Welcome back! What else have we got in store on a day maiden T20 League fifties and maiden T20 tons are being crunched? It's a lovely sight out there. Sunny, yes, but it's a packed house and a potential run chase is up our sleeves. As tasty as it gets. I spot Chahal opening the bowling... Interesting. Kohli is off the ground. AB will captain for now

"It's a good feeling but the game's not over, it's just half of it. Today was one of those days when I didn't expect myself to get a hundred. I just wanted to hit good areas but ended up getting a hundred. Against Delhi, I was 75 odd at the time-out when Dan (Vettori) came and told that I am 25 short. That (a T20 century) was the only thing left. Then I got run out on 99 once. I just focused on playing good cricket. I could hit the right balls into the gaps today and get to the landmark. I slipped going for the second run and sprained my ankle (talking about the seeming cramps) but that's where the fitness counts; other muscles took over. Got one on the foot when that Dhawal yorker hit me but all's fine. The wicket wasn't an easy one to bat on. The second innings will be much more difficult to bat. We are 15-20 runs above par but we can't take anything for granted, we will still look to defend 150-160," says a jubilant Kohli after receiving his Orange Cap

Dhawal Kulkarni was right on the money giving a fine exhibition of swing bowling in the first over and prised out Shane Watson, who was promoted to open the innings. Tambe and Jadeja were economical too. On this deck, Gujarat's batsmen have a task on their hands as it won't be easy to chase down the target. Join us in a while.

Virat Kohli assessed the pitch and conditions well to essay his first T20 League hundred, and propelled BLR to a competitive total. AB de Villiers threw caution to the winds early on but fizzled out for 20 - which is an abnormality. It was then the Virat and Rahul show. The pair batted sensibly and steadied the innings with a 121-run stand. Rahul started off slowly but went berserk in the slog overs and carted the bowling to all parts of the ground. He notched his maiden T20 League fifty.

Kohli 100(63) Rahul 51(35) Dwayne Bravo 4-0-43-0

19.6 - Dwayne Bravo to Kohli, FOUR, Kohli certainly writes his own scripts. Kohli crunches his first T20 League century off the final ball of the innings. He holds his arms aloft after removing his helmet and hugs KL Rahul. He deservedly gets the applause from his teammates. The smile on his face shows that he really enjoyed playing that knock. He is surely pumped up. Even though, he is playing for the opposition, the crowd too roars in delight. Very full and just outside off, Kohli backed away and sliced it over backward point for a boundary

19.5 - Dwayne Bravo to Kohli, FOUR, holy! Moly! Can Kohli crack a century? Here he waltzes down the track, and hammers this full toss straight down the ground for a boundary

19.5 - Dwayne Bravo to Kohli, wide, sliding down leg, Kohli lets it go by

17.3 - Dwayne Bravo to Kohli, 3 runs, Baz is a superman in the field! He dives to his right with hands first and then stops it from crossing the boundary rope. Just exemplary effort from the veteran. What should BLR do to resurrect this bowling line-up? Is there a magic spray? Can the Bangaloreans please look for it? Poor Virat Kohli. Gets a ton and ends up losing it, thanks to bowling plans hosed down the flush drains. The Viratians (as they like to call themselves) must be hurting. And hurting despite the team jersey they had on today. Raina continues to lead an impressive team that knows to recover from hurricane knocks, knows to be the perennial second-favorites but also knows to win handsomely. That's it. Hop tabs to catch the other game. Goodbye from Pratyush Sinha on behalf of Bharath Ramaraj and Sreenivas. Ta-ta!

Kohli: "Doesn't feel good now. Would have liked to cross the line. Didn't plan it, didn't feel at any stage that I would get to that hundred. The opportunity came at the end to strike a few. Gayle should be back for the next game, we have missed him but have done well with the bat. Bowling's execution isn't up to the mark. The wicket was slowish and we had to change the pace and keep the ball on the body. It has to be in a winning cause. These things (Orange Cap and the ton) don't matter. Not having that winning feeling about the team is never a good feeling."

Virat Kohli is the Man of the Match for his first-ever T20 ton

Raina: "It's a good win. I thought it will be an enough total for us when Virat got a ton but Smith started well and DK (Karthik) finished well. We bowled well in the first six overs but then Virat played well in the middle. Didn't lose focus, had partnerships and credit to our batting unit. Smith is batting well at the top, did so for CHN too. At the moment, we are not sure about Finch's fitness. We will see about him in Delhi."

Here's Danny Morrison with the presentations...Hold on for the quotes

Gujarat register a thrilling victory. They got off to a flying start, with both openers Dwayne Smith and McCullum plundering the bowlers to all parts of the ground. The pair sent shivers down the spine and the bowlers were hiding for cover. Smith threw his wicket to a loose shot. However, skipper Raina took centerstage. After McCullum's departure, he along with Dinesh Karthik kept the scorecard ticking and never allowed the run-rate to dip at any stage. With 21 needed to win from 2 overs, Karthik and Jadeja applied the finishing touches to help Gujarat romp home in the end.

19.3 - Watson to Dwayne Bravo, FOUR, game over. BLR lose this, despite winning the toss. Despite KL Rahul's maiden T20 League fifty. Despite Kohli's sparkling first ever T20 ton. How? Beyond me. Kohli reckoned this was 15-20 runs above par, and so did I, but this pitch is loyal to its (makeshift) masters. Never slowed up, allowing easy runs that were certainly helped by some dross bowling. Coming to the ball, it wasn't a bad one. Fullish but Bravo is Bravo. Gets under it and tonks it through long-on - places it straight enough to beat the effort in the deep. Poor Kohli, someone give him a hug. How symbolic is it to get a ton only to lose the match, on Sachin's birthday? Bad bowling line-ups follow Indian legends, no?

Dwayne Bravo, right handed bat, comes to the crease

19.2 - Watson to Jadeja, out Caught by Rahul!! Rahul hasn't given up. Takes a scorcher behind the stumps to send Jadeja back and then celebrates letting his flying hair-mane sail. Shortish off-cutter outside off, was an easy dab to third man. Jadeja instead plays it finer and Rahul dives full length sideways to grab it with one hand. A wicket too late? Jadeja c Rahul b Watson 12(10) [6s-1]

Watson to Jadeja, THAT'S OUT!! Caught!!

19.2 - Watson to Jadeja, wide, this is dross. Tries to bowl it wide but overbakes the plan. Jadeja crouches, reaches out but he doesn't have a golf club. Has a bat. Wided

19.1 - Watson to D Karthik, 1 run, a potential match-winning fity this. Gets a full toss as a gift, can't butcher it but puts enough in this loft to long-off to get a single

19.1 - Watson to Jadeja, no ball, 1 run, Watson has overstepped! There goes the match...and the fight. Off-breaks it outside off, Jadeja dabs it with a slice to third man and gets a single. And a free-hit

18.6 - I Abdulla to D Karthik, FOUR, a sandwich over. Two bad balls containing four run-saving darts. A full toss, can you believe it? Karthik thumps it over Abdulla's head with a shimmy and gets the all-important boundary. Brings the equation down to 7 runs off the last over

What's coming? Last ball of the over

18.5 - I Abdulla to D Karthik, 2 runs, length to be swept and Karthik does so, closes himself on the shot to place it finer of the deep backward square leg in place

18.4 - I Abdulla to D Karthik, 2 runs, good batting, bowling and fielding altogether. Running too. Flatter and wide of off, Karthik clubs it to long-on where ABD attacks the ball and fires a flat throw...not before the duo rob two runs

18.3 - I Abdulla to Jadeja, 1 run, tosses it up and dips it in front of Jadeja who can't get under it. Flicked to deep mid-wicket

18.2 - I Abdulla to D Karthik, 1 run, ticked off the pads to mid-wicket for a quick single

18.1 - I Abdulla to D Karthik, FOUR, was always the danger. Turning a touch outside off, Karthik shuffles across and kneels to pick it up with a sweep over short fine leg

17.5 - Kane Richardson to D Karthik, 2 runs, lovely from ABD. Full toss driven through extra cover, ABD runs in an arc, dives head-first and slides forward to push the ball in and prevent a boundary

17.4 - Kane Richardson to Jadeja, 1 run, squeezed out to Kohli at long-off and a flat throw from his (motored) arm doesn't allow a second

17.3 - Kane Richardson to D Karthik, 1 run, short and it's cut away to short third man for a single, Shamsi dives to his left and saves a few runs

17.2 - Kane Richardson to D Karthik, no run, dropped by Kane Richardson! Slower back-of-the-hand delivery, Karthik doesn't read and punches at it tamely. Carries all the way to Richardson who was in his followthrough but the ball hits the top of his palm and pops out

14.5 - Tabraiz Shamsi to D Karthik, 2 runs, ooh, leading edge and it falls to the left and in front of the bowler. Closed his bat face early and hence that. Gets a couple as the ball scoots to long-off
