It's become in-vogue to chase in the T20 League, what with the bevy of wins achieved that way. But then you have to weigh in the cons as well, as in this case, where the opposition racks it up on the scoreboard. Well, for what it's worth, BLR might just come out and disembowel the opposition. Let's see...

Right then! All set for a glorious/disastrous (Choose one at your own risk) run-chase. Be back in about 10 minutes....

"We lost a wicket early on and needed to create a partnership. Glad that I got going along with Kane (Williamson). I was very keen to score and post a good total on the board. Half job done now and we should bowl well. I missed a few before (When asked if he missed out on a well-deserved ton) and today I hit one to the safest hands. I thought the par score is 170 but you gotta adapt well to the conditions. The ball is holding up a little bit. The plan is to bowl well and execute our plans. Virat and AB are in good form but we need to stick to our plans" exhorts Davey Warner who is gifted with the orange cap by the senior Huss.

Some entities change, like Kohli's toss luck; some entities perhaps never, like BLR's bowling endemic. Wickets did fall and they did fall in a heap, but it was only after a Warner blitzkrieg that lasted 50 balls - for 92 runs, 9 fours, 5 sixes and a bit of mayhem. Dhawan's form, an (in)famous sine curve to be fair, hit the trough tonight but the end of his 11-run knock allowed Williamson to play the maneuver, while Warner took on Harshal Patel and Co. Shamsi sent back Warner in the 16th over and Watson soon followed with Williamson's wicket to end a mega partnership. Henriques didn't disappoint with the late hitting, and thanks to his SOS hitting, the total looks imperious. But the chase is on. Any chase is on this T20 League. Any chase is on with de V(irat)illiers in the team. Do pop back for the chase!

19.5 - Watson to Ashish Reddy, 1 run, tries to discombobulate Watto by moving around the crease. Watson doesn't flinch, delivers a perfect yorker outside off and Reddy could only jam it towards point

19.3 - Watson to Ashish Reddy, 1 run, fuller outside off, Reddy clobbers it with some power down to long-off

19.2 - Watson to Ashish Reddy, no run, shortish outside off, a swing and a miss from Ashish Reddy

Ashish Reddy, right handed bat, comes to the crease

19.1 - Watson to Deepak Hooda, out Deepak Hooda Run Out!! 1 run completed. Full and wide, Hooda opens the bat face and squeezes it towards backward point. Sets off for a single and then decides to sprint for an ill-advised second. Richardson fumbles but manages to send in a decent throw. Rahul bends low and whips the bails...all this while Hooda was diving and doing his best to get back but that willow was IN THE AIR.... Deepak Hooda run out (Kane Richardson/Rahul) 2(2)

Watson to Deepak Hooda, THAT'S OUT!! Run Out!!

TV umpire called in for a run out check. Hooda is the man in question. Trouble, trouble, trouble... Looks like Hooda's bat is in the air and he might well have to trudge back to the dugout. TV umpire tells he is ready to make the decision and he pings the red-button which implies "OUT."

19.1 - Watson to Deepak Hooda, wide, Watson slips a slower full delivery well wide of the tramline, Hooda lets it pass

17.4 - Kane Richardson to Henriques, no run, slower short ball outside off, Henriques cuts and misses

17.3 - Kane Richardson to Henriques, SIX, Henriques isn't holding back. Sees the length (which is short) and dismisses it out of his sight - With a thunderous pull over mid-wicket

Deepak Hooda, right handed bat, comes to the crease

17.2 - Kane Richardson to N Ojha, out Caught by de Villiers!! Another one for Richardson and another dolly for AB. The off-cutter angling in on middle and leg, Ojha makes room and heaves... Kissed the toe-end and went straight down the throat of long-on. N Ojha c de Villiers b Kane Richardson 1(3)

16.5 - Watson to Williamson, out Caught by Rahul!! Watto gets his man! Hurls a short delivery outside off, Williamson backs away and rises on his tippy toes to flay that over the infield (obviously over the off-side). Couldn't quite get hold of that. Moises Henriques, right handed bat, comes to the crease

15.5 - Tabraiz Shamsi to Warner, out Caught by de Villiers!! End of a fantastic knock from the HYD skipper. He knew straightaway that he didn't hit that well. My colleague Pratyush blames me... chirps "You jinxed him." Did I? Back to cricket, it was fired full and followed Warner who was backing away. Wanted to loft but skewed it off the toe-end, straight to AB at long-off. Warner c de Villiers b Tabraiz Shamsi 92(50) [4s-9 6s-5]

15.3 - Tabraiz Shamsi to Warner, no run, the right-hander DW. Alters his stance and aims for a switch hit. The ball is quick and flat outside off, missed by a country mile

15.2 - Tabraiz Shamsi to Williamson, 1 run, slowish on leg-stump, nudged to long-on for an easy single

15.1 - Tabraiz Shamsi to Williamson, FOUR, and the carnage continues... Floated up around middle, Williamson knelt down and belted the sweep over mid-wicket

14.4 - Kane Richardson to Warner, SIX, Warner is in some mood today! Backs away and ramps this short delivery over short third man. Go fetch that!

14.3 - Kane Richardson to Warner, FOUR, short and wide of off, Warner hops and pulls with utter disdain, in the same region

14.2 - Kane Richardson to Warner, SIX, did KW and Warner swap their wrists in the interval? Full and outside off, fetched it from there and whipped with power and panache over mid-wicket. That made it more delightful to watch

13.5 - P Rasool to Williamson, 1 run, advances and strokes to long-on

13.2 - P Rasool to Williamson, 1 run, full toss on offer, Williamson crouches low and swipes it to deep square (on the bounce)

13.1 - P Rasool to Williamson, FOUR, that ball is begging to be hit. Short at 102ks, Williamson leans on his back foot and bludgeons the pull through mid-wicket

11.5 - Watson to Williamson, no run, good comeback from Watto, pitched it on a good length in the corridor of uncertainty, Williamson is in two minds. Makes a late decision to steer it down to third man but misses it by a comfortable margin

11.4 - Watson to Williamson, FOUR, awww! WOW! Just wow! Williamson has some rubber wrists. Pure class from the Kiwi. Shuffles slightly to this overpitched delivery and flicks, up and over mid-wicket, sped away!

11.3 - Watson to Warner, 1 run, back to pace. Full and outside off, Warner drills the drive through extra cover

11.2 - Watson to Warner, FOUR, that's a smash-me ball from Watto. Shortish on leg-stump at 118ks to Warner, seriously Watts? Warner clears his front leg and thrashes it through mid-wicket, beating a desperate dive from Kohli (who ran in from long-on)

11.1 - Watson to Williamson, 1 run, the slower bumper that nearly duped KW. Fetched the pull from outside off and got a thick top-edge, luckily it lands well in front of an onrushing fine leg

10.2 - Tabraiz Shamsi to Warner, 1 run, drifting down leg, Warner stoops on one knee and splices the slog-sweep behind square, on the bounce to the man at deep backward square

9.6 - P Rasool to Williamson, 1 run, little wide outside off, Williamson has time in his hand to cut it to sweeper cover. Has to be content with a single

9.5 - P Rasool to Warner, 1 run, Warner shapes in the crease and then pats this faster one to cover

9.4 - P Rasool to Williamson, 1 run, quicker through the air. Bowled at over 100ks at back of a length (yes, you read that right). Williamson punches to long-on

9.3 - P Rasool to Warner, 1 run, Rasool gets back to what he was doing initially. Keeps it flat on the stumps, Warner wrists it to long-on

9.2 - P Rasool to Warner, no run, cuts this flatter delivery towards backward point, cannot steal a single

9.1 - P Rasool to Warner, FOUR, we should not blame Rasool. First time he gave a bit of room to Warner, he flumped it through covers to bring up his fifty

8.6 - Aaron to Williamson, no run, bouncer and Williamson bends back to let it go to the keeper

8.5 - Aaron to Warner, 1 run, shortish ball on the stumps. Warner stays inside the crease and short-arm pulls it to mid-wicket, who swiftly moved to his left and kept it to one

8.5 - Aaron to Warner, wide, hurled down the leg-side, Warner has nothing to do with it, wided

8.4 - Aaron to Warner, no run, almost dropped that on the stumps. Another one that was pitched on three-quarter length, Warner hopped in the crease and the ball rolled away towards the keeper off the splice of his bat

8.3 - Aaron to Warner, FOUR, that is cute from the Aussie. Warner used the pace behind this back of a length delivery and then steered it into the third man fence

8.2 - Aaron to Williamson, 1 run, back of a length around the thighs of Williamson. He swivels across and tucks to square leg

8.1 - Aaron to Williamson, FOUR, this is a sonnet from Williamson. Stayed leg-side, in fact made a bit of room as well. Lofted this fullish delivery over the fielder at mid-off

7.5 - P Rasool to Williamson, no run, finally Rasool manages to get a dot ball by bowling it quick on the stumps. Williamson works it straight to the fielder at mid-wicket

7.3 - P Rasool to Williamson, 1 run, another darter on the legs of Williamson. Bowled at 99ks, Williamson works in front of square on the on-side

7.2 - P Rasool to Warner, 1 run, another quick delivery. Warner is happy to ease it to long-off

7.1 - P Rasool to Warner, 2 runs, nudges this quick delivery through mid-wicket. Took on the fielder there, Kohli was the man out there. He slipped a bit and that made the task easier for the duo to come back for the second run

6.4 - Tabraiz Shamsi to Warner, FOUR, not that short but enough width to effect the cut shot. Almost fetches it from the gloves of the keeper, beats short third man and the ball raced away

6.3 - Tabraiz Shamsi to Warner, 2 runs, how does he drive so well by staying leg-side of the delivery? Sends it to the left of the fielder at sweeper cover for a couple

6.2 - Tabraiz Shamsi to Warner, no run, some turn for Shamsi outside off. Warner wanted to cut it away, did not get any bat on it

5.5 - Harshal Patel to Warner, no run, slower ball, Warner clears his leg. But there is no pace to work, pushes it towards mid-off

5.5 - Harshal Patel to Warner, wide, in his bid to not give Warner any room, Patel has lost it. Hurls it down the leg-side, Warner does not get anything on the pull though, called a wide

0.2 - Kane Richardson to Warner, FOUR, that is a gift. Short and down the leg-side, Warner did not have to do much. Just helped it on its way and the fielder at fine leg had no chance to cut it off

0.1 - Kane Richardson to Warner, no run, wee bit of movement around off, Warner watches it close and defends it towards backward point

Warner and Dhawan are at the crease. Warner is on strike. Kane Richardson will open the attack

The mighty BLR batting line-up, sans Chris Gayle who was curiously benched, comes up short. And that's despite AB being dropped twice. Their ship is rocking at this stage as they find themselves jostling to find the right combination. There is still some time left to catch up but the Men in Red better do it soon. For HYD, it's a good way to bounce back from the disappointment against Pune. So, that's it from today's double-header. Hoping to have you onboard tomorrow too. This is Sagar Chawla saying goodbye on behalf of my co-commentators Raju Peethala, Abhishek Chaudhary, and scorer Siva. See you guys!

Warner: "I'm over the moon with that win. You never know what is a good total against these guys. But credit to the bowlers and we hung in. We set about trying to build a partnership and then going from there. Kane played the anchor role and took the pressure off me. And fantastic from Moises as well. Moises is coming handy for us with the bat and ball. And tonight was a terrific knock as well. Even though there were more BLR supporters than HYD, it was fantastic."

David Warner is Man of the Match..

Ladies and gents, just joining us? Missed BLR's run-chase? Well! Here are a few moments that had a greater bearing in determining the outcome of the game

>> Virat Kohli's rare failure (refer 5.2) and KL Rahul's untimely dismissal (9.6) after playing a gem of a knock

>> Watto's woeful running (11.2) and AB's "once in a blue moon" mistimed stroke (14.4)

>> Decent (if not bad) death bowling from HYD that shut doors for the Bangalore boys.

Um! To be honest, both teams were neck and neck until de Villiers's mishit landed in the lap of a tumbling Kane Williamson. KL Rahul provided BLR a rollicking start and AB failed to make HYD pay - Dropped twice on 3 and 17, by Nehra and Hooda respectively. With wickets crumbling at crucial junctures and run rate creeping up, the inexperienced middle order could only succeed in reducing the deficit - T20s demand better and smarter skills than that, ain't it?

"Just not good enough on the night I reckon. HYD played very well today, despite losing Dhawan early. Full credit to them. Davey (Warner) was magnificent and Kane gave him good support. We could have stopped them to 180 after David got out even though the wicket was nice. Me getting out early didn't help either. AB was going nicely in the middle, but we lost him at a crucial stage. So did Watto. I'm not worried about the batting, it's the bowling we need to work on. That's how the game goes. Even if you smoke the ball it goes straight to the fielder and sometimes - like the other night - when I got hit-wicket and the bails didn't fall. You need to understand the areas to work on and come out better players," says an introspective Virat Kohli.

17.4 - Nehra to K Jadhav, 1 run, gets hurried by a short ball which thuds the splice of the bat on the pull, and wanders away into the on-side

17.3 - Nehra to K Jadhav, no run, low full toss slinging away outside off, Jadhav puts his entire body in the slog but can only manage an inside edge which goes on the bounce to the keeper. A question is politely asked to which the umpire decides to consult his air-conditioned colleague. But there isn't any grey area with this one

17.2 - Nehra to K Jadhav, SIX, crucial blow! Keeps us interested and makes sure that the match is still breathing, albeit on a ventilator. Bends low to a full ball and flogs it over square leg. 16.5 - Mustafizur to Sachin Baby, 1 run, nails the yorker on the stumps, more like it, all Baby can do is squeeze it to long-on

16.4 - Mustafizur to Sachin Baby, FOUR, rare goof-up from Mustafizur. His attempted yorker has been terribly overdone and it's a waist high full toss outside off which is flayed over backward point. 2.5 - Nehra to Kohli, no run, moves to leg once more but is denied the room this time by a shrewd Nehra, is restricted to a tap to backward point

2.4 - Nehra to Kohli, FOUR, steps to leg while hurling down the track and clatters a length ball through the off-side. Take that! Virat and his cover-drives. I can watch him bat to a bowling machine

2.3 - Nehra to Rahul, 1 run, there's that late dab to third man. He looks like having a net out there

2.2 - Nehra to Kohli, 1 run, short ball which gains good bounce off the deck, climbs over Virat's shoulders but he carefully closes his wrists on the ball to pull it to fine leg

2.1 - Nehra to Kohli, no run, length ball outside off, defended towards point with a big stride across

Rahul 19(8) Kohli 3(4) Bhuvneshwar 1-0-12-0

1.6 - Bhuvneshwar to Rahul, FOUR, oh my! The message is loud and clear from Rahul. He's not here to make up the numbers. Only slightly short outside off, and Rahul laces a pristine square cut past backward point

1.5 - Bhuvneshwar to Kohli, 1 run, takes a cue from his younger partner and steers one down to third man

1.4 - Bhuvneshwar to Kohli, no run, tries to crack a cut to a ball which cramps him for room, chops it into the off-side

1.3 - Bhuvneshwar to Rahul, 1 run, he's played that 3 times already. Waiting on the back foot, for the ball to arrive, and then running it to third man

1.2 - Bhuvneshwar to Rahul, FOUR, creamed over the covers. That's one of the more picturesque strokes in our game. Fullish outside off, and Rahul paints a lofted drive over the infield

1.1 - Bhuvneshwar to Rahul, 2 runs, there's a deep square leg in place so I don't think Bhuvi has faltered in line. Maybe that's a ploy. Full on the pads, flicked through the square leg region and slightly wide of the man in the deep, who fumbles as well. Rahul races back for two

Bhuvneshwar Kumar, right-arm medium, comes into the attack

Over: 1 1 1 4 1 BLR 10/0
Rahul 8(4) Kohli 2(2) Nehra 1-0-10-0

0.6 - Nehra to Rahul, 1 run, vaults up from a short of length outside off, Rahul stands tall to get on top of it and dabs to third man

0.5 - Nehra to Kohli, 1 run, errs in direction and falls away down the leg-side. Kohli isn't content with the wide, he wants more. Tries to tuck it away but it holds up on him slightly and forces a leading edge. Rolls wide of cover

0.4 - Nehra to Rahul, 1 run, allows the back of a length delivery to angle across and dabs it late down to third man

0.3 - Nehra to Rahul, FOUR, that's a blatant half-volley and Rahul is having none of it. Floats it up there on off to find swing, and is punched back straight past mid-off - who strangely doesn't bother diving

0.2 - Nehra to Rahul, 2 runs, now slants this one outside off to Rahul who is prepared to wait on it, before gliding it wide of third man and jogging back for a couple

0.1 - Nehra to Kohli, 1 run, a hint of inswing for Nehra, just a little bit. Curls in towards off from a back of a length and Kohli tucks it wide of square leg to get off the mark

Kohli and Rahul are at the crease. Kohli is on strike. Nehra will open the attack
