24.0 - Matt Henry to N Kulasekara, FOUR, Kulasekara backs away and Henry bowls another short delivery down the leg-side, Kulasekara looks to pull it fine, manages to get some bat on that and it races away to the fence in no time

23.4 - Matt Henry to N Kulasekara, FOUR, that's a good strike. Kulasekara backs away as Kulasekara slaps this short of length delivery straight back over mid-off, hit it well and it races away to the fence

23.1 - Matt Henry to N Kulasekara, FOUR, banged in short and at the batsman, Kulasekara pulls it through mid-wicket and it races away to the fence in no time

20.4 - McClenaghan to Dushmantha Chameera, FOUR, fuller in length and outside off, Chameera lofts it through the vacant mid-off region, no need to run for those as it hits the fence in no time

17.5 - Doug Bracewell to Kapugedera, FOUR, Kapugedera is timing the ball well. This time he leans forward and caresses the drive off this full delivery through the extra cover region, races away to the fence

17.0 - McClenaghan to Siriwardana, FOUR, Siriwardana makes full use of it as he gets a boundary off the free-hit. He backed away to this length delivery and lofted it over mid-off, didn't get hold of it but got just enough on it to reach the fence

16.0 - Doug Bracewell to Kapugedera, FOUR, that's a good shot to get off the mark. Full and on off, Kapugedera comes forward and drives it with a full face of the bat, both mid-on and mid-off give chase but only to come second

15.1 - Doug Bracewell to Siriwardana, FOUR, slightly short and outside off, Siriwardana pulls it over mid-on, didn't get it off the middle but it had enough on it to reach the fence

11.1 - Doug Bracewell to Mathews, FOUR, on a fuller length and on middle stump line, Mathews comes across and clips it wide of mid-on, who had no chance of stopping that, races away in a jiffy

10.3 - McClenaghan to Mathews, FOUR, just a gentle push and it races away to the fence. Nothing but a length delivery just outside off, Mathews gets on top of the bounce and bunts it to the right of mid-off, the fielder from mid-on gives chase, puts in the dive near the rope but the ball beats him to the fence. It was all about the timing on this shot

5.3 - Matt Henry to Gunathilaka, FOUR, half-volley and Gunathilaka latched onto it in a flash. He loft-drives it in the gap between extra cover and mid-off after coming forward, no need to run for those

4.5 - McClenaghan to Gunathilaka, FOUR, bit more width on offer and Gunathilaka comes across, swings across the line. He didn't get it off the meat of the blade but got enough on it to clear the man at mid-on, who gives chase and tries to haul it back in, but his body was in contact with the rope as he pulled the ball back, the umpire signals a boundary after consultation with the third umpire

3.1 - Matt Henry to Gunathilaka, FOUR, just lofted through the line. This was fuller in length on off, Gunathilaka lifts it back over the bowler's head, didn't get hold of it but it had enough on it to reach the fence

2.3 - Doug Bracewell to Dilshan, FOUR, first boundary off the blade! This was angled in on off and middle, Dilshan just whips it over mid-wicket and it crashes it into the fence in no time

2.0 - Matt Henry to Dilshan, leg byes, FOUR, drifts onto the pads this time around and pays the price, Dilshan fails to glance it but the ball rolls away fine off the thigh pad, races away to the fence

27.4 - Matt Henry to N Kulasekara, out Caught by Latham!! The final nail in the coffin for the visitors and it's another good catch from a fielder. This was a length delivery on the stumps, Kulasekara backs away and looks to go over cover, doesn't get the required elevation on the lofted drive, Latham at short cover jumps high and takes a good catch with both hands. The ball was travelling there but he managed to hold on. Henry once again has 4 wickets to his name. N Kulasekara c Latham b Matt Henry 19(24) [4s-3]

23.0 - Ish Sodhi to Dushmantha Chameera, out Caught by Ronchi!! Nine wickets down are the Sri Lankans now. Nothing but a flatter delivery that spins away outside off, Chameera was pushing at it away from his body, manages to get a very faint edge and Ronchi did extremely well to caught it. Frankly speaking, not a lot of people thought that was out but Ronchi was sure about it. Taylor reviewed and much to the delight of the Kiwi fans, the onfield decision was overturned for the second time in this over, this time in their favour. Dushmantha Chameera c Ronchi b Ish Sodhi 9(12) [4s-1]

19.4 - Matt Henry to Senanayake, out Bowled!! The Lankans are falling apart at the Hagley Oval. Nothing but a length delivery just outside off, Senanayake pushes at it without much feet movement, ends up dragging it onto the stumps off an inside edge. Senanayake b Matt Henry 0(4)

19.0 - McClenaghan to N Kulasekara, out Kapugedera Run Out!! What is happening out there? Poor cricket from the Sri Lankans. Both the batsmen were ball watching and that has brought another wicket for New Zealand. Kulasekara dabs this short of length delivery late behind square on the off-side, Guptill at backward point dives across to his left and makes a good stop. Kapugedera was running towards the non-striker's end without looking at his partner, Guptill flicks the ball towards the striker's end as Kulasekara had to quickly make his way back in. Even though he got in, Kapugedera was almost at the other end by then, the fielder at mid-wicket collects the ball and throws it towards the fielder at the non-striker's end, who disturbs the stumps to catch Kapugedera short. Kapugedera run out (Guptill/Nicholls/Worker) 12(10) [4s-2]

18.2 - McClenaghan to Siriwardana, out Caught by Henry Nicholls!! The sixth one goes down. Sri Lanka are in deep trouble now. This was a short of a length delivery well outside off, Siriwardana flashes hard and doesn't bother to keep it down, Nicholls at backward point dives forward and takes a good low catch. Siriwardana c Henry Nicholls b McClenaghan 12(14) [4s-2]

15.0 - McClenaghan to Mathews, out Caught by Ronchi!! The skipper is gone. McClenaghan gets his second wicket. A strangle down the leg-side, McClenaghan continued bowling short and on Mathews's body, his strategy has reaped rewards. Mathews was looking to glance it after shuffling slightly across, but the ball got big on him and it catches the glove, brushes the jersey on its way to the keeper. Half the side is back in the hut now. Mathews c Ronchi b McClenaghan 17(22) [4s-2]

13.4 - Doug Bracewell to Chandimal, out Lbw!! Another one bites the dust. Chandimal, the latest entrant in the casualty list. Bracewell was getting the ball to shape back in and that's been the undoing for Chandimal. He comes across to this length delivery shaping back in on middle stump and fails to work it away, wears it on the pad and the umpire's finger went up in a flash. That looked plumb to the naked eye. Chandimal discusses the option of a review with his skipper, but decides not to take it. Hawk-Eye shows that the ball would have crashed into middle and leg. Chandimal lbw b Doug Bracewell 9(24)

7.2 - Matt Henry to Gunathilaka, out Caught by Mitchell Santner!! What a catch! Gunathilaka can't believe his luck as he stands his ground in disbelief. Trudges away after a little while. This was pitched up and right in the slot just outside off, Gunathilaka goes hard on the drive and doesn't bother to keep it down, Santner at cover-point flies across to his left and plucks out a blinder with both hands. The ball was behind him when he took the catch. Brilliant from the all-rounder and Sri Lanka are once again in a spot of bother now. Gunathilaka c Mitchell Santner b Matt Henry 17(25) [4s-3]

6.3 - McClenaghan to Thirimanne, out Caught by Matt Henry!! Sri Lanka lose their second wicket. Thirimanne looks extremely disappointed as he makes his walk back. It was a short of length delivery that was bowled slightly wide outside off, Thirimanne slashes hard but the ball bounces extra, catches the top-edge and flies straight down the throat of third man. Thirimanne c Matt Henry b McClenaghan 1(5)

3.5 - Matt Henry to Dilshan, out Caught by Ross Taylor!! New Zealand draw first blood. Dilshan jumped out of the crease and Henry shortened his length seeing that, the batsman tried to leave it at the last moment but the ball bounced extra as it came back in towards Dilshan, caught the glove and looped away towards first slip, where Taylor held on to the simple chance. Dilshan was probably trying to be a little too aggressive and paid the price. Dilshan c Ross Taylor b Matt Henry 7(11) [4s-1]

21.5 - Matt Henry to N Kulasekara, 1 run, dropped! Taylor has put this down. On a good length and just outside off, Kulasekara pushes hard at it, the ball takes the outside edge and flies to the right of Taylor at first slip, who was a little slow to react, managed to get both hands to it but couldn't hold on, the batsmen take a single as the ball dribbles away to third man

22.4 - Ish Sodhi to N Kulasekara, no run, this one skids on around the off stump, Kulasekara was looking to defend but misses the ball, there was a loud appeal and the umpire gave it out immediately. The decision was reviewed and it was overturned after Hawk-Eye showed that the impact was outside off

6.4 - Senanayake to Guptill, FOUR, Guptill gets another boundary. A dot ball has become an anomaly now. Once again he slaps this flatter delivery in the gap between extra cover and mid-off, races away to the fence in a jiffy

6.3 - Senanayake to Guptill, FOUR, 100 of the partnership comes up in just the seventh over. Short and well outside off, Guptill stays back and cuts it past backward point for a boundary

5.4 - Jeffrey Vandersay to Guptill, FOUR, what is happening? Guptill is blazing away. He flat-bats this short delivery straight back over the bowler's head, bounces just inside the rope now. Otherwise it would have been another six

5.1 - Jeffrey Vandersay to Guptill, FOUR, starts off with a short delivery, Guptill rocks back and pulls it past backward square leg, it was in the air but out of the reach of the fielder there, runs away to the fence

4.2 - Senanayake to Latham, FOUR, drags this one short once again, Latham rocks back and pulls it to the deep backward square leg fence, no need to run for those

2.5 - Dushmantha Chameera to Guptill, FOUR, moves to 46 with this boundary. Brilliant bit of hitting from Guptill. He backs away as Chameera bangs it short on the stumps, he pulls it wide of a diving mid-on and it hits the fence in a jiffy

2.4 - Dushmantha Chameera to Guptill, FOUR, Guptill is definitely going for the fastest ODI fifty. Just short of a good length and around off, Guptill smashes it back past the bowler, mid-off had no chance as it rockets away to the fence

1.3 - N Kulasekara to Guptill, FOUR, Guptill is not going to hold back. Full delivery just outside off, Guptill swings hard, gets a thick outside edge that flies towards the vacant third man region and dribbles away to the fence

1.2 - N Kulasekara to Guptill, FOUR, slightly short and wide outside off, Guptill latches onto it in a flash. He cracks it hard to the right of point, where Dilshan was very late to get down, runs away past him and into the fence

0.3 - Dushmantha Chameera to Latham, FOUR, nicely done! Short delivery just outside off, Latham hops in the crease and cuts it very late, gets it fine and in the gap between the man at slip and short third man, off the mark with a boundary

0.1 - Dushmantha Chameera to Guptill, FOUR, dropped first ball! Banged in short and at the batsman, Guptill pulls it uppishly to the right of leg slip, where Siriwardana dives across and gets both hands to it, the ball though bursts through his hands and runs away to the fence. Chameera was celebrating before he realised that the catch has been put down, much to his disappointment

7.2 - Jeffrey Vandersay to Guptill, SIX, what a strike! It's a shame that Guptill won't get to his hundred. Floated up on the stumps, Guptill kneels down and hammers the slog sweep, sends it soaring over the deep square leg boundary

6.0 - Jeffrey Vandersay to Guptill, SIX, it's raining sixes at the Hagley Oval. Floated up outside off, Guptill lofts it through the line and it sails way over the long-off fence yet again. A good catch in the crowd as well

5.3 - Jeffrey Vandersay to Guptill, SIX, flighted delivery just outside off, Guptill clears his front leg and hammers it over mid-off, clears the fence as well, just about

5.2 - Jeffrey Vandersay to Guptill, SIX, take that! The debutant gets smashed second ball. Guptill kneels down and slog sweeps this tossed up delivery way over the long-on fence

2.3 - Dushmantha Chameera to Guptill, SIX, three sixes off three legitimate deliveries in this over. This was short on the stumps, Guptill makes room and slashes hard, sends it over backward point and it just about clears the fence as well. New Zealand are off to a flier, even that's an understatement

2.2 - Dushmantha Chameera to Guptill, SIX, Guptill is on fire. Chameera shortens his length as Guptill once again makes room for himself, he adjusts and cuts it very late, he got that right off the middle as it sails deep into the stands at the third man fence

2.1 - Dushmantha Chameera to Guptill, SIX, massive! Guptill once again backs away a long way and Chameera bowls it on a length and on the stumps, Guptill lofts it straight through the line, it came right off the meat as it sails way over the long-off fence

1.1 - N Kulasekara to Guptill, SIX, what a shot! Right off the screws! Fuller delivery just outside off, Guptill takes a step forward and swings it high over the long-on fence. That was hit with some power, like a golf swing

4.5 - Senanayake to Guptill, 1 run, Guptill gets to his fifty, the fastest ODI fifty by a New Zealand batsman, second fastest overall (equal with Sanath Jayasuriya and Kusal Perera). He turns this flatter delivery through mid-wicket to get to the other end

1.4 - N Kulasekara to Guptill, leg byes, 1 run, angling in on leg stump line, Guptill fails to whip it away and wears it on the pad, the Lankans went for the review after their appeal was turned down, but Hawk-Eye shows that the ball was missing leg
