then had to reach out for it, toe-ended the slap and found the gap at cover-point

2.1 - Nehra to Finch, no run, oh how did that miss the leg stump? Finch is very lucky to get away with it. He walked right across the sticks, Nehra bowled the short of length inswinger, Finch failed to connect and the ball almost shaved the leg stump, Nehra appeals for caught behind but umpire Kumar Dharmasena says no

Four boundaries in that Bumrah over like the other day. It was Tamim in Bangalore and it's Khawaja now in Mohali. Pressure on India very early.

Khawaja 20(11) Finch 1(1) Bumrah 1-0-17-0

1.6 - Bumrah to Khawaja, FOUR, classy shot! Khawaja shows that he's not all about muscling the ball. With third man inside the ring, Khawaja waits for the ball to come and opens the face of the bat at the last moment to guide it for four

1.5 - Bumrah to Khawaja, no run, short of length delivery outside off stump, Khawaja pushes it to cover

1.4 - Bumrah to Khawaja, FOUR, Bumrah goes round the wicket but the change of angle doesn't work. Bumrah drops it slightly short and that's good enough for Khawaja, who is in great form. Rocks back and pulls it behind square for four. It's a hat-trick of fours

1.3 - Bumrah to Khawaja, FOUR, this time Khawaja goes wide of mid-on and it's four more. Length ball again from Bumrah, Khawaja swings across the line, beats the man at mid-on and you can't stop those on this outfield

1.2 - Bumrah to Khawaja, FOUR, he's hit this over the infield and it's racing away for four. Good length delivery just outside off stump, Khawaja doesn't go hard on the slog, times it sweetly though and clears mid-wicket

1.1 - Bumrah to Finch, 1 run, a tight run but Finch survives. Needed a direct-hit from Pandya to make things interesting. Finch walks towards the bowler and knocks the short of length delivery to mid-on, Pandya has a shy at the non-striker's end but misses. Looked like Finch was anyway in though

Jasprit Bumrah, right-arm medium, comes into the attack

0.6 - Nehra to Khawaja, no run, now another ripper of a delivery to round off an over. Must say that this is an excellent comeback from Nehra, after being thrashed for four first ball. Everything so right about this ball. Good length angled in, Khawaja had to play at it, the ball pitched just outside off stump and shaped away very late beating the batsman all ends up

0.5 - Nehra to Khawaja, no run, beaten. This time Khawaja plays outside the line of this outswinging length delivery, he was slashing at it and it beat the inside edge of the bat

0.4 - Nehra to Khawaja, no run, width offered outside off stump and cut away nicely, the ball bounces at a good height and goes straight to backward point. A couple of yards either side of the fielder would have been runs

0.3 - Nehra to Khawaja, no run, aaah! Top ball from Nehra. That should get him going. Great away-swing on this good length delivery outside off stump, Khawaja had to play at it with the left-armer's angle from over the wicket, the ball left him very late and opened up him completely, could so easily have had the outside edge to Dhoni

0.2 - Nehra to Khawaja, no run, good comeback from Nehra. Had the batsman in two minds there. Lovely outswing on this length delivery, Khawaja was thinking about the cut shot and then pulled out of the shot at the last moment making it look very awkward

0.1 - Nehra to Khawaja, FOUR, that's a great start for Australia and an absolutely poor start from Nehra. No pace at all on this short of length delivery, looked like a gentle loosener. Got to be warmed up nicely for the first ball and run in hard. Khawaja had enough to rock back and pull to the left of the man at mid-wicket, who had no chance

Khawaja and Finch are at the crease. Khawaja is on strike. Nehra will open the attack

We have been privileged enough to witness something very special today. That innings from Kohli will be etched into the annals of cricket forever. The composure he showed in the face of crisis, never playing a shot in anger, he's just a freak. That shot off Faulkner which he powered over long-off with his wrists in the 18th over - that was the highlight. It was outrageous. Especially with the history those two share. And then for Faulkner to congratulate Kohli and help him up on his feet while the latter was overcome with the victory, sheer class. I'd better stop drooling over Kohli's batting. Also, this has turned out to be Shane Watson's final match in international cricket. And what a performance he gave today. Put everything on the line. We'll surely miss having him around. His big lunge forward, his front foot pull and .. his DRS reviews too. Anyway, the bottom line is that India are through to the semis and will be facing the West Indies on March 31. That's all we have for tonight. Just soak it all in! Goodbye!

Lets glance through some of the tweets from this game:

Alex Hales: This is different level!#kohli

Greame Smith: Man I'm enjoying this batting @imVkohli #T20WorldCup #IndvsAus #kohli

Harsha Bhogle: Kohli has had another run chase for dinner..

Shane Warne: Wow, that was absolute class from Virat.Congrats India on your win. Congrats to @ShaneRWatson33 on a wonderful career, hold your head high

Sanath Jayasuriya: What a player he is. Well done young man. Good luck @imVkohli #T20 WC #IndvsAus

VVS Laxman: Take a bow @imVkohli more magnificent knock under pressure Not sure he knows the meaning of Pressure #IndvsAus #T20 WC

Russel Arnold: He is an unbelievable Player !!! He is many cuts above the rest.. Composure was amazing ..Kohli you beauty #T20 WC only the Win Predictor knew

Smith: "That was a serious innings from Kohli under pressure. He just hit everything out of the middle and found the gaps. Zampa could have bowled one more over. I thought the quicks bowling their slower balls into the wicket could be handy but it wasn't to be that way [explaining not bowling Zampa out]. But Virat played an unbelievable knock. I thought 160 was about par. And it took an incredible innings from Kohli to take them over the line. I thought we were in a very good position at one point - where they needed over 2 a ball. We let ourselves down in the game against NZ. We were always chasing it from there. Just weren't able to do it tonight. It's been great fun to play here at the WC. It's a great place to play cricket. Wish India all the best."

Dhoni: "I think it was a tough score. If you see their batting, first 6 overs they got close to 60 runs. After that we bowled well but still they got to 160. It was difficult to hit from the back of a length. There was not enough bounce to pull it away. But looking at the side boundaries, we felt we could put their fielders under pressure. It's not the first time I have enjoyed his batting from the non-striker's end. He has done it consistently from the last 2-3 years. We have seen him evolve as a cricketer. He has kept improving his game. He is very hungry to score for the team. Now the other batsmen need to step up too. Can't always rely on him. I feel that we are batting at 65% of our potential barring Virat. Yuvraj Singh was very good with the ball and I felt that Pandya bowled well too. Yes it was a wicket where their natural length helps them. After the first six overs, they were not able to rotate strike. The credit needs to go to the bowlers for pulling the game back from the 6th over to the 14th over. Running between wickets is a key aspect of modern cricket. Every side has fielders who are not very quick. The moment you convert singles to doubles off the best fielders, the others get demotivated. More often than not they know that if these batsmen are hitting to me, it's an easy two."

Kohli: "Thank you. Firstly, I would like to thank the crowd for coming out and supporting us; the support today was unbelievable. They (the crowd) push you through tough times. This is what you play cricket for. You need challenges in every game because they improve you as a cricketer, but you don't like these situations because they are tough. I don't know what to say, because I am overwhelmed by the situation we were in and to win from there was quite an effort. MS kept me calm in the end; I could have got overexcited. Overall good team effort and very happy with my personal contribution. Yuvraj wanted to see where he was going after he twisted his ankle. But he stuck in and a few boundaries helped, and then he decided to go for the team's cause. He perished but he made a great call. He wasn't able to push as you want him to push as a runner. He's such an explosive player that you don't want to have him at 60-70%. Me and Dhoni have always run well between the wickets. We have a great understanding about where to hit the ball. You do gun for that and all those fitness regimes paid off tonight. When I'm tired, I should be able to run as fast as when I'm on zero. This innings has to be in the Top 3. But I am a bit emotional, so I will put this on top. Against world-class Australia, a quarterfinal and at home. Mohali has always been special and the semifinal in 2011 was special too. The electrifying atmosphere in the stadium helps you push through."

Virat Kohli gets the Man of the Match for his 51-ball 82

India started the chase nervously. There are two unsaid rules when chasing a modest total - You either get ahead of the rate, or you keep wickets for a late assault. India did neither. Their top order took their time early on, went nowhere and forced themselves into rash shots to throw it away and slumped to 49-3 around the 8-over mark. What ensued was a horror combination of bizarre and frustrating. Yuvraj hurt his ankle very early in the piece. Despite clearly in pain, he decided to battle it through. Thus began the ceremonial sacrifice of twos. The run rate kept growing and Yuvraj just couldn't tee off. When he departed, India were left with 67 to get in 6 overs. With Dhoni joining Virat, the pair started thundering between the wickets, tearing the pitch off. Ones became twos and the urgency was brilliant to watch. A massive 19-run over with 39 needed from 18 balls tilted it heavily in India's favour as Kohli just showboated with those outrageous strokes to whip Faulkner apart.

Virat Kohli. The whole of India is crooning to his name. They are writing songs about him. They are probably renaming cities after him. Wow. What a knock! Just how good is this man?

Lionel Messi! Michael Jordan and Virat Kohli! Geniuses who will step up when others find it difficult to even contemplate doing such a thing. When the going gets tough, expect these guys to bail their side out of trouble and now Kohli has joined that elite list. When the world's spotlight is on you and a billion expectations follow you, the pressure is unthinkable but Kohli seems to revel in it and inevitably takes his side over the line. And the bigger the opposition, the grander the stage, comes out the very best performance. Phew I'm lost for words. I can't conjure up anymore! I give up. But let me take a break and rest my tired fingers. One hell of a game and one hell of a player!

Virat-Superman-Kohli! Perhaps we should refer him like that from now on. What to say about this innings! Even if I use all the vocabulary that I possess, still I wouldn't be able to do justice to that knock. And how many times has he done that in a chase. Probably 30 years down the line, when coaches and analysts want a template on how to chase, then they will play endless videos of how Kohli used to do it. In the 90s there was Michael Bevan who was regarded as the best finisher in a chase, then came Dhoni, but Kohli has surpassed them all. Endless list of games he has won and today he won it with pure cricketing shots, strokes that would not have been out of place in a Test match. He seems to do it at will too - a sign of a champion!

19.1 - Faulkner to Dhoni, FOUR, India win! And they are through to the semis. Kohli is a bit emotional as he sinks to his knees and laps it all up. How many times has Dhoni done it for India - hit the winning run for his side that is. Low full toss outside off, Dhoni swings across the line, the bottom hand comes off but he has found the gap at wide long-on. The ball runs away to the fence and the celebrations begin. As soon as the ball went to the fence, Kohli was on his knees and flung the gloves away. Then rises to his feet and pumps his fist, before pointing to the sky - is he thanking his late father? Could well be. MS is as cool as ever, just hugs his partner. Ravi Shaz is a pumped up man, a ferocious fist pump both with his left-hand and right, with gritted teeth. That is the celebration of the night for me! As Kohli walks back, out comes Harbhajan and lifts the hero of the night. He does love lifting people does Bhajji. A hint - cast your mind back to the T20 League. I don't want to get naughty here. Kohli looked a bit sheepish when Bhajji lifted him. But such a sport is the offie - the seniormost guy in the team.

Kohli 82(51) Dhoni 14(9) Coulter-Nile 4-0-33-1

18.6 - Coulter-Nile to Kohli, FOUR, sorry. I give up. I'm running out of superlatives. I'm not Kohli. I'm just a normal human being. Not superhuman like Kohli is. Look at that shot. Overpitched alright, but needs to be hit and Kohli has laced that past a diving cover. The fielder did his best to stop that but such was the timing and power that it rocketed away. Fourth boundary of the over and India are almost home and dry

Now Dhoni has a word with Kohli, to calm him down. That's where Dhoni plays such a cool hand

18.5 - Coulter-Nile to Kohli, no run, now rushes out and is beaten by the slower short ball, missed the pull

18.4 - Coulter-Nile to Kohli, FOUR, Sunny Gavaskar is "wowing" on air. "Wow, wow" he says twice or thrice. This is unbelievable batting. From a different planet this lad. Mark my words. He is batting on another level. This shot is from another galaxy as well. Steps out to a length ball and knifes it over a leaping extra cover. Sweeper was just a mere spectator. Look at Kohli's face. He is aggression and concentration personified

18.3 - Coulter-Nile to Kohli, FOUR, poor delivery from Coulter-Nile and he knows it. Turns around and walks back to his mark. Short down leg, with fine leg inside the circle, Kohli had to get it past the man and does so, swivelling on the stroke and pulling with power. No chance for deep square leg. Is that the game?

18.2 - Coulter-Nile to Kohli, FOUR, and he makes up for it with a fabulous drive behind point. The crowd are going mad at Mohali. Half of them may need medical attention after the game. This is full and outside off, Kohli opens the face of the bat on the square drive and sweeper cover has no chance. All along the ground too. Now India's game to lose

18.1 - Coulter-Nile to Kohli, no run, good start for Australia. Kohli early into the swipe to leg, beaten by the slower one. A dot to start

Nathan Coulter-Nile [3.0-0-17-1] is back into the attack

Now Patrick Farhart is out again. Mahendra Singh Dhoni has back issues. Some time out for Kohli who must be sweating like a pig out there. But does he care?

Dhoni 14(9) Kohli 66(45) Faulkner 3-0-31-1

17.6 - Faulkner to Dhoni, 2 runs, what running from Kohli. He is living on pure adrenaline and testosterone. And whatever else that purrs him on. He is like a mad sprinter doing a 100m dash. Usain Bolt - eat your heart out. Tyson Gay - find another profession. This is just a tap from Dhoni and it has gone to Warner one of the world's best. If not the best. But Kohli just put his head down and raced back for the second. Makes it easily

17.5 - Faulkner to Kohli, leg byes, 1 run, Faulkner follows Kohli with a fuller one. Kohli misses the swipe to leg, is hit outside leg. Extra taken

17.4 - Faulkner to Kohli, 2 runs, flicks a low full toss wide of long-on and it's an easy two. Sensible and doing it easy

17.3 - Faulkner to Kohli, SIX, has that gone all the way? Yes it has. What is this man made of? Cometh the chase and he comes alive. Is he the best of all-time? Could well be. But that is a debate for another day. A little shimmy down the track and picks the slower delivery, lofts through the line and the ball goes up in the night sky and when it comes down, it has fallen beyond long-off. The fielder was interested for a while, but it kept on going beyond his reach. Kohli jumped in the air and punched his fist in delight. Pure adrenaline on display and boy is he pumped or what. Incredible stuff out there at Mohali

17.2 - Faulkner to Kohli, FOUR, he is doing it for India. What a player this fellow is. Full and wide outside off, Kohli opens the face of the bat at the last moment and gets it wide of point. Sweeper cover runs to his left and dives, but the pace on the shot beats the dive. Ravi Shaz claps while the Indian women's team are all smiles. Meanwhile the crowd go "Kohli, Kohli"

17.1 - Faulkner to Kohli, FOUR, back of the hand slower delivery, Kohli swipes and gets four. Picks it and hits it hard, beats deep square leg running to his left. There was no dive, not sure even that would've proved successful. Just the start India needed

Dhoni 12(8) Kohli 50(40) Watson 4-0-23-2

16.6 - Watson to Dhoni, FOUR, he has missed the yorker and Dhoni edges one for four. Length delivery outside off, slashed away and the thick outside edge runs away to the third man fence. India needed that. Is that Watson's last ball in international cricket? Only time will tell

16.5 - Watson to Kohli, leg byes, 1 run, and again. Watson is proving to be the hero for Australia. Low full toss, targetting Kohli's boots, he swipes and misses, going down, a leg-bye

16.4 - Watson to Dhoni, 1 run, what a ball that is. The yorker and tailing back in, Dhoni can only jam it down to mid-wicket. That crept under the bat. Lovely bowling

16.3 - Watson to Kohli, 1 run, look at Kohli. He isn't happy with the square leg umpire for not calling that one bouncer for the over. He doesn't even know that he has got to a fifty. Immediately demonstrates his anger and has a word with the umpire. Dharmasena explains the decision. Still no bat raise. He doesn't care about the landmark. Dug in short on the stumps, good short ball. Kohli swatted that like a Tennis forehand

Agar is on the field, not sure for whom

16.2 - Watson to Dhoni, 1 run, short outside off, slashed to sweeper cover, hit hard, but straight to the fielder

16.1 - Watson to Dhoni, no run, precious dot. Almost a run as Watson failed to pick it up with his right-hand. Tailing back in and Dhoni jams the big hit onto his boot, the ball rolls back down the wicket with lots of backspin. But the ball doesn't go too far out of Watson's reach and the batsmen don't risk a run

Kohli 49(38) Dhoni 6(4) Hazlewood 4-0-38-0

15.6 - Hazlewood to Kohli, 2 runs, make that another two. Kohli skipping out and flicking behind square, brilliant running between the wickets again. Kohli must be a tired man if it continues like this. But he won't care a jot, if his side are victors at the end of the game

15.5 - Hazlewood to Kohli, 2 runs, there is that bottom hand again. Makes room and crashes a drive to sweeper cover. Dhoni is always quick and makes it easily beating Finch's throw

15.4 - Hazlewood to Kohli, FOUR, that came off the inside half of the bat, but Kohli's bottom hand is so strong. Muscular and powerful, he uses his feet and swipes over mid-wicket. Expertly played wide of long-on and split deep mid-wicket too. Kohli is doing it again for India. Took the length ball from the stumps and put it away

15.3 - Hazlewood to Kohli, 2 runs, charges out and thumps a drive to sweeper cover. Now Finch is under pressure and fumbles, gives away an extra run. Can't afford to do so. But such is pressure, makes the greatest go weak in their knees

15.2 - Hazlewood to Kohli, 2 runs, Kohli has put in a full-length dive to make it. But is helped by a poor throw from Maxwell at deep mid-wicket. It was short-arm jabbed and a good throw, flat over the stumps to Nevill could've caught Kohli short, for he was struggling. Realised that and put his skates on, before diving to make it. The throw was well wide of Nevill

15.1 - Hazlewood to Kohli, no run, Hazlewood goes "ooooh" after Kohli missed an inside out drive over cover. Kohli shadow-practices the shot after being beaten. He charged out and spotted the slower delivery, just didn't make contact

14.6 - Watson to Kohli, 1 run, pitched up outside off, Kohli gets forward and drives to long-off, will retain strike

14.5 - Watson to Dhoni, 1 run, "no, no" was the call from Dhoni as he flashed the length delivery outside off to the right of a diving backward point. NCN dives and can only half-stop it. That allows the quick single

14.4 - Watson to Dhoni, FOUR, Dhoni delivers the pull and gets four. Watson is a disappointed man. Short delivery on the stumps, Dhoni swivels and pulls behind square, beats long leg running to his left. That was expertly placed in the gap. Should take some pressure off Kohli at the other end

14.3 - Watson to Kohli, 1 run, Kohli punches a length ball on off to long-on, wanted two as soon as he hit it, but Warner attacked the ball and that meant it was only a single

14.2 - Watson to Dhoni, 1 run, Dhoni uses his feet and works the length delivery to long-on

He doesn't want this game to be the last of his international career and is doing his darndest best to pull Australia over the line. Sensational catch from him running to his right at cover. But is this a blessing in disguise for India. Yuvraj was struggling to run and wasn't timing the ball as well. Kohli was increasingly getting frustrated at the running bit. So may work out in favor of India. Yuvraj early into the chip, but looked like he may have got away, but Watson didn't give up, ran and stuck his right hand out to pull off a blinder. He gets up and roars, with his veins sticking out. May have popped one for such was the ferociousness of that roar. Trademark Watto. Yuvraj c Watson b Faulkner 21(18) [4s-1 6s-1]

Faulkner to Yuvraj, THAT'S OUT!! Caught!!

13.5 - Faulkner to Kohli, 1 run, again pace off the ball, Kohli comes down the track and mistimes the flat-batted hit, the ball rolls to long-off. They take a single

13.4 - Faulkner to Yuvraj, 1 run, sits back and waits for the ball, this is a cutter outside off, Yuvraj swats it wide of long-on and is down on the ground as he attempted a second. Worrying signs for India

13.3 - Faulkner to Kohli, 1 run, Smith has his hands on his head. He knows that was close. Kohli charged Faulkner and aimed to swipe to leg, got a thick inside edge that eluded leg stump and beat the diving Nevill to his left. Lucky there Kohli

Now Faulkner is round the wicket to Kohli

13.2 - Faulkner to Yuvraj, 1 run, backs away to leg and is followed by Faulkner, he punches it past Kohli and gets a single

This is make or break time for India. The asking rate is getting higher and the Aussies are slowing things down as well. The pitch is holding up and making life difficult for the batsmen. The injury to Yuvraj is another area of concern for India as well. But he is battling on gamely as he always does. Kohli will be the man again

12.5 - Zampa to Kohli, no run, cuts and finds backward point. Either side and it was a boundary

12.4 - Zampa to Yuvraj, leg byes, 1 run, loud shout for lbw, but that has pitched outside leg. Just a fraction outside leg. Pitches short and beats Yuvraj on the pull, rapped on the pads, but Dharmasena got that spot on. Great call

12.3 - Zampa to Yuvraj, SIX, a gift from Zampa and Yuvraj on one leg will hit that at the age of 70 over the fence. He will do that in his sleep too. Just a lovely clean bat swing and the ball soars over wide long-on. Didn't even hit that hard, but when has Yuvraj belted the ball, he has always relied on timing. Has a steely look on his face after getting six

12.2 - Zampa to Yuvraj, no run, the googly, shortish outside off, chopped away to backward point

11.4 - Maxwell to Kohli, 1 run, now rocks back and punches to long-off

11.3 - Maxwell to Kohli, 2 runs, nudges a two to mid-wicket, great running by Yuvraj too. He is struggling but has made it well, Maxwell gave chase and fired the throw to Smith at the bowler's end but Yuvraj was quick too

11.2 - Maxwell to Kohli, SIX, Maxwell shakes his head and is down on his haunches. He can't believe that it has gone for six. Neither do I. It looked like Kohli had holed out after stepping out and mistiming the lofted hit, the bat turned too on impact as he was beaten in the flight, but it kept on sailing all the way and comfortably cleared long-off

10.2 - Zampa to Yuvraj, 1 run, uses his feet and swipes the short ball to deep square leg

10.1 - Zampa to Yuvraj, no run, so similar to MS' stumping of Sabbir the other night. But Nevill didn't whip the bails off at the exact moment like how the Indian captain did. Comprehensively beaten on the outside edge and Yuvraj's foot lifted for a moment, but came back in at the exact time when Nevill whipped the bails off

Has Nevill done a Mahendra Singh Dhoni? NO! Yuvraj is not out

Adam Zampa, right-arm leg break, comes into the attack

Kohli 19(17) Yuvraj 9(7) Maxwell 1-0-6-0

9.6 - Maxwell to Kohli, 2 runs, now two it is. But Kohli wants three, Yuvraj puts his hand up and refuses it. Flicked wide of Warner at wide long-on. There is a fumble as Warner charges and misses the ball

9.5 - Maxwell to Yuvraj, 1 run, flat on the stumps, whipped to deep mid-wicket

9.4 - Maxwell to Kohli, 1 run, "two" was the call from Kohli as he flicked that wide of long-on. But Yuvraj is in no position to come back, Kohli just puts his head down and contains all the anger within himself. He doesn't want to say a word to his senior mate. But the fielder was Finch and it went to his left

9.3 - Maxwell to Kohli, no run, uses his feet and isn't to the pitch of it, dabs it back to Maxwell. Off the toe end of the bat

9.2 - Maxwell to Yuvraj, 1 run, Yuvraj gets forward and softly taps that in front of cover-point. A quick single taken

9.1 - Maxwell to Kohli, 1 run, sliding on and Kohli employs the short-arm jab to deep mid-wicket

Glenn Maxwell, right-arm off break, comes into the attack

Again the physio Patrick Farhart is out there, stretching the left ankle. Jinks is out there helping Yuvraj out with all his gear. As selfless a cricketer as they come. One of my favorites along with Che Pujara in the current Indian team. Can't get two more foot soldiers for the country than that duo. Yuvraj punches gloves with Kohli and is ready to go

Smith will do everything he can to slow the game down. Plays into his hands that move. India have problems. Yuvraj is hobbling while at the other end Kohli is all adrenaline. Makes sense for Smith to play the waiting game and not rush things. That's what Kohli wants. To go with the flow. The injury to Yuvraj will affect Kohli too. Will play on his patience and concentration

Kohli 15(13) Yuvraj 7(5) Coulter-Nile 3-0-17-1

8.6 - Coulter-Nile to Kohli, 1 run, Kohli continues on serenely though. A little shuffle and a flick from off and middle to deep square leg

8.5 - Coulter-Nile to Yuvraj, 1 run, Yuvraj is in pain. He is hobbling again. Doesn't look good for India this. Tucked to the right of the helmeted man at backward short leg, the ball goes through the fielder and the single is taken. Should he just go off and come back later? Decision time!

The short leg is now at a backward short leg, in a deepish position

8.4 - Coulter-Nile to Yuvraj, no run, dug in short on the stumps, Yuvraj rises tall to quell it down

Smith is taking his time to set the field. Making Yuvraj wait. Smith moves himself from slip, wanders to mid-wicket, has a chat and then runs back to his original position. Coulter-Nile to come round the wicket. Same field

8.3 - Coulter-Nile to Kohli, 1 run, "two" was the call from Kohli as he drove that beautifully on the rise to deep cover. But Yuvraj can't run fluently as he has done his ankle, so they settle for a single

8.3 - Coulter-Nile to Kohli, wide, slips it down leg

Replays show that as Yuvraj went back to play that, his left ankle twisted and that's why he was in pain. After a brief interlude, Yuvraj is back on his feet and ready to go again. Meanwhile the crowd flash their mobile torches. Something to keep themselves entertained. Kohli to face as Coulter-Nile is ready at his top of his mark

8.2 - Coulter-Nile to Yuvraj, 1 run, what has Yuvraj done here? He is hobbling and down on the ground. Tucked the length delivery to fine leg and winced in pain after taking the first step. I thought initially that he collided with Coulter-Nile. Nothing of that sort happened. He seems to have done his ankle and the physio is out there to tend to him

8.1 - Coulter-Nile to Yuvraj, FOUR, streaky but four. Angled across Yuvraj, who flashes and gets a thick outside edge. Would've carried to a third/fourth slip. But this isn't a Test match to be having that sort of a field. Beats the full-length dive from third man. Yuvraj will take it, but Australia are going for it, trying to bomb Yuvraj out

Nathan Coulter-Nile [2.0-0-8-1] is back into the attack

Kohli 13(11) Yuvraj 1(1) Watson 2-0-8-2

7.6 - Watson to Kohli, no run, length delivery on off, stump-to-stump line, defended. End of another wicket-taking over from Watson. He for sure is doing it for the Aussies

7.5 - Watson to Yuvraj, 1 run, and immediately he walks towards the bowler and tucks it wide of short leg, is off the mark

A deep short leg in for Yuvi. Plus a slip

Yuvraj Singh, left handed bat, comes to the crease

7.4 - Watson to Raina, out Caught by Nevill!! I'm tired of seeing Raina getting out to the short ball. Lost count of the number of times he has been dismissed to that type of delivery. Would love to chew my stats editor - Deepu's brain to see if he can get a percentage on how many times Raina has got out to the short ball. That is for another day though. Watson picks up his second wicket and roars again with clenched fists. Typical Watson reaction. This was the slower short ball down leg, nothing delivery but Raina got inside the line to pull and gloved it to Nevill. The finger went up in a flash. Raina did all the right things there, was trying to roll his wrists on the shot, but played it a bit late, had he pulled a bit early, he may have got away with it. Australia fighting back tremendously well here. Raina just puts his head down and walks back with a forlon look on his face. Raina c Nevill b Watson 10(7) [4s-1]

Watson to Raina, THAT'S OUT!! Caught!!

7.3 - Watson to Raina, 2 runs, brilliant running from Raina and Kohli. Especially Raina as he tucks the low full toss through mid-wicket. Faulkner left it to Finch running in, but easily done in the end

7.2 - Watson to Kohli, 1 run, on the pads, clipped to deep square leg, turns the strike over

7.1 - Watson to Raina, 1 run, dug in short on the stumps, Raina swivels and rolls his wrists on the pull to send it to deep backward square leg

Over: 7 1 IND 45/2
Raina 7(4) Kohli 12(9) Faulkner 1-0-8-0

6.6 - Faulkner to Raina, 1 run, length delivery outside off, Raina stabs that awkwardly, but wide of backward point for a single

6.5 - Faulkner to Raina, FOUR, that is a very lucky boundary for Raina. He tends to push hard at balls early on. Not on this wicket, this is holding up and nearly spoons a catch to cover. But luckily for him, the ball goes over the man and the quick outfield takes it away from mid-off. We saw Raina get out against New Zealand playing with hard hands, does the same to a slower delivery outside off, but it was in the gap. There was a big shout of "catch" but Hazlewood lost the race

6.4 - Faulkner to Raina, 2 runs, "push him" shouts Kohli to Raina and it's an easy two. Length delivery outside off, Raina shuffles across and clips it behind square, well placed for two

6.3 - Faulkner to Kohli, 1 run, sliding across Kohli, who opens the face of the bat to guide it to third man

Replays show that the ball crept under Rohit's bat to hit the stumps

6.2 - Faulkner to Kohli, no run, slower delivery on middle and leg, flicked gently to mid-wicket

Suresh Raina, left handed bat, comes to the crease

5.5 - Watson to Rohit, out Bowled!! "Come on" screams Watto with his arms raised in triumph. That is a warcry from the veteran. The mute button has been pressed at the PCA stadium in Mohali. Watson has deceived Rohit completely. The batsman stepped out, made room while doing so but Watson slipped in the cutter, the ball beat the top edge and fell on the stumps. Rohit was batting sensibly and didn't try to do anything fancy all the while, but a sudden rush of blood has consumed him. There was no need to do that for the asking rate was not out of control and there is Kohli at the other end, doing what he does best. But how often have seen Watson do this for Australia. Simple line and length, stump-to-stump line, allow the batsmen to make mistakes and picks his wickets that way. And crucial ones at that too. Replays show that the ball crept under Rohit's bat to hit the stumps. Rohit b Watson 12(17) [4s-1]

Watson to Rohit, THAT'S OUT!! Bowled!!

5.4 - Watson to Rohit, no run, slight tail back in for Watson, on the toes, full, Rohit flicks and finds mid-wicket

5.3 - Watson to Kohli, 1 run, another cutter on middle and leg, Kohli shuffles across and clips with the angle to deep backward square leg

5.2 - Watson to Rohit, 1 run, cutter on off, Rohit nudges with a closed face and gets a single to deep square leg

Rohit 11(14) Kohli 9(4) Hazlewood 3-0-26-0

4.6 - Hazlewood to Rohit, no run, short of length and forces Rohit to defend back down the track. A dot to end the over

4.5 - Hazlewood to Kohli, 1 run, a dab and a run to the right of point. Kohli hesitated for a while but done quite easily in the end

4.4 - Hazlewood to Kohli, FOUR, now Nasser on air is out of superlatives after watching that shot. This is even better than the last one. This line has got Kohli out many times. Full and the sucker delivery outside off, lured Kohli into the drive, but he has timed the pants off that. Square driven to the left of backward point and third man had no chance. Opened the bat face at the last moment to hit the gap and the crowd are loving this. Off goes Kohli and India have got this under control for the moment

4.3 - Hazlewood to Kohli, FOUR, "He for sure has a good bat" chimes Brett Lee on air. He is gasping for breath after that shot. That's Kohli at his very best. Full and around off, he shuffles across and that allows him the room to play his favorite flick. Just a gentle roll of the wrists and the ball purrs across the turf through mid-wicket. That's a Test match stroke in a T20I. All class from the little genius

A slip in for Kohli

4.2 - Hazlewood to Kohli, no run, pitched up outside off, in the corridor of uncertainty, where Kohli has a weakness. But he stretches right forward and opens the face of the bat to push it to backward point. Played away from the body, but was well in control

4.1 - Hazlewood to Rohit, 1 run, sliding onto middle and leg, Rohit nudges a single to deep backward square leg

3.6 - Coulter-Nile to Rohit, 1 run, Rohit retains the strike with a single to mid-wicket

3.5 - Coulter-Nile to Dhawan, out Caught by Khawaja!! The extra pace of Coulter-Nile has done it. He is a skiddly bowler and not easy to pull/hook unless you pick the length early and be in a position like Rohit was off the first ball of the over. This short ball hurries Dhawan on the pull and he completely loses his shape, top-edges it and short fine backpedals to take a swirler reverse cup. That wasn't an easy catch but Khawaja judged it well. Australia needed that for Dhawan was looking dangerous and always does well in big games in events. Also at Mohali. Remember his debut innings against the same team on Test debut? Still the Aussies will be having nightmares of that knock. Dhawan c Khawaja b Coulter-Nile 13(12) [4s-1 6s-1]

Coulter-Nile to Dhawan, THAT'S OUT!! Caught!!

3.4 - Coulter-Nile to Dhawan, no run, slower delivery on the fourth stump line, Dhawan opens the face of the bat and finds Maxwell at backward point

3.3 - Coulter-Nile to Dhawan, no run, Coulter-Nile bowls the cutter, Dhawan is early into the pull. He expected the ball to come on quicker and rise higher. But this sticks on the pitch and beats Dhawan completely, he is through the shot way too early, takes a painful blow on the stomach/rib area

3.2 - Coulter-Nile to Rohit, 1 run, goes for an encore and that's right off the toe-end. The ball dribbles to deep mid-wicket

3.1 - Coulter-Nile to Rohit, FOUR, that's a front foot pull. Rohit is India's best player of the short ball. Not Kohli. That is some statement. But that is a fact as well. This isn't a bad delivery, on a back of a length and on the stumps, but the key is Rohit picks the length so early, bit of pre-meditation involved there, but since he picked the length, slammed the pull over mid-wicket, one bounce over the ropes. Nearly went all the way. So what will Coulter-Nile do now?

Dhawan 13(9) Rohit 4(9) Hazlewood 2-0-16-0

2.6 - Hazlewood to Dhawan, no run, well bowled! Saw Dhawan advancing, bowled the cutter and followed the batsman too, in the end, Dhawan has to adjust and does so, pushes it to cover. Good comeback by Hazlewood after being hit for a huge six

2.5 - Hazlewood to Dhawan, no run, no room to work with for Dhawan. Length delivery on the stumps, he defends to cover

2.4 - Hazlewood to Rohit, 1 run, length delivery outside off, Rohit softly defends to short cover. Easy single as the fielders are back on the edge of the ring. This is very sensible batting from both Rohit and Dhawan

2.3 - Hazlewood to Dhawan, 1 run, cutter outside off, Dhawan opens the face of the bat and runs it down to third man

2.2 - Hazlewood to Dhawan, SIX, that has come out of nowhere. Typical Dhawan. Length delivery on middle, he swings across the line and connects beautifully. There was Maxwell at deep square leg, but he was just a spectator. Watched the ball sail over his head. Lovely sound when ball met bat

2.1 - Hazlewood to Dhawan, no run, fullish on middle, Dhawan's bat turns on impact, mistimes the drive to mid-off, sends Rohit back

2.1 - Hazlewood to Dhawan, wide, down leg, Dhawan swings and misses. Hazlewood is down on his followthrough. But no damage done

Rohit 3(8) Dhawan 6(4) Coulter-Nile 1-0-2-0

1.6 - Coulter-Nile to Rohit, no run, that's extravagant and lavish from Rohit. On a length outside off, he plays a flamboyant cover drive, but picks out cover-point. Good shot for no run

1.5 - Coulter-Nile to Dhawan, 1 run, length delivery on middle and leg, tucked to deep square leg, turns the strike over

1.4 - Coulter-Nile to Rohit, 1 run, short outside off, Rohit lifts one leg up in the air and pulls ala Gordon Greenidge. On the bounce to deep square leg, rolled his wrists on that but still went in the air

1.3 - Coulter-Nile to Rohit, no run, now sensibly leaves the length delivery outside off, watchful

1.2 - Coulter-Nile to Rohit, no run, ooh! This one straightened around off and squared Rohit up, the thick leading edge doesn't go in the air, rolls to the off-side. Rohit was opened up by the late movement, but did well not to flick to leg. That could've proved fatal

1.1 - Coulter-Nile to Rohit, no run, fullish, around off, Rohit doesn't get fully forward, he doesn't need to, the bat comes down in a straight line and he defends to mid-off

Nathan Coulter-Nile, right-arm fast, comes into the attack

Has Smith missed a trick by not opening with a spinner? We have seen that Dhawan struggles against the offie. Nathan McCullum got him out at Nagpur. Perhaps Maxwell should've been given the ball instead of Hazlewood. That's where KW was so good against India, tactically astute

Rohit 2(3) Dhawan 5(3) Hazlewood 1-0-7-0

0.6 - Hazlewood to Rohit, 1 run, slightly iffy from Rohit. Hung his bat out to dry there, but the ball didn't deviate extravagantly off the seam, it pitched on a back of a length outside off, moved a shade away, allowed Rohit to adjust and he dabbed it down to third man

0.5 - Hazlewood to Rohit, no run, pitched up outside off, Rohit leans into a cover drive and finds the fielder

0.4 - Hazlewood to Dhawan, 1 run, now taps and runs to short cover. The fielders are deep in order to prevent the boundary. Allows Dhawan to rock back and play it with soft hands. Easily done in the end

0.3 - Hazlewood to Dhawan, no run, now another good shot but straight to the fielder at mid-on. Full on the stumps, Dhawan gets forward and on-drives sweetly, didn't hit the gap though

0.2 - Hazlewood to Dhawan, FOUR, magnificent shot to get off the mark first ball. That's the perfect delivery for Dhawan first up, just that the ball didn't move away off the seam or do anything out of the ordinary. Sat up to be driven through cover and Dhawan just blasted that after getting forward. Not a muscle moved and Dhawan will gain a lot of confidence from that. The crowd are roaring

0.1 - Hazlewood to Rohit, 1 run, and Rohit is off the mark first ball. Length delivery on middle, didn't do anything fancy, just tucked it through mid-wicket. There is a deep fielder and he keeps it to one

Rohit and Dhawan are at the crease. Rohit is on strike. Hazlewood will open the attack
