Due to some technical problems, we are unable to cover live matches on our site and app. We are working on it and will be back soon. Please stay tuned for more.

72.0 - Stokes to Craig, FOUR, Stokes kicks the turf in disgust as he is angry. Short and wide outside off with the field in, Craig rocks back and cuts hard through cover, beating the diving fielder

70.5 - Broad to Boult, FOUR, he was caught at third man to end the last Test playing a similar shot but this time gets it finer and gets a one-bounce four, short on the stumps, Boult knew the line and length, ramped it fine and four more to the total

70.1 - Broad to Craig, FOUR, comical stuff from Adam Lyth. Cook isn't pleased at all. It was a slog to deep mid-wicket, Lyth can't pick it and he just watches the ball into the rope. Cook was seen shouting Lyth, Lyth but the Yorkie was beffudled and stood still as the ball went to his right

68.4 - Broad to Boult, FOUR, Boult has a smile on his face after flat-batting a forehand over mid-wicket, it was rising and Boult did well to control the shot, looked a bit awkward but beat the man in the deep. Even Broad has a wry smile on his face after Boult backed away and hit that

68.1 - Broad to Craig, FOUR, now a thick outside edge flies over the slip cordon, full and outside off, Craig was looking to go leg-side but the thick outside edge is found instead

68.0 - Stokes to Boult, FOUR, one ball is all it took for Boult to have a go at Stokes, full outside off, he clears his front leg and smears the cover drive in the gap on the off-side

65.4 - Stokes to Matt Henry, FOUR, slogged but well slogged. Matt Henry goes leg-side as the ball is angled in and gets four, there was a fielder at long leg but he beat the fielder easily

63.3 - Stokes to Matt Henry, FOUR, smashed! Looks like Matt Henry will have some fun. Clears his front leg and tonks the length ball over mid-wicket, one bounce over the ropes, that was a good old-fashioned thump from Matt Henry. Stokes just has a rueful look on his face and walks back to his mark

63.1 - Stokes to Matt Henry, FOUR, what was that, Mr Matt Henry? Only he knows. Pacy back of a length delivery outside off, Matt Henry swiped across the line and the thick outside edge flies over the slip cordon, Stokes isn't a happy man. Why would you play a shot like that so late in the day?

61.0 - Mark Wood to Matt Henry, FOUR, wide of the crease and full outside off, Matt Henry slashes it hard to sweeper cover, gave it everything and got a boundary

58.4 - Broad to Craig, FOUR, beautiful shot. Off-drive. From a left-hander is always graceful. Overpitched by Broad and Craig drove it past mid-off. Superbly played along the ground

57.5 - Moeen Ali to Craig, FOUR, too full and on the stumps, Craig gets forward and flicks easily to deep mid-wicket, needed to find the gap and did so with ease

53.5 - Moeen Ali to Ronchi, FOUR, now fraction short outside off, Ronchi is onto it in a flash, rocks back to cut to sweeper cover, beats the man running across from the deep, only one man in the deep and Ronchi moves to 85 with that boundary

52.5 - Broad to Latham, FOUR, that is intentionally played by Latham, short of length outside off, Latham rides the bounce, opens the face of the bat and guides it wide of gully, in the gap and it will be a boundary to the unguarded third man region

50.5 - Broad to Latham, FOUR, that should ease the nerves of Latham. Full outside off, Latham drives on the rise and hits the gap at cover. Sweet shot

49.0 - Broad to Ronchi, FOUR, Ronchi is playing some top shots. This is the best of the lot so far. On a length and outside off, Ronchi gets forward and lifts it over mid-off. Didn't try to hit it too hard just relied on getting it over the fielder. More of an ODI shot but that will do

48.3 - Broad to Ronchi, FOUR, gloved down leg and Buttler can't get there. Close call for Ronchi. On a back of a length down leg, Ronchi gloves the nudge, Buttler went leaping to his left to catch that but the ball was always winning the race, looks like the ploy is to get Ronchi out on the short ball. Let's see whether that works or not

46.4 - Broad to Ronchi, FOUR, Ronchi top-edges a pull and gets lucky. Pacy short delivery from Broad, Ronchi was late on the shot and the edge goes nearly all the way. Ronchi continuing to play his strokes

46.1 - Broad to Ronchi, FOUR, that is a fantastic cover drive. Helped by Broad's generosity. Half-volley outside off, Ronchi crashes the drive wide of mid-off. A loud clunk as ball met bat

43.2 - Moeen Ali to Ronchi, FOUR, a skimmer and Broad never gave the impression that he would catch that at mid-off. Bounces an inch in front of his hand and goes right through his fingers. Low flat lofted hit, Broad was unsure and in the end he allowed the ball to come to him, rather than diving forward. Very awkward effort

40.0 - Moeen Ali to Ronchi, FOUR, another poor delivery, well down leg, easy pickings for Ronchi who sweeps it to the fine leg fence. The fielder was very square at deep backward square and the ball beat him easily

39.4 - Moeen Ali to Latham, byes, FOUR, well down leg and that gave Buttler no chance, Latham swept and missed, Buttler got across but couldn't stop it properly. Four byes added to the total and first extras that Buttler has given away today

38.4 - J Anderson to Ronchi, FOUR, expertly played in the gap and that's edged right through where a third slip would've been. Anderson and Cook can't believe that they don't have another man in the cordon. Outswinger, Ronchi poked at it and the thick outside edge went in the gap

36.0 - Stokes to Ronchi, FOUR, third full delivery of the over and third boundary for Ronchi. Very wide half-volley, inviting Ronchi to drive and the Aussie - strike that off - turned Kiwi blasts a drive through the covers. All too easy

35.4 - Stokes to Ronchi, FOUR, very wide half-volley from Stokes and that's a gift for Ronchi. He gets forward and on a bent knee crashes it in the air and in the gap at cover. Stokes just holds his head back in frustration

35.1 - Stokes to Ronchi, FOUR, Stokes is on his backside. In attempting to take a return catch. Full and outside off, Ronchi drove it in the air and Stokes was going to his right to try and catch that, well wide of him and Ronchi will get a four. Stokes took a while to get up, but all is fine eventually

35.0 - J Anderson to Latham, FOUR, 'punchy player' says Nass on air about Latham and I agree. Lot of punch in his strokes. This is a front foot punch-drive as he came forward to meet the full ball, past the left-hand of Anderson who stretched out to stop and couldn't do so. Enough timing to get four

33.3 - Stokes to Latham, FOUR, low full toss outside off, easy for Latham who drives wide of mid-off, once it beat the fielder it was four

32.5 - Mark Wood to Ronchi, FOUR, short of length and sitting up nicely for the batsman to pull/heave/slog. However, Ronchi decides to flat-bat the pull straight down the ground, not a convincing shot, but gets the desired result

31.0 - Mark Wood to Ronchi, FOUR, short and on the stumps, almost squared the Test debutant, he hangs his bat awkwardly, gets a thick outside edge, the ball escapes over the slip cordon and races away to third man, lots of oohs and aahs from the Englishmen

29.0 - Mark Wood to Watling, FOUR, full and swaying into the pads, Watling clips it to fine leg fence, that's easy money for Watling

28.3 - Mark Wood to Watling, FOUR, full and swinging away outside off, Watling reads the swing and gets on top of the bounce, he goes for a back foot drive as the ball finds its way to the sweeper cover fence

28.1 - Mark Wood to Watling, FOUR, short and width on offer, Watling is too good a batsman to miss out on those, he reaches out and cuts it in front of square on the off-side

27.0 - Mark Wood to Latham, FOUR, full and straight, Latham drives it straight down the ground, superb timing and class on that

24.4 - Mark Wood to Brendon McCullum, FOUR, McCullum gets a glove on the pull, the ball just about evades Buttler's leaping dive to his left, short and on middle and leg, McCullum swivels across a tad and gloves the pull, the ball escapes the keeper in a hurry and races towards the fine leg fence

23.2 - Stokes to Brendon McCullum, FOUR, short and on the hips, McCullum swivels across and pulls, gets it off the meat of the bat, the ball crashes into the fine leg fence in a hurry

21.1 - Stokes to Brendon McCullum, FOUR, fuller delivery outside off, McCullum drives off the front foot and finds deep extra cover fence, easy pickings for McCullum

20.1 - Broad to Brendon McCullum, FOUR, full delivery just outside off, McCullum goes for the booming drive with laden feet, the ball catches the thick outside edge and races across to the third man fence after passing the vacant gully region

19.0 - Broad to Brendon McCullum, FOUR, full and wide of off, McCullum drives hard and middles it as the ball hares across to the deep extra cover fence

18.4 - Broad to Brendon McCullum, FOUR, full and into the pads, McCullum flicks it off his pads as he finds the deep mid-wicket fence, beats the fielder running around from deep square leg

15.5 - Mark Wood to Latham, FOUR, short and width on offer, Latham says thank you and cuts it on the back foot, the ball finds its way into the sweeper cover fence

14.1 - Broad to Ross Taylor, FOUR, poor first delivery from Broad, short and wide, Taylor was waiting for it, cuts it on the back foot, into the fence square of the wicket

12.4 - J Anderson to Ross Taylor, FOUR, edged and four again, on a good length and shaping away slightly, Taylor drives and gets an outside edge through the vacant gully region, ball races away to the third man fence

12.3 - J Anderson to Ross Taylor, FOUR, pitched up outside off, Taylor leans into the drive off the front foot, there's no stopping that, he got it off the middle of the bat, into the long-off fence

12.0 - Mark Wood to Latham, FOUR, that's a gift from the bowler, on the pads on a length, Latham handsomely clips it to the deep square leg fence, superb timing on that

11.2 - Mark Wood to Latham, FOUR, edged and four, this was on a length drawing Latham to drive, he gets a thick outside edge on the drive as the ball races away towards the square third man fence

11.1 - Mark Wood to Latham, FOUR, short and wide, punished, Latham cuts it in front of square on the off-side, Latham is looking in good touch here

10.1 - J Anderson to Ross Taylor, FOUR, fabulous from Ross Taylor, short and wide, Taylor stays on the back foot and cuts it to the deep backward point fence, the ball raced away in a hurry

9.1 - Mark Wood to Latham, leg byes, FOUR, down leg, Latham flicks and misses, the ball takes the thigh pad and races away to the fine leg fence, all it needed was a deflection which the ball got

7.1 - Mark Wood to Latham, FOUR, Mark Wood starts with a short and wide delivery outside off, gift for Latham who cuts in the gap at cover. He didn't move after hitting that

5.1 - Broad to Latham, FOUR, Latham has played another beautiful shot to get four. Full on the pads, easily flicked to the deep mid-wicket fence, third boundary for Latham and all of them have been good shots

4.2 - J Anderson to Latham, FOUR, consecutive boundaries for Latham. It was short of length on the hips, he tucks it with great timing and beats the man running across from long leg, two magnificent shots and those are richly deserved boundaries to Latham

4.1 - J Anderson to Latham, FOUR, that swung and Latham had to reach out to drive, but does so beautifully, leans forward and then towards the ball and hits it on the rise to sweeper cover, the timing on the ball ensures it raced away

3.3 - Broad to Latham, leg byes, FOUR, down leg and Latham gets a faint thigh pad, beats the diving Buttler, useful runs

69.1 - Stokes to Craig, SIX, smashed back over the umpire's head. Full and on the stumps from round the wicket, Craig cleared his front leg and whacked it high and dead straight. That was a fine shot to get six

66.5 - Broad to Matt Henry, SIX, smashed into the stands at deep mid-wicket. Similar short ball to the last one but Matt Henry saw it early and lined up the pull to send it way back into the crowd. Cook just follows the path of the ball

53.4 - Moeen Ali to Ronchi, SIX, Ronchi doesn't care a jot. If it is there, he will continue to play his shots. Tossed up on the stumps, Ronchi slog-sweeps way into the deep square leg stands. There are fielders for that shot but they were just spectators. A mighty fine strike as Ronchi wound up to give it an almighty thump

43.4 - Moeen Ali to Ronchi, SIX, fabulous shot to get to fifty on Test debut. Boult and Dimi clap from the New Zealand camp. It was flighted outside off, Ronchi slogged it with some panache over the deep mid-wicket fence. Aggressive blow and a fine way to get to the landmark. He raises the bat and takes in the applause

41.2 - Moeen Ali to Ronchi, SIX, that is a good shot. So easily done. Saw the flight on that and then went over mid-on. When it's in his area, he will go for it, they are checking whether it is four or six. Hits the ad-skirtings on the full, so six as S Ravi raises his arms to make the signal

16.1 - Broad to Brendon McCullum, SIX, that's McCullum for you, he doesn't care about the format, he doesn't need a second invitation either, full and wide from Broad, McCullum lofts it high and over into the deep point fence

72.1 - Broad to Boult, out Caught by Lyth!! Eventually England bowl New Zealand out. Boult was going for his shots, full and wide outside off, Boult skews the big hit straight up in the air after making room to go over cover, Lyth at point goes back and settles under the skier. Well taken and it's a five-for for Broad too. 13th time he has taken five or more in a Test innings. Boult c Lyth b Broad 15(11) [4s-3]

67.0 - Broad to Matt Henry, out Caught by Buttler!! Top edge and gone. The short ball ploy has worked, Matt Henry looks for an encore and edges it behind. Cross-batted swipe to a short ball, Buttler took it over his head and that will be four for Broad. Matt Henry c Buttler b Broad 27(21) [4s-4 6s-1]

60.2 - Mark Wood to Southee, out Caught by Lyth!! Southee was never going to hang around. He takes on the short ball which was near his stomach, didn't time it and Lyth at deep square leg moved back to take it over his head. Good catch and Mark Wood with a smile goes into an embrace with Anderson. Southee was looking for six with the pull but the timing wasn't totally right. Southee c Lyth b Mark Wood 1(5)

56.2 - Broad to Ronchi, out Caught by J Anderson!! How daft is that? Pretty daft I must say. There are three fielders for the pull/hook and the ploy is to bowl short. Ronchi could've bided his time and played the pull selectively but he holes out to fine leg. Just 12 short of a hundred on Test debut. Quite incredible really. Short and down leg, he pulls and picks out Anderson to perfection. Broad and England are delighted. Their tactic has worked. The two well-set batsman have been dismissed in the space of two overs. Ronchi walks off bat raised but that was a brainfade. Ronchi c J Anderson b Broad 88(70) [4s-13 6s-3]

55.0 - Broad to Latham, out Caught by J Root!! Latham's luck finally runs out. Cook has gone out of the first slip position, it is Root and he makes no mistake. Latham's concentration wasn't there at all in the last hour or so. He could've got out at least five times but England were generous, giving him chance after chance. This time Root gobbles it up. Full and wide outside off, Latham drove and edged it behind. Broad blows his cheeks in relief after taking that wicket. Latham played well but should've made England pay for all the lives that he got. Can England capitalise on this wicket? Latham c J Root b Broad 84(180) [4s-13]

30.5 - Mark Wood to Watling, out Bowled!! That's an absolute beauty from Mark Wood. He will cherish this moment for a long time. That's a pleasing sight for any fast bowler, He pitches on off-stump and beats the outside edge, Watling decided he will block it whatsoever, the ball held its line and kisses the top of off-stump on its way, Watling was hurried for pace on that occasion. Watling did everything right but the cherry was too good for him. Suddenly out of nowhere Mark Wood produces a ripper. Watling b Mark Wood 14(19) [4s-3]

25.1 - Stokes to Brendon McCullum, out Caught by Mark Wood!! Can you believe it? First ball of the last session and Baz throws it away, the Durham boys do the trick for England, full and just outside off, McCullum drives with laden feet, no timing on that whatsoever, picks out Mark Wood at mid-off, he grabs it at a comfortable height, McCullum is livid with himself, he didn't even look back after hitting it. Brendon McCullum c Mark Wood b Stokes 41(28) [4s-6 6s-1]

15.0 - Broad to Ross Taylor, out Lbw!! Taylor yet again exposes his poor footwork, pays the price for it, the inswinger from Broad and the English strategy to Taylor has worked, back of a length delivery shaping in sharply, Taylor wasn't expecting it to swing in as he wasn't offering a shot, he was caught on the crease and an easy decision for the umpire, Taylor walked straightaway and doesn't even consider reviewing it. Ross Taylor lbw b Broad 20(27) [4s-4]

2.4 - J Anderson to Williamson, out Caught by Buttler!! KW is out for a duck. What a big wicket that is. Fine bowling from Anderson, bringing about another dismissal. This was another outswinger, on a short of length though, Williamson uncharacteristically hung his bat out to dry and it took a thin edge to the keeper. Anderson has his 401st. New Zealand in early strife. Williamson c Buttler b J Anderson 0(2)

2.2 - J Anderson to Guptill, out Caught by Bell!! Anderson gets 400 in the rain. What a moment for the Burnley Lara. He is delighted and the rain is pelting down. The players are off as I type this. Even the weather gods wanted Anderson to get to the landmark soon. Similar dismissal to the 2nd innings at Lord's for Guptill. Outswinger, Guptill pushes hard at it and the thick outside edge flies to Bell at 2nd slip. Bell takes it above his head. Sharp grab and that's the landmark for Anderson who runs with his arms outstretched. Guptill c Bell b J Anderson 0(8)

51.0 - Broad to Latham, 1 run, can you believe it? You have to. For Cook has dropped it at first slip. Third life for Latham in 6 balls. Lovely delivery from Broad, angled in and drew the outside edge, went at a comfortable height to the left of Cook, he was expecting Bell to take it at second slip, he left it to Cook who was late to react and despite getting both hands, grassed it. Very sloppy from England

50.0 - Moeen Ali to Latham, no run, and would you believe it? Now dropped by Ballance at leg-slip. Flicked low to Ballance who can't get the fingers under the ball. Ballance was standing up and didn't go down quickly to catch that. That's two lives in two balls for Latham who lives a charmed life

49.5 - Moeen Ali to Latham, no run, dropped by Mark Wood at backward square leg. Latham went hard on the sweep, hits it in the air and at a comfortable height to Wood who despite getting both hands shells a straightforward chance. That should've been taken

21.4 - Stokes to Latham, 1 run, very tough chance put down by Root at gully, this was short and rose on Latham who was looking to defend, the ball takes the shoulder of the bat, goes uppishly and it stays in the air for a while, Root at gully leaps high, gets a fingertip on it but is not able to latch onto it, the ball rolls behind square on the off-side as the duo steal a single

51.5 - Moeen Ali to Latham, 2 runs, now Cook at mid-on fumbles after diving. More sloppiness from England. Dug out to the England skipper who should've stopped it. Gives away an extra run

47.1 - Moeen Ali to Latham, no run, very full and on the stumps, Latham bent down to slog sweep and missed, hit on the back leg. No inside edge onto the pads. But replays show that it was umpire's call which was not out. Sometimes this Hawk-Eye thing doesn't make any sense at all. That looked stone dead to me and to everyone. But that's how DRS works. One should take it with a pinch of salt and move on. England can't believe it. Now they have lost both their reviews

41.5 - Moeen Ali to Latham, no run, very full, almost yorker length on the stumps, Latham flicks and gets an inside edge onto the pads. England thought it struck Latham on the boot in front of the stumps but replays prove otherwise

19.3 - Stokes to Latham, 1 run, brilliant knock from Latham, gets to his fifty off a front foot drive towards cover, not much of a celebration as he reckons there is lot of work to be done

5.5 - Broad to Latham, no run, loud appeal for caught behind, England were convinced and it took a while for S Ravi to raise the finger. Latham was sure and reviewed succesfully. It nipped back in sharply and Latham was late on the defensive shot. The ball missed the bat and clipped the back leg. Technology worked well there, otherwise it was a bad decision

104.5 - Matt Henry to Broad, FOUR, wild slog and a thick outside edge goes over the slip cordon, sliced in the end but that is good enough to get a boundary as the third man area is vacant

103.5 - Craig to J Anderson, FOUR, that is more like a No. 11 stroke. On the stumps, he slog-sweeps through mid-wicket to pick up another boundary. The lead is being whittled down very quickly

103.4 - Craig to J Anderson, FOUR, Anderson beams like a Cheshire cat after threading a drive wide of mid-off, beats cover too, Baz gave chase but the timing on that was just too good. Exceptional stroke for a No. 11

101.0 - Boult to Broad, FOUR, thumped! Length outside off, Broad smeared that through point, gave it everything and timed it off the middle of the bat. The 50-run stand is up. Smiles from Broad and Mark Wood

100.4 - Boult to Broad, FOUR, rifled straight down the ground, Boult went for the yorker and missed it, the full ball is blasted past the stumps and the umpire by Broad

99.4 - Southee to Mark Wood, FOUR, Mark Wood gets a cracking boundary. Full outside off, Mark Wood drove it with an open face in the air but wide of the diving Watling at short cover. Raced away

98.4 - Boult to Broad, FOUR, Broad is looking to play shots and entertain the crowd, goes after a short ball and top-edges the pull, beats Watling at deep mid-wicket, one bounce over the ropes, these are useful runs

98.2 - Boult to Mark Wood, FOUR, nicely timed flick off the pads and it beats Watling's run and chase, on the middle and leg line, Mark Wood gets four after hitting the gap

96.5 - Boult to Broad, no ball byes, FOUR, "oooooohhhhhhhhhh"! goes Ian Smith on air. Where did that come from? Broad and Mark Wood have a big smile on their faces. Even Boult has a smile - when does he not have one? - slipped out horribly from Boult's hand. May have tried something different and bowled it miles down leg. Called no-ball and Boult immediately put his hand up to apologise

96.2 - Boult to Mark Wood, FOUR, Mark Wood can bat. He is a decent bat at county level. Full and outside off, Mark Wood gets forward and plays a nice square drive through the vacant point region. Nice boundary

95.1 - Southee to Broad, FOUR, too straight and Broad plays a fine shot, goes on the back foot and clips in the air through mid-wicket, Henry gives chase from mid-on but was always second best in the race

92.0 - Southee to Buttler, FOUR, in the air and just wide of KW at gully. Similar delivery to Bell and Buttler plays a similar shot but the edge is thicker and goes to the left of the diving KW. KW didn't even get a fingertip. Races away to the fence. Very streaky but Buttler gets four

90.4 - Boult to Buttler, byes, FOUR, ripper! No chance for Ronchi. Lifts from a back of a length and suddenly, Buttler fends at it and the ball zipped past the edge and went past the leaping Ronchi in a flash. Ronchi got a glove but tipped it over the bar

88.4 - Boult to Buttler, leg byes, FOUR, swing for Boult, but starts on middle and leg, takes the pad of Buttler and beats the diving Ronchi to his left. First runs of the day

79.4 - Craig to Bell, byes, FOUR, how did that miss the stumps? it was fuller and spun in sharply, Bell was lunging forward to drive, the ball misses everything and turns past the inside edge. Four extras added to the total as the keeper couldn't collect it either. It was not that far away from the off stump either

77.3 - Matt Henry to Bell, FOUR, short and wide, Bell punches it behind square on the off-side, backward point chases it but couldn't prevent it from reaching the fence

75.3 - Matt Henry to Ballance, FOUR, full and in the slot, Ballance leans forward and drives it in front of square on the off-side and gets a boundary

71.3 - Matt Henry to Lyth, FOUR, inside edge and four, short of a length and angling back into Lyth, he was early on the pull, gets a thick inside edge that flies over the stumps and into the fence

70.0 - Matt Henry to Ballance, FOUR, cracking shot, overpitched and well outside off, Ballance leans forward, presents the full face of the bat and caresses it past extra cover for a boundary

69.3 - Matt Henry to Ballance, FOUR, nicely played by Ballance, not such a bad delivery from Henry, maybe a hint of width, Ballance waits on it, plays from his crease and dabs it past Williamson at gully. He's off and running after a slow start

69.1 - Matt Henry to Ballance, FOUR, this is poor bowling from Henry, short and wide outside off, there's nobody at point, Ballance gets on top of the bounce and cracks it square on the off-side for a boundary

67.3 - Matt Henry to Ballance, FOUR, that adds salt to his wounds, width on offer from Henry, Ballance gets on top of the bounce and steers it square behind point, no one out there and the ball races away to the fence

66.3 - Craig to Lyth, FOUR, maiden Test ton for Lyth , he jumps in the air and celebrates, the dressing room is up as well, Lyth gets a big hug from his Yorkshire teammate, he's just the second opener from Yorkshire to score a Test hundred on this ground. A hundred in just his 3rd innings. This was tossed up and just outside off, Lyth gets down on his knees and slog sweeps it over mid-wicket, no one in the deep

66.1 - Craig to Lyth, FOUR, that should have been taken! The substitute fielder, Wagner, was wrong-footed completely, he didn't pick it up in the air, went to his left, by the time he got across to his right, the ball had gone past him. Lyth was looking to go back over the bowler's head, ends up dragging it towards mid-on. Craig has his hands on his head

65.2 - Matt Henry to Ballance, FOUR, that's a gift from the bowler, fuller and just outside off, Ballance middles the straight drive as the ball races away in a hurry

53.3 - Southee to Lyth, FOUR, fraction fuller and on the stumps, Lyth tickles it fine and no need to run for those, this is also the highest opening stand for England at Headingley

49.4 - Williamson to Lyth, FOUR, drags this one well short and wide outside off, Lyth had all the time in the world to rock back, reach out and he cracks it in front of square on the off-side. Guptill was trying to get to the ball as it was wide of him at cover, but slipped in the process. The ball escapes and crashes into the fence in no time

48.4 - Boult to Lyth, byes, FOUR, what happened there? This was a short delivery angling down leg, Lyth leaves it alone and looks like Ronchi didn't spot it either, he stood still as the ball went to his right and crashed into the fine leg fence for four byes

47.2 - Craig to Cook, FOUR, 150 of the partnership comes up with this boundary. Craig gave this one more air outside off, Cook leans forward and drives it past a diving short cover, the ball runs away to the fence in a jiffy

46.2 - Boult to Cook, FOUR, edged and four! This was bowled from wide of the crease by Boult, Cook opens the face of the bat and looks to dab it behind square on the on-side, he plays away from his body and gets an outside edge that runs away in the gap between the second slip and gully

44.2 - Boult to Lyth, FOUR, lovely shot! This was fuller and on the stumps, Lyth comes forward and punches it to the left of the bowler, who dives but fails to stop the ball. McCullum from mid-on gives chase but the ball beats him to the fence

43.0 - Boult to Lyth, FOUR, lovely transfer of the weight from Lyth. This was a back of a length delivery outside off, Lyth quickly goes on the back foot and punches it sweetly through the covers, the fidler from cover gives chase but he was never going to win the race

41.5 - Craig to Cook, FOUR, poor ball from Craig. It was short and wide, got the punishment it deserved. Cook rocks back and cuts it through the vacant backward point region, the fielder from cover-point gives chase but the ball beats him to the fence

41.0 - Matt Henry to Lyth, FOUR, that's sweetly timed! This was on a good length and outside off, Lyth puts his front foot forward and caresses it through the covers, the sweet timing takes it to the fence in no time at all

40.1 - Matt Henry to Cook, FOUR, edged and four! Cook gets to his 41st Test fifty with this boundary as well. It was a back of a length delivery angling away outside off, Cook looks to cut but it was too close to his body, he gets a thick outside edge that flies over the leaping second slip and crashes into the fence

38.3 - Matt Henry to Lyth, byes, FOUR, poor, poor ball from Henry. It goes way down the leg-side with the angle from round the wicket, Lyth leaves and Ronchi couldn't get there in time, the ball runs away for four byes

36.3 - Matt Henry to Lyth, FOUR, Lyth gets to his maiden Test fifty, brings up the 100-run partnership as well. This was banged in short and at the batsman, Lyth rocks back and pulls it to the deep backward square leg fence, the fielder at fine leg had no chance of stopping that

36.1 - Matt Henry to Cook, FOUR, poor ball from Henry, it was short, wide and was waiting to be hit. Cook stays back and cuts it to the right of the man at shortish point, the ball crashes into the fence in no time

32.1 - Matt Henry to Cook, FOUR, that's a gift for Cook - perhaps for getting past Gooch's record, waist high full toss, punched past mid-off for a boundary

29.2 - Southee to Cook, FOUR, short, wide and four, width on offer from Southee, Cook gets on top of the bounce and cracks it in front of square on the off-side for a boundary

27.3 - Southee to Cook, FOUR, Cook is the leading run-scorer for England in Tests now, he raises his bat towards the dressing room, the crowd at Headingley ring in the cheers as well. This is a moment to savour for Cook, gets past his mentor, Graham Gooch, whose record stood for 21 years, 9 months and 9 days. Coming to the ball, there was width on it from Southee, Cook leant into the drive and gets it square past point for a boundary

26.1 - Boult to Lyth, FOUR, poor ball from Boult, loses his line and drifts one onto Lyth's pads, all he needs to do is to get some bat, he does so and the ball races away to the fence in a hurry

20.2 - Boult to Lyth, FOUR, cracking shot, nice way to get going after lunch, width on offer from Boult, Lyth leans back and cracks it past point, no one moved as the ball raced away to the fence

18.5 - Southee to Lyth, FOUR, four Kiwis chased it but still the ball went away to the boundary. Opens the bat face and steers it wide of gully and the ball runs away to the third man fence

17.0 - Southee to Lyth, FOUR, Southee loses his patience and bowls it down leg, it is swinging as well, a faint leg glance and Lyth gets four

15.2 - Matt Henry to Cook, FOUR, it is short but not at great pace nor in an uncomfortable area, short outside off, Cook pulls powerfully from there and beats deep square to his left, that was an emphatic shot

11.1 - Matt Henry to Lyth, FOUR, fine back foot punch, short of length outside off, Lyth stands tall and punches wide of gully and it races away for four more

10.2 - Boult to Cook, FOUR, when it is angled in on middle and leg, Cook takes runs, gentle tickle and it is four to the fine leg fence

6.5 - Boult to Lyth, FOUR, that's just a push. Fab timing on that as Lyth got forward and played it on a bent knee. Four through cover, Lyth covered the line and then saw the outswinger early

5.5 - Southee to Cook, FOUR, look at Baz. He is hurtling after the ball and then thuds into the ad-boards after failing to pull it back. Let's hope he doesn't do himself serious damage. But he wouldn't care a jot if he got injured. He is that sort of a character. Pitched up outside off, lovely cover drive and the timing on that beats the speeding New Zealand captain, almost pulled it back but the ball won the race. Since he was running at such high tempo, the momentum took him into the boards

0.5 - Boult to Cook, FOUR, when they come at his pads, Cook puts them away, on middle and leg, Cook nudges it fine and beats fine leg with ease. Off the mark with four

104.1 - Matt Henry to Broad, SIX, clubbed over deep mid-wicket. Broad is playing the short ball well, takes it from outside off and hits it powerfully to clear the man at deep mid-wicket. The fielder watched it sail over his head

76.1 - Craig to Bell, SIX, tossed up outside off and inviting the batsman forward, Bell accepts the chance and comes down the track, he lifts it high and over long off, clears the boundary easily

108.2 - Matt Henry to Broad, out Bowled!! Finally New Zealand bowl England out. The players run off. Where was the yorker all this while? This is not quite an yorker, just a foot short of that length, on middle, Broad swings and misses after making room, the ball clatters into middle. Henry finishes off things. Broad b Matt Henry 46(39) [4s-5 6s-1]

102.0 - Craig to Mark Wood, out Caught by Ronchi!! Is there an edge? Yes there is one. Quicker delivery outside off, no room to cut but Mark Wood makes room and goes for the cut, gets a bottom edge and well held by Ronchi. The move to bring spin on has worked. Mark Wood knew he had edged it and didn't even review. Mark Wood c Ronchi b Craig 19(33) [4s-3]

94.0 - Southee to Moeen Ali, out Caught by Guptill!! Falling like nine pins now. Another edge and another catch in the slips. In the corridor of uncertainty, on a back of a length, Moeen Ali pokes at it and gets a thick edge, taken low to his right at third slip. Guptill won't miss those and this is turning out to be a great morning for New Zealand. Guptill bent down and made the catch look easy. Moeen Ali c Guptill b Southee 1(14)

93.3 - Southee to Buttler, out Caught by Ross Taylor!! This is superb bowling. Wide of the crease went Southee, angled in towards off stump, straightens from that line, made Buttler play at it, the outside edge is found and Ross Taylor takes a low catch at first slip. Southee gets his second of the day and England are quickly capitulating at Leeds. Buttler c Ross Taylor b Southee 10(26) [4s-1]

89.2 - Southee to Bell, out Caught by Craig!! Edged and gone. Good catch at second slip. The third slip came across and that must have distracted Craig but he hangs on without any trouble. Lovely outswinger, full and drew the outside edge as Bell went for the drive. Perfect start for Southee and New Zealand. Another failure for Bell in the series. Bell c Craig b Southee 12(35) [4s-1 6s-1]

86.2 - Boult to Stokes, out Caught by Craig!! Boult strikes again and England have lost half their side now. This was intelligently bowled by Boult, who went wide of the crease to deliver this ball. Stokes pushes hard at this back of a length delivery angling in, the ball shapes away ever so slightly and catches the outside edge. Craig at second slip takes a good catch and kisses the ball afterwards. The ball was travelling towards him and he snaffled it with ease. Stokes c Craig b Boult 6(17)

81.2 - Southee to J Root, out Caught by Ronchi!! The dangerous Root is gone! New Zealand are on a roll here and it's Southee with the breakthrough this time. Beautiful bit of swing bowling from the pacer. This was a good length ball that shapes away late from just outside off, Root was caught in the crease as he pushes at it, the ball takes the outside edge and flies to the right of the keeeper, who dives and hangs onto a good take. New Zealand players are pumped up and they have struck twice in two overs with the new ball now. J Root c Ronchi b Southee 1(5)

80.3 - Boult to Ballance, out Bowled!! Ballance exposes his poor footwork yet again, this was on a good length and swung away sharply, Ballance was late to bring his bat down as he was expecting the length to be short, the ball beats the outside edge and kisses the off-stump on its way, Ballance was hurried for pace as well. The ball kept a little low as well. Ballance b Boult 29(67) [4s-6]

74.5 - Craig to Ballance, out Lyth Run Out!! A well composed knock from Lyth comes to an end and he has only himself to blame. He walks off to a standing ovation from his home crowd. His team-mates too applaud the effort from the Yorkshireman. This was quicker and outside off, Ballance cuts it off the back foot and sets off for a quick single, Lyth responded but couldn't quite make the ground as Boult fires in a quick throw at the striker's end from backward point. Ronchi was quick to take the bails off and catches Lyth short of his crease. Lyth run out (Boult/Ronchi) 107(212) [4s-15]

59.0 - Craig to Cook, out Lbw!! The leading run scorer for England has to walk back to the pavilion. He might have wanted a century but couldn't quite get there, coming to the ball, it was full and on the stumps, Cook goes for the agricultural sweep and misses, it struck him plumb in front, S Ravi didn't think it was out, Baz reviewed it and thankfully NZ get their first breakthrough. Cook lbw b Craig 75(187) [4s-12]

107.4 - Craig to Broad, 1 run, the crowd cheer as the scores are level. Big slog sweep to deep mid-wicket and Broad gets a single

87.4 - J Anderson to Craig, FOUR, at this rate New Zealand can entertain hopes of declaring. Full and outside off, Craig gets forward and drives on the rise in the air but in the gap at cover, the field is in and it will take Craig to 45

87.1 - J Anderson to Craig, FOUR, slapped past Anderson. Short outside off, Craig forehands a pull to the right of Anderson, the bowler does well to get out of the way, actually the ball went through Anderson's legs, before he could react

86.5 - Broad to Southee, FOUR, that is the best shot of the over. Genuine cricketing stroke, back of a length outside off, width was there and Southee made room to cut that through cover. Again he shares a smile with Craig. I'm sure Broad and England aren't smiling at the moment

86.4 - Broad to Southee, FOUR, nothing is working for England. Slower leg-cutter tried, down leg and Southee helps it on its way to fine leg, no chance for long leg who is very square

86.2 - Broad to Southee, FOUR, when it is straight Southee puts bat to ball, this one comes off a thick inside edge as Southee swung hard, beats long leg to his left

85.3 - J Anderson to Southee, FOUR, clattered by Southee. Short outside off, Southee hangs back and pulls hard and into the deep mid-wicket fence, these runs are hurting England

84.5 - Mark Wood to Craig, FOUR, the runs keep flowing, angling in on the hips, Craig closes the face of the bat and tucks it to fine leg, beating the fielder who was very square

84.4 - Mark Wood to Craig, FOUR, well played by Craig, bouncing outside off, Craig hops and guides it past gully, Root gives chase and dives but can't pull it back. The lead moves to 386. Cook has a worried look on his face

84.1 - Mark Wood to Southee, FOUR, too full and on the stumps, Southee has it easy, stays back and lofts it over mid-on, boundary

83.5 - J Anderson to Craig, FOUR, what timing on that flick. Moeen Ali the fielder at deep backward square, he had just a few paces to move to his right and didn't get there despite a dive, Anderson bowled it on the pads and Craig put that away emphatically, in the end Moeen didn't even get a hand on it

83.0 - Mark Wood to Southee, FOUR, Southee gets bat and it is an edge. Bell at second slip doesn't go for the catch. It was going to his right and over his head, he didn't even attempt to go for it. Southee went after a wide outswinger and edged it, he has a smile with Craig after getting a lucky boundary. England's slip catching has been very poor in this match. Replays show that Bell and Root at third slip left it for each other, looking at the ball and assuming the other man would go for it

80.2 - Mark Wood to Watling, FOUR, connects with the square drive this time, pitched up outside off, swinging away, Watling gets forward and opens the face to place the ball to deep backward point, raced away

79.0 - Mark Wood to Craig, FOUR, this is a much better drive. Hit on the rise outside off as Mark Wood went full outside off, Craig leant on the stroke and punched it with a straight bat past mid-off, who had no chance

78.4 - Mark Wood to Craig, FOUR, full and very full outside off, Craig sits on the crease and drives through the line beating mid-off. Nice high elbow to boot when he played that

75.5 - J Anderson to Watling, FOUR, very full on middle and leg, Watling gets forward and flicks wide of mid-on, no swing or seam and that was easy for Watling as he gets the first runs of the day

74.2 - Moeen Ali to Craig, FOUR, full toss on the pads, flicked through mid-wicket, Cook was the fielder and that's a tired, resigned chase. The hours of fielding all day in the field showing in his chase, he just jogged after it hoping it will reach the fence and it did much to his relief

70.1 - Broad to Watling, FOUR, gentle half-volley from Broad to begin a new spell and he has been dispatched. Watling holds the pose after driving wide of the diving mid-off. Sweetly struck along the ground. Delightful stroke to move within a shot of a hundred

68.2 - J Root to Craig, FOUR, lovely shot! Too full outside off, Craig gets forward and drives between cover and mid-off, beats the man diving to his right, Craig can bat as seen in the first innings

67.2 - J Anderson to Watling, FOUR, no third man and four. On a good length outside off, Watling steers with an open face and gets it wide of gully. Moves into the nineties, Anderson is seen chuntering away, not a happy chappie

66.5 - J Root to Watling, FOUR, down leg, easy pickings, Watling sweeps and gets a four to fine leg. 13 away from a Test ton is Watling

65.5 - Stokes to Ronchi, FOUR, the lead is now 300. The target reaching unreachable levels already? Bouncing short of length delivery outside off, Ronchi hangs back and punches it uppishly through the vacant gully region, four more and Ronchi has raced to 26

64.2 - Mark Wood to Watling, FOUR, fabulous late cut, back of a length outside off, Watling plays it very late and to the right of Root at gully, well wide of the Yorkie and it raced away. More runs for Watling and more runs for New Zealand

62.4 - Mark Wood to Ronchi, FOUR, Mark Wood has his hands on his head. Full and outside off, Ronchi drives and the thick outside edge flies right where a third slip would've been. Runs away to the boundary. Defensive fields to a new batsman costing England

62.0 - Stokes to Ronchi, FOUR, sloppy and very lazy by Moeen Ali at point. Short and wide outside off, Ronchi cuts to Moeen's right, he goes down in instalments and doesn't save the shot, gives away four and Stokes goes - "nooooooo" in disappointment. Pressure being released far too easily on the new batsman Ronchi

61.3 - Stokes to Watling, FOUR, for the second time in the match Lyth hasn't picked up the ball at all on the boundary. This was short and outside off, pulled powerfully to his right at deep square leg and he stood still, the ball races away. Cook - I'm sure won't be happy with that effort from his fellow opener

59.5 - Moeen Ali to Watling, FOUR, umpire Tucker has a smile on his face after signalling four. That was a weird shot and even more weirdly it is Watling who has played that and not Brendon McCullum. Down leg, Watling completed the sweep and missed, as the bat came down, in the followthrough it took the back of the bat and went to the fine leg fence

54.3 - J Root to Brendon McCullum, FOUR, in the air and goes through Mark Wood at mid-off, just short and wide of the Durham lad, Brendon McCullum gave it everything on the lofted drive, did enough to beat the man who was diving to his left. That also will be 6000 Test runs for Brendon McCullum

51.2 - Moeen Ali to Brendon McCullum, FOUR, when it is in his area, Brendon McCullum will go for it, picks the offie and heaves it over mid-wicket, no-one in the deep and that will be a boundary

49.3 - Moeen Ali to Watling, FOUR, down leg and that's a poor delivery, swept away behind square, no-one there and it's fifty for Watling. He raises the bat and Ronchi, Ross Taylor applaud the effort. This fella is a gritty lad, won't give in easily at all

48.4 - Stokes to Watling, FOUR, too much width and punished. Short and wide outside off, Watling cuts deliberately in the air and over gully, this time no chance for Lyth from deep point. Stokes isn't happy

47.3 - Moeen Ali to Brendon McCullum, byes, FOUR, oh! Close! Brendon McCullum went for a big slog sweep to a flighted delivery outside off, spun back in and didn't miss off by much, kept low and beat Buttler, four more runs and useful runs these

35.2 - J Anderson to Watling, FOUR, length and on the stumps, Watling plays late and plays it fine, he runs it down towards third man, good timing involved on that occasion, Stokes, however, can't cut it off this time

34.5 - Mark Wood to Watling, FOUR, short and wide and is punished, Watling waits for the ball to arrive and cuts it square with sheer class and timing

34.4 - Mark Wood to Watling, FOUR, that's superbly played from Watling, full and outside off, Watling drives and drives it well, gets a four towards long-off

34.0 - J Anderson to Watling, FOUR, brilliant shot from Watling, short of length and slightly wide outside off, Watling jumps on the back foot and punches it square of the wicket, that's a delightful stroke and a pleasing sight

30.5 - Mark Wood to Watling, FOUR, fuller and just outside off, Watling drives off the front foot and gets a boundary, the ball raced past mid-off in a hurry

26.3 - Mark Wood to Guptill, FOUR, short and width on offer, Guptill stays on the back foot and cuts it in front of square on the off-side

26.1 - Mark Wood to Guptill, FOUR, full inswinger down the leg, Guptill flicks it past mid-wicket and gets a four, that's easy pickings for any classy batsman

26.0 - Stokes to Brendon McCullum, FOUR, full and outside off, McCullum leans forward and drives it to the sweeper cover fence, superb power and timing on that occasion

19.5 - Stokes to Ross Taylor, FOUR, and this time Taylor picks the gap, half-volley on the stumps, Taylor drives it straight down the ground and gets a boundary, superb class and timing on that occasion

13.4 - Broad to Ross Taylor, FOUR, back of a length delivery just outside off, Taylor opens the face of the bat and punches it towards square third man region, took one hand off the bat as he played that

13.1 - Broad to Guptill, FOUR, short and wide, Guptill jumps on the back foot and cuts it square of the wicket

11.5 - Broad to Ross Taylor, FOUR, full and just outside off, Taylor drives and drives it with sublime timing, the ball beats wide mid-off and races away

11.1 - Broad to Guptill, FOUR, fuller delivery outside off, Guptill goes for the square drive and picks a four, splendid timing on that occasion

11.0 - J Anderson to Ross Taylor, FOUR, edged and dropped, full outswinger from Anderson, Taylor drives off the front foot, he gets a thick outside edge and the ball bursts through Ballance's hands at third slip, it was travelling over the head of Ballance, lucky escape for Ross Taylor

10.2 - J Anderson to Guptill, leg byes, FOUR, full and swaying down leg, the ball brushes the pad and races away to the fine leg fence

10.1 - J Anderson to Guptill, FOUR, short and wide from Anderson, Guptill opens the face of the bat and plays it late as he guides this wide of gully

9.5 - Broad to Ross Taylor, FOUR, beautiful shot to get off the mark, a classical front foot drive, on a full length and outside off, Taylor leans into the drive as the ball finds its way to the sweeper cover fence

8.3 - J Anderson to Williamson, FOUR, full and in the slot, Williamson keeps his balance and drives it gently off the front foot, the ball beats mid-off and races away in a hurry

4.5 - J Anderson to Guptill, FOUR, short and slightly wide, Guptill hangs back and cuts it square of the wicket, good timing and power on that shot

4.2 - J Anderson to Guptill, FOUR, lucky runs for Guptill, this was on a length and swings away late, Guptill was pushing on the front foot, he gets a thick outside edge and the ball flies past the diving gully

91.0 - Broad to Matt Henry, SIX, another six and Broad is a tired man at the end of the over. Got height on this short ball but Matt Henry top-edged it and got enough bat to clear Moeen Ali at deep backward square, he was circling around it but it went over his head

90.4 - Broad to Matt Henry, SIX, connects brilliantly with the pull this time, easy height for Matt Henry to pull, around waist height and Matt Henry handsomely pulls over deep backward square leg, went a long way back

90.1 - Broad to Craig, SIX, superb hit! Full and outside off, Craig lofted through the line and went dead straight back over Broad's head. Clean hit and more misery for England

86.3 - Broad to Southee, SIX, tonked! Length on off, Southee swings through the line and connects well enough to get six over long-on. Broad follows the ball with a wry smile on his face. Southee is getting into the skin of the Englishmen

65.3 - Stokes to Ronchi, SIX, smashed by Ronchi. Clunk as the ball met bat. Short outside off, near chest height and Ronchi was on the back foot in a flash, nails a pull over mid-wicket, all the way, England need to be careful here against Ronchi who can tonk it everywhere

52.0 - Moeen Ali to Watling, SIX, now Watling gets six. Flighted outside off, Watling slog-sweeps way back into the stands at deep mid-wicket, connected beautifully and sent it miles, rare show of aggression from Watling

47.2 - Moeen Ali to Brendon McCullum, SIX, there is the first sign of aggression from Brendon McCullum in this session. Comes down the track and lofts the tossed up delivery over long-on. Connected well and went a long way into the crowd

20.1 - Moeen Ali to Guptill, SIX, that's fifty for Guptill and that must give him a huge relief, full and in the slot, Guptill lifts it high and over long-off, good way to reach his fifty

15.1 - Stokes to Ross Taylor, SIX, Stokes steams in and delivers it short and wide, Taylor moves slightly and pulls it with authority into the deep mid-wicket stands, that went a long way

90.0 - Moeen Ali to Southee, out Caught by J Anderson!! Southee won't get fifty. He went for the six taking on long-on but couldn't clear the fielder. Very full on the stumps, Southee's weight was back and he didn't get the elevation to clear the fielder. Southee c J Anderson b Moeen Ali 40(24) [4s-6 6s-1]

81.2 - J Anderson to Watling, out Caught by J Root!! Needed a special delivery to get Watling out and Anderson produces that. Bounced from a short of length, on off stump made Watling play, Watling tried to defend but the extra bounce took the splice and flew to the right of third slip where Root takes a diving catch. Root made that look easy. End of Watling's gritty innings and he gets a standing ovation from the Headingley crowd. Certainly deserved such an applause. Replays for that Watling dismissal show that it took the glove. Since it is the new ball it carried comfortably. Also Watling took the bottom hand off the bat as he played that to soften the impact but all to no avail. Watling c J Root b J Anderson 120(163) [4s-15 6s-1]

67.4 - J Anderson to Ronchi, out Caught by Buttler!! Ronchi is gone. The reaction of Anderson says it all. He is leaping in the air and does the double fist pump. He went wide of the crease and angled it in, the ball pitched outside off and held its line, Ronchi pushed out and the thin nick is easily held by Buttler. Ronchi c Buttler b J Anderson 31(23) [4s-3 6s-1]

60.4 - Mark Wood to Brendon McCullum, out Lbw!! Well-deserved wicket for Mark Wood. He had Brendon McCullum in trouble in this spell and gets his just reward. Sharp inducker, catches Brendon McCullum on the back foot, impact in-line, but just clipping, trimming the bails, since the on-field call was out, the original decision will stand. Brendon McCullum though can't believe it and shakes his head on the way back. He has a wry smile on his face too. England needed that and the inspiration has been provided by Mark Wood. Brendon McCullum lbw b Mark Wood 55(98) [4s-3 6s-1]

28.4 - Mark Wood to Guptill, out Caught by J Root!! And England finally get their man. Brilliant bowling from Mark Wood, full and shaping away a tad, Guptill drives uppishly and gets a thick outside edge, Root at third slip takes a well judged catch near his chest to his left, that went quickly to him too. Guptill c J Root b Mark Wood 70(72) [4s-7 6s-1]

24.1 - Mark Wood to Ross Taylor, out Caught by Stokes!! Half-volley and driven straight to short cover, brings joy in the English camp, Taylor was looking solid but pays the price for playing too many strokes, he drives this half-volley straight into the hands of Stokes at short cover. Ross Taylor c Stokes b Mark Wood 48(48) [4s-5 6s-1]

9.4 - Broad to Williamson, out Caught by Buttler!! Can you believe it? Williamson was playing with soft hands and I can't believe he's nicked one. This was on a good length and shaping away late, Williamson still goes for the poke wide of off, he gets a soft edge as Buttler takes an easy catch. New Zealand are in trouble now. Williamson c Buttler b Broad 6(20) [4s-1]

5.5 - Broad to Latham, out Caught by Buttler!! Here comes the first breakthrough. No heroics from Latham in this innings. Broad is delighted and so are the English players. Broad bowls a nice inswinger forcing Latham to attempt a shot, that was close to the off-stump too, Latham went for the late cut and gets a glove, Buttler dives to his right and accepts a comfortable catch. Latham c Buttler b Broad 3(17)

79.3 - J Anderson to Craig, 1 run, that is a tough chance and put down by Broad at mid-off. Will go down as dropped. Anderson came round the wicket and Craig drove it on the rise, was in the air and Broad went flying to his left to catch it with one hand. Could have done better with two. Broad saw that late and didn't react quickly enough

89.1 - Moeen Ali to Craig, 1 run, fifty for Craig. Tossed up outside off, Craig pushes to short cover, there is a slight fumble and that allows the single. Southee and Craig share a moment

73.1 - J Anderson to Watling, 1 run, 100 for Watling! The batsman. Fine knock. He pulls the short ball to fine leg and gets the single. No big celebrations. Just removes the helmet and raises the bat to acknowledge the applause. B Mac and Guptill have their Sky earpieces on and applaud. Watling deserves all the praise, he is a tough, nuggety cricketer. Fifth Test ton for Watling and the move to play him only as a batsman has worked. Could be a match-winning and series-levelling hundred

54.4 - J Root to Brendon McCullum, 1 run, one of the more sedate and uncharacteristic fifties you will see from Brendon McCullum. Again Ronchi and Ross Taylor clap. Nudged to deep backward square for a single. Brendon McCullum has really dug in, put his head down for the team's cause and played an innings which is totally out of tune with how he plays these days. Great show of character from the Bazinga!

53.4 - Moeen Ali to Watling, 1 run, 100-run stand comes up between the two after Watling flicks to deep mid-wicket

50.1 - J Root to Brendon McCullum, no run, to the naked eye it looked like Brendon McCullum got something on it. My guess was right. Root though was dead sure that he had Brendon McCullum right in front. Very full on the stumps from round the wicket, Brendon McCullum went for the reverse sweep and got a bit of glove. If not for the glove, Brendon McCullum was gone. Another excellent call from S Ravi who is fast enhancing his reputation as an umpire. Thank heavens for that, for India haven't produced an umpire of international class for ages

12.4 - Mark Wood to Guptill, no run, on a good length and shaping away late, that looked like a brilliant outswinger, Guptill was on the front foot looking to push it to the on-side, the ball escapes the outside edge and hits the back leg, England go up for caught behind and Ravi was unmoved. Cook goes for the review but in vain, top decision from the Umpire

89.2 - Craig to J Anderson, FOUR, England might be losing, but it has been a memorable game for Anderson. After getting to his 400th Test wicket, he now has passed 1000 Test runs. Tossed up outside off, Anderson reaches out and slices it through point, eludes the extra cover fielder to pick up four

88.3 - Matt Henry to Buttler, FOUR, the new cherry is travelling to the fence in a hurry. Full and too straight, Buttler leans forward and flicks it in the air, no one at mid-wicket to catch that, four more to Buttler

88.1 - Matt Henry to Buttler, FOUR, good length ball on off, Buttler was early into the drive, checks his shot and chips it over the bowler's head, Henry leapt up but it was too high for him

88.0 - Southee to J Anderson, FOUR, on a length close to off, Anderson presses forward, opens the bat face and guides it through the slip cordon, he gets off the mark with that boundary

86.4 - Boult to Buttler, FOUR, Buttler adding a few runs to his Test tally. Full and shaping into him, Buttler he presents a straight bat and drives it through the vacant mid-on region

86.1 - Boult to Buttler, FOUR, edged and four! Full and too far outside off, Buttler went chasing after that, the outside edge splits third slip and gully to perfection, that's four more to third man

81.4 - Southee to Buttler, FOUR, super shot! Overpitched outside off, Buttler gets a good stride forward and caresses the drive through cover, the timing was excellent as the ball sped away to the fence

81.2 - Southee to Buttler, FOUR, Buttler registers his fifty. It has been a fighting innings from the keeper. Drifting onto the pads, Buttler leans forward and glances it fine, no one in the deep to stop the ball

80.0 - Craig to Buttler, FOUR, that was a chance! Pushed through outside off, Buttler goes back and cuts, the thickish outside edge splits slip and gully to perfection. Guptill was anticipating the cut to go to the right of him and moved across, but it went to his left. If he stood his ground, he had a chance

76.4 - Boult to Buttler, FOUR, half volley and Buttler cashes in. It was outside off, Buttler comes well forward and creams the drive through covers, the timing takes it to the fence with ease

75.5 - Williamson to Mark Wood, FOUR, tossed up and well outside off, Wood gets a big stride forward and clubs it through the mid-off region for a boundary, the fielder was very square

73.2 - Williamson to Mark Wood, FOUR, that's a gift from Williamson, full toss first up, punched back past the bowler for a boundary

47.2 - Craig to Buttler, FOUR, good use of the feet, comes down the track, takes it on the full and whips it to the right of mid-wicket, the timing on that takes it to the fence

40.4 - Southee to Stokes, FOUR, smashed! Southee bowls another one short and well wide of off, Stokes jumps in the crease and slaps it through extra cover, the ball hurries across the turf and crashes into the fence in no time

9.3 - Matt Henry to Lyth, FOUR, good start from Lyth, it was in the air but Lyth found the gap to perfection, on a good length and well outside off, Lyth leant forward on the drive, didn't get hold of it, it was in the air for a long time, but well through the gap at cover

8.1 - Boult to Cook, FOUR, classy from Cook. Around waist height short ball and Cook lifts his front leg up in the air and swats it away to deep square leg, the ball raced away

3.1 - Southee to Lyth, FOUR, too full and outside off from Southee and Lyth plays a cover drive off the front foot, beating the diving Watling at point, raced away

1.1 - Southee to Lyth, FOUR, short and wide outside off, loosener from Southee, Lyth gets on top of the bounce and cuts in the air but in the vacant point region. First boundary for Lyth

74.4 - Craig to Buttler, SIX, lovely shot, Craig dropped one short and on the stumps, Buttler rocks back and pulls it high and over mid-wicket for a maximum

91.5 - Craig to Buttler, out Lbw!! New Zealand level the series. It was complete misjudgement from Buttler. The slider from Craig, Buttler comes half forward, doesn't offer a shot, is struck around off, the ball was hitting off and middle. He reviewed in vain. Buttler lbw b Craig 73(147) [4s-13 6s-1]

85.4 - Southee to Mark Wood, out Caught by Craig!! Finally, the stand has been broken. That was beautifully set-up by Southee. He bowled a few short deliveries before pitching this one up, Wood goes hard at that, the outside edge flies to second slip, Craig dives to his left and clings on. New Zealand now one wicket away from victory. Mark Wood c Craig b Southee 17(40) [4s-2]

73.1 - Williamson to Broad, out Bowled!! Williamson strikes gold once again! This was dropped short and just outside off, Broad made room for the cut, gets cramped for room, gets a thick inside edge and the ball clatters into the leg-stump. Can he get five? New Zealand are just two wickets away from squaring the series 1-1. Broad b Williamson 23(35) [4s-5]

62.2 - Matt Henry to Moeen Ali, out Bowled!! That's a poor leave from Moeen, a complete misjudgement and he has to walk back to the hut. This was pitched up and came back with the angle, Moeen didn't cover the off-stump as he shouldered arms, the ball goes on with the angle and hits the off-stump. Moeen hears the death rattle and walks back to the hut - completely disconsolate with himself. New Zealand have opened up the lower order of England now. Moeen Ali b Matt Henry 2(14)

57.3 - Williamson to Cook, out Lbw!! It is once more the golden arm of Williamson that has provided New Zealand the crucial breakthrough. First, he sent back Stokes and in his second spell he removes Cook. The slider that skids on, Cook plays for the turn, misses the forward defensive, is rapped on the pads. It looked out to the naked eye. Ravi raised his finger, but Cook reviewed and lost. Cook lbw b Williamson 56(171) [4s-4]

43.5 - Williamson to Stokes, out Caught by Ronchi!! The bowling change has worked and Williamson gets a breakthrough in his first over. This was dragged shorter and spins away slightly, Stokes went for the cut and the ball bounces extra, catches the outside edge and Ronchi snaffles it. Big wicket for New Zealand just at the stroke of lunch as Stokes was looking dangerous. Stokes c Ronchi b Williamson 29(51) [4s-5]

28.0 - Craig to J Root, out Caught by Latham!! Root looks stunned! That's an unbelievable catch from Latham at FSL. He got lucky, but that's a brilliant take. This was flatter and on Root's pads, he shuffled across on the flick, the ball went off the face of the bat and straight to Latham at FSL. He was ducking for cover, the ball hit him on his chest and he manages to hold onto it - on the second attempt. Root looks disconsolate as he walks back, Craig has struck twice in a single over. J Root c Latham b Craig 0(2)

27.4 - Craig to Bell, out Caught by Williamson!! Bell has fallen into the trap! This is unbelievable from the classy batsman. A leg-slip was brought in just before this ball and Bell has flicked one straight to him. This was slightly short and drifted into the batsman, Bell was looking to nudge it towards the on-side, he was perhaps undone by some extra bounce, turns it straight to Williamson at leg slip. It was a low chance and the fielder does well to bend down and grasp it. Bell looks gutted as he walks back, yet another failure for him. Bell c Williamson b Craig 1(10)

25.0 - Boult to Ballance, out Bowled!! Ballance has been cleaned up! This is sensational stuff from Boult, he set Ballance up superbly, followed a series of away swingers with a big inswinger. Ballance was caught in his crease as he looked to flick, the balance was shot, he ended up playing across the line, the ball clips the pads and rattles into the off-stump. Yet another failure for Ballance, New Zealand have their second wicket inside the first hour of play. Ballance b Boult 6(26) [4s-1]

17.0 - Boult to Lyth, out Caught by Ronchi!! Boult has got his man! This was a cracker of a delivery, Boult got his line right, the length was excellent as well, forced Lyth into prodding at that and gets the outside edge. Safely snaffled by the keeper. Early strike for New Zealand, Lyth walks away a disappointed man. Perhaps could have left it on length, but he was sucked forward into the defensive push. Lyth c Ronchi b Boult 24(41) [4s-4]

52.5 - Southee to Buttler, no run, slips this down leg, Buttler leans forward and fails to glance, the ball brushes the thigh pad on the way to Ronchi, who was not interested and so were the slip fielders. Southee looked convinced and hence Baz went for the review. Waste of a review from New Zealand

50.4 - Southee to Buttler, 1 run, fuller and close to off, Buttler presses it to cover and takes off, Baz charges to his left, picks up the ball in one hand and fires at the striker's end, it was touch-and-go for Cook. Replays suggest that he was just short of the crease
