The tall Kiwi pacer, Tim Southee has the new nut in his hand. He has looked rusty in this tournament. Today is the day, MUM really need him to stand up and be counted. He has a wide slip in place

The players are back out in the middle. HYD gave a fine exhibition of bowling to keep the MUM camp to a slightly below par total. In their last game against GUJ, MUM put up a slick performance in the field to make GUJ's batsmen earn every run. It was a performance that was worthy of a champion side. This time too, they have to show their mettle in the field to pull things back.

"I bowled well, last two matches I did not bowl well. So I wanted to step up. Being a senior it is a responsibility to step up. I think if you look at the ground we should chase it down. Yeah, he is one of the best, so I was looking to get him out early in the innings (talking about Guptill)," Bhuvneshwar Kumar tells the interviewer near the sidelines.

For HYD, the seamers bowled with discipline and purpose. If Bhuvneshwar was parsimonious, then the duo of Mustafizur and Barindar Sran befuddled the batsmen with their box of tricks. Henriques, too, put up a good show. The track should remain the same for 40 overs and HYD will fancy their chances of chasing it down.

Krunal Pandya and Ambati Rayudu unfurled a volley of strokes to ensure MUM aggregate a fighting total. On a good track for batting, MUM lost wickets at regular intervals and found themselves in a spot of bother. However, it was Krunal, who changed the complexion of the innings by crunching three sixes off Bipul Sharma's final over. His innings was made up of a few orthodox shots sprinkled with slogs and heaves. His partner, Rayudu, played with a calm head on his shoulders and when needed, cracked the big shot.

Krunal Pandya 49(28) Harbhajan 1(3) Bhuvneshwar 4-0-17-1

19.6 - Bhuvneshwar to Krunal Pandya, no run, what a finish to the innings by Bhuvneshwar, bowls a pacy yorker outside off and Pandya cannot squeeze it, does not get anything on it. Pandya wanted to steal a bye but Harbhajan did not respond

19.2 - Bhuvneshwar to Krunal Pandya, 1 run, Pandya is a ball of energy, drills this yorker to long-off and completed the first run. Wanted the second as well but Harbhajan sent him back, made it with a dive in the end

Harbhajan 0(1) Krunal Pandya 44(24) Mustafizur 4-0-32-1

18.6 - Mustafizur to Harbhajan, no run, did it carry? No it did not. Yorker from Mustafizur, Harbhajan dug it out off the base of the bat, the ball just fell short of Mustafizur who dived in front trying to snaffle it inches off the ground. Another brilliant over from HYD's Bangladeshi import

18.6 - Mustafizur to Harbhajan, wide, errs in line this time, bowls a low full toss down the leg-side, wided

Harbhajan Singh, right handed bat, comes to the crease

18.5 - Mustafizur to Pandya, out Bowled!! Cleaned up by a low full toss, it is the pace which got the better of Pandya. Failed to get his bat down in time as he swung at it, but the ball was too quick and evaded his bat to crash onto the base of the middle stump. Pandya b Mustafizur 2(5)

Mustafizur to Pandya, THAT'S OUT!! Bowled!!

18.4 - Mustafizur to Krunal Pandya, 1 run, full toss on the stumps and Krunal mistimes it off the base of the bat to long-on

18.2 - Mustafizur to Krunal Pandya, 1 run, yorker again, all K Pandya can do is squeeze it to third man for a single

18.1 - Mustafizur to Krunal Pandya, 2 runs, Pandya brothers run this couple like flash. It was a yorker length delivery outside off and Pandya moved across to clip it through mid-wicket, the fielder was in the deep and they stole two

A good over from HYD's point of view. Just 7 came off it

Hardik Pandya 1(3) Krunal Pandya 40(21) Barinder 4-0-28-3

17.6 - Barinder to Pandya, no run, and a slower one this time, the line was outside off and Pandya wildly swung at it, did not get any part of the willow

17.5 - Barinder to Pandya, no run, length ball that is angled across Pandya, he flashes hard but can only meet thin air

17.4 - Barinder to Krunal Pandya, 1 run, fuller length delivery outside off and Pandya cracks the drive, diving effort from Morgan at mid-off saved a four perhaps

17.4 - Barinder to Krunal Pandya, wide, too short and Pandya throws his bat on the pull, did not connect and it has been called a wide

17.3 - Barinder to Krunal Pandya, FOUR, that is so Caribbean from senior Pandya, moved across on this length delivery and whipped it off his pads, there was a fielder cutting across from deep square leg but had no chance in the end

17.2 - Barinder to Pandya, 1 run, full toss outside off, Pandya throws his bat at it, gets it off the toe end to third man

Hardik Pandya, right handed bat, comes to the crease

17.1 - Barinder to Rayudu, out Caught by Henriques!! That is what Hyderabad needed. They have broken the partnership - a dangerous looking one. Nothing exceptional with the delivery, full outside off and Rayudu sliced it, just did not manage to find the gap and hit it straight to the fielder at point, who accepted it gleefully. 16.6 - Mustafizur to Rayudu, 1 run, yorker again Rayudu dug it towards long-on, will keep the strike

16.5 - Mustafizur to Rayudu, no run, this is what he is famous for. Slower ones which deceive the batsmen in the death overs, Rayudu stepped down and then wanted to steer it fine, was beaten and the ball just bounced over the stumps

Change of gloves for Rayudu

16.4 - Mustafizur to Rayudu, 2 runs, exceptional running between the Mumbai pair, it was a full toss and Rayudu mistimed the swing to deep mid-wicket. The fielder there had a bit of work to do and the duo cashed in, Rayudu was running to the danger end but made it with a dive in the end

16.3 - Mustafizur to Rayudu, no run, slower ball on the stumps, Rayudu defends it with soft hands

16.2 - Mustafizur to Krunal Pandya, leg byes, 1 run, that might have struck Pandya just outside off and that is what saved him as Rahman appealed. Full toss and Pandya wanted to play it across, missed it and the ball rolled off his pad towards the off-side

16.1 - Mustafizur to Rayudu, 1 run, the ball held a bit in the pitch as Rayudu tried to flick it, sends it uppishly towards long-on

15.5 - Bhuvneshwar to Krunal Pandya, no run, Pandya once again backed away and was outdone by Kumar, he kept it outside off away from his reach and Pandya could not reach it. A golf club would have helped perhaps

15.4 - Bhuvneshwar to Krunal Pandya, 2 runs, back of a length from Bhuvi, Pandya swipes it off the inner part of the bat through mid-wicket, couple taken

15.3 - Bhuvneshwar to Krunal Pandya, FOUR, now he is flaunting what all he has got in his quiver. Yorker outside off and Pandya squeezes it past the fielder at short third man inside the circle

14.4 - Mustafizur to Krunal Pandya, 1 run, low full toss around off and Pandya digs it out, Rahman leaps to get a hand but cannot prevent a single

14.3 - Mustafizur to Rayudu, 1 run, Rayudu gets across the line and works it through backward square leg

13.2 - Bipul Sharma to Rayudu, SIX, Rayudu skips down the track and makes a good connection this time, sends it over the long-on fence for a maximum

13.1 - Bipul Sharma to Krunal Pandya, 1 run, first they made harakiri of a run-out and now of a catch and guess what it is Dhawan who has dropped it. He did not even get his hands to it. Pandya swung across this arm ball and skied it high, Dhawan from extra cover called for it as he ran back but misjudged it completely, allowing Pandya the life-line he did not deserve

Strategic Time-Out in place now. HYD have bowled with zest and vigour and their fielding too has been sharp. As a result, MUM have not been able to get away with a rollicking start. It is for Buttler to show his pyrotechnics and pilot MUM to a total that would give something for the bowlers to defend. A bit of confusion in the middle also did not help MUM's cause

Another outswinger from Bhuvneshwar, Guptill prods forward and looks to defend but ekes out a faint outside edge to the keeper. Guptill wasn't exactly happy with the decision though. Hyderabad are on the points table finally. Mumbai are once again going down the same lane they have found themselves in the last two seasons. We are entering that phase of the tournament where losses will start to hurt more. Of course Rohit Sharma does not want to press the panic button but he will have to before it gets too late for them. See you all tomorrow as Kolkata travel to Mohali to take on Punjab. Goodnight!

David Warner: "I asked them [bowlers] to execute their skills and keep backing themselves. Restricting them to 140 was a great thing. With two batsmen in we were looking to chase something higher than 160 but we came back to restrict them. The last two games we did not bat and bowl well. Key thing today was that the ball swung for 20 overs. Bipul's 3 overs were fantastic. This is about me playing the game at the top of the order and helping the team as much as I can. I ask the top four to bat through so that some one is there at the end. We have got tremendous crowd support here. They always back us."

David Warner is the Man of the Match for his unbeaten 59-ball 90.

Rohit Sharma: "When you have that kind of a score, you can only hope for the bowlers to come out and do the job. But you cannot always expect that from the bowlers. We have got a lot of experience in the squad. But the batsmen are not able to get a big score. We have spoken how one batsman needs to bat through and get big runs. We did not score enough runs in all the three games that we lost. The only game we won, we chased 180-plus and one of the batsmen batted through the innings. I do not want to press the panic button as it is too early. We have been in same situation in the last couple of years. Southee was superb, he swung the ball and got us early wickets. But again 140 was not enough."

Earlier, MUM were let down by the top-order batsmen, who just couldn't make their presence felt on what was a flat deck. If it wasn't for Krunal Pandya's pyrotechnics and some street-smart batting by Rayudu, MUM would have finished with a modest total. The bulk of the credit has to go to HYD's pacers for keeping it tight and using their variations judiciously.

David Warner harvested a quick-fire fifty to propel HYD to their first win of this year's T20 League. HYD needed this win as they had lost their first couple of games. Henriques and Hooda, too, played decent hands, but HYD crossed the finish line mainly riding on Warner's brilliance. He explored all parts of the ground to unfurl a series of shots and scampered between the wickets to run the opposition ragged. For MUM, Tim Southee swung the new ball prodigiously and ended up with three wickets.

17.3 - McClenaghan to Warner, SIX, Hyderabad are home with 7 wickets and more than 2 overs to spare. Finally they are on the points table. Coming to the delivery. A Short one and Warner pulls it over the deep backward square leg fence for a maximum

17.2 - McClenaghan to Warner, no run, round the wicket comes McClenaghan and ends up giving a juicy full toss, Warner mistimes the swing to the fielder at mid-on. Got away for sure

The ball I think has fallen into the pit which they have between the stands and the ground. They will have to get another one
