Due to some technical problems, we are unable to cover live matches on our site and app. We are working on it and will be back soon. Please stay tuned for more.

Welcome back. South Africa will start with pace. Abbott with a slip in place

South Africa end on 148. I said that 140 was a good score on this earlier, I stick by that. Credit to du Plessis for sticking out there in the middle and playing percentage cricket after the early dismissals of AB and QDK. He played the ball on merit and quickly gauged that the wicket was on the slower side. Duminy and Rossouw made handy contributions to give their side a total to bowl at. The bowling was quite good with Mustafizur shining once more. Can Bangladesh chase this down? The crowd will be behind them. We will be back shortly for the run chase

Over: 20 1 2 1 1 0 0 RSA 148/4
Rossouw 31(21) du Plessis 79(61) Shakib 4-0-24-1

19.6 - Shakib to Rossouw, no run, and another dot! Nearly a wicket. Rossouw comes down the track and inside-edges the big hit. The ball hits Rahim's pads and misses the stumps, Rossouw was out of his crease but gets back as the ball rolls wide of the stumps

19.5 - Shakib to Rossouw, no run, a dot! Off the penultimate ball of the innings. Low full toss and driven straight to the fielder at cover, du Plessis is sent back and he manages to get back

19.4 - Shakib to du Plessis, 1 run, du Plessis comes down the track and digs out the very full ball to long-off

19.3 - Shakib to Rossouw, 1 run, again du Plessis loses his bat! This time due to Rossouw's flat hit which was directed at him, he manages to avoid the ball and get to the other end

19.2 - Shakib to Rossouw, 2 runs, Rossouw missed out, low full toss from round the wicket, swung to deep square leg, for a couple

19.1 - Shakib to du Plessis, 1 run, slower and on the stumps, du Plessis makes room and cracks it to extra cover, quick single taken, Mash fires and misses, would've been interesting with a direct hit

Rossouw 28(17) du Plessis 77(59) Mustafizur Rahman 4-0-30-0

18.6 - Mustafizur Rahman to Rossouw, SIX, Rossouw is landing some meaty blows. Charges Mustafizur Rahman and then deposits him over wide long-on, picked the length and clobbered it

18.5 - Mustafizur Rahman to du Plessis, 1 run, the bat has gone flying off du Plessis' hand. Sweaty gloves I assume. du Plessis swings hard and in the process loses his bat which lands somewhere in the region near short fine. The ball goes to square leg

18.4 - Mustafizur Rahman to du Plessis, 2 runs, lofted into no-man's land, the ball plugs in the outfield, two taken before the ball is fielded

18.3 - Mustafizur Rahman to du Plessis, 2 runs, Shakib hits direct from point but Rossouw has made it in with a dive. The third umpire wasn't even needed. The ball ricochets away, giving the batsmen another extra run

18.2 - Mustafizur Rahman to Rossouw, 1 run, Rossouw moved well outside off, even before Mustafizur Rahman delivered, eventually paddled from outside off to deep backward square leg

16.3 - Mustafizur Rahman to du Plessis, 2 runs, now Sabbir Rahman fumbles, low full toss on the stumps, du Plessis' bottom hand came off as he swung, the fielder charged in from deep mid-wicket and overran the ball, concedes an extra run

14.6 - Mustafizur Rahman to du Plessis, FOUR, du Plessis does well to get four. That one bounced on him but he controlled the steer and got it between short third and backward point. Well-executed

The rules have changed for the no-balls in ODIs and T20Is effective from today and it will be a free-hit now. What can Rossouw do with the first ever free-hit off a waist high no-ball

14.3 - Mustafizur Rahman to du Plessis, no ball, 1 run, no-ball for height. Over the waist and the full toss is hit to deep mid-wicket for a single

Must say I quite like the new South African jersey which they are sporting. Not too bright and the right shade of yellow. The fonts and the numbering on the back look classy. The green stripes on the front aren't too prominent and top marks for the work that has gone into making the jersey

14.1 - Mustafizur Rahman to du Plessis, no run, cutter pitches and then a puff of dust after the ball lands, du Plessis jerks it awkwardly back to the bowler. Has a smile after the bowler shied at the stumps

On that note we end proceedings of this first T20I. The second one is on the 7th. At the same venue. There is a gripping Test match going on between Sri Lanka and Pakistan. Switch tabs to follow that. Until next time it is goodbye from all of us here. Do remember to enjoy whatever is left of Sunday and also to sleep tight. Ciao folks!

Faf is the Man of the Match as well for his innings of 79. He collects a cheque, beaming as he poses for the photos

Faf: 'Wicket was a tough wicket, their spinners were bowling well and it was bouncing. Once we got through the initial period then we did well. While bowling we learnt our lessons from our batting. The old man (referring to JP Duminy) bowled really well today. It is good to have someone like JP who can chip in with the ball as well. Don't be fooled, when the sun is not shining it is still pretty humid. I lost two kgs today. It is nice to start the series on a winning note. It is a wicket where you had to graft hard and it is a knock that one would like to play. We have got so many match-winners, AB among them but on any day anyone can win it for us. The partnership (his with Rossouw) won it for us.'

Mashrafe: 'We could've restricted them to 130-135 which would've been good for the batters. The bowlers did well but we didn't get any partnerships while batting. I think Arafat and Nasir bowled well - all bowled well actually. Batters played too many shots but we can fix it - no worries. Hopefully in the next game we will rectify our mistakes.'

Wiese came back to dismiss Shakib and that extinguished any hopes of an improbable win. Eventually South Africa won by 52 runs which is a huge margin in T20Is. A professional and clinical performance from the Proteas who have shown no signs of any ring rust in their first game after the World Cup. Do stay tuned for the presentation ceremony

An easy win for South Africa. Bangladesh have been brought back to earth - at least momentarily. On a wicket that aided the spinners, South Africa batted sensibly and posted a total that gave their bowlers a total to bowl at. Once the Bangladeshi openers were dismissed the task became easy. Rahim holed out and then the spinners suddenly buzzed. Duminy and Phangiso made the ball talk. Shakib was fighting a lone battle but as the asking rate climbed he was left with a huge task.
