Due to some technical problems, we are unable to cover live matches on our site and app. We are working on it and will be back soon. Please stay tuned for more.

Two slips in place.

All set for the chase. What will be the approach? Bang, bang or block, block? The sensible thing obviously would be to find a middle path and keep the strike rotating

18:47 Local Time, 14:47 GMT, 20:17 IST: I just have this funny feeling that we might not have seen the last of it. The wicket is very sluggish and Pakistan will have to bat well to overhaul what looks a modest total. The new ball should be the best time to bat on. And that's where England got it wrong. Three wickets to the pace bowlers when the ball isn't misbehaving much at all. What were they doing? Anyway, Morgan got together with a very busy Taylor to build. They were involved in an excellent partnership showing no evidence of any discomfort. Very impressive stuff from both of them who were magnificent in their own right flowing to their respective half-centuries. But once Pakistan broke through the duo, England never really recovered. Lost the last 7 wickets for a meagre 69 runs. These uncanny low totals. Have a tendency to clutter the chasing team's approach. Let's see how it goes. Back in around 30 minutes..

49.4 - Riaz to Topley, out Woakes Run Out!! That's the end of that. England finish with 216. Woakes actually played a handy knock to get them here. Tries to sneak in a bye after Topley missed, had to get on strike to be fair on him, just inches short of the crease after Sarfraz effects a direct-hit with an underarm effort. Woakes run out (Sarfraz Ahmed) 33(49) [4s-1]

Riaz to Topley, THAT'S OUT!! Run Out!!

49.3 - Riaz to Woakes, 1 run, low full toss smashed to deep cover. Now Topley, looks a proper no. 11

49.2 - Riaz to Woakes, 2 runs, another full toss, much higher this time, carved over backward point, sweeper cover runs across to prevent the boundary

49.1 - Riaz to Woakes, no run, slings in a low full toss outside off from round the wicket, Woakes stresses every sinew of his body in a windy woosh through off, in vain, misses

Over: 49 1 2 W 0 0 0 ENG 213/9
Topley 0(3) Woakes 30(46) Irfan 10-2-35-3

48.6 - Irfan to Topley, no run, poor Topley looking completely out of place. The pace, the angle, the play and miss

48.5 - Irfan to Topley, no run, rolls his fingers across, the slower off-cutter pitching on a length on leg and turning appreciably, completely opens Topley up in his defence and beats the outside edge

48.4 - Irfan to Topley, no run, some french-cricket from Topley, stays rooted and blocks a length ball

Reece Topley, right handed bat, comes to the crease

48.3 - Irfan to Willey, out Bowled!! Bingo! Actually was the most hittable ball of the over. Length and right in the slot to be whacked, Willey has an almighty heave at it, doesn't bounce as much as he thought, whizzes beneath the inside edge to clatter off-stump. Willey b Irfan 13(24)

Irfan to Willey, THAT'S OUT!! Bowled!!

48.2 - Irfan to Willey, 2 runs, another low full toss, hard to get under these, Willey drives hard through the cover region wide of the man in the deep, sprints back for two

48.1 - Irfan to Woakes, 1 run, low full toss pushed across just outside off, Woakes square-drives it straight to point who can't stop cleanly allowing a run

Mohammad Irfan [9.0-2-32-2] is back into the attack

Over: 48 0 0 0 2 0 1 ENG 210/8
Woakes 29(45) Willey 11(22) Riaz 9-1-26-0

47.6 - Riaz to Woakes, 1 run, almost similar to the previous ball, this time makes a better connection and through the cover region

47.5 - Riaz to Woakes, no run, off-cutter on a short of length, Woakes has a wild swish at it after moving leg-side, chops it off the inside half towards cover

47.4 - Riaz to Woakes, 2 runs, just too good. Yorker length once more, Woakes jams the drive in front of long-on and pushes hard, makes it back for the second

47.3 - Riaz to Woakes, no run, the full bunger outside off, any bat on it and would have flew away, nothing on it

47.2 - Riaz to Woakes, no run, good aggressive fast bowling. Yorker followed by a swift bouncer, Woakes was backing away, attempts a rushed pull but cannot connect

47.1 - Riaz to Woakes, no run, another lovely yorker from Riaz, Woakes digs it out off the bottom of the bat, then bounces on the pitch before settling in Sarfraz's gloves

We have gone upstairs for a caught-behind appeal. Basically to check whether it's a bump ball or not. Oh yes, sure is! NOT OUT

Over: 47 1 0 1 0 0 0 ENG 207/8
Willey 11(22) Woakes 26(39) Anwar Ali 6-0-32-2

46.6 - Anwar Ali to Willey, no run, no pace whatsoever, the batsmen are struggling to get the bowling away. On a good length just outside off, Willey aims inside out with an expansive drive but ends up dragging it back towards the bowler off a thick inside edge

46.5 - Anwar Ali to Willey, no run, length ball slanted across, cracked straight to short cover

46.4 - Anwar Ali to Willey, no run, Willey loads up for a good 'ol mow across the line to a good length delivery, it just doesn't get up from the pitch, scoots under the inside edge on the bounce to the keeper

46.3 - Anwar Ali to Woakes, 1 run, slower bouncer which rises above Woakes' head, he has to reach out to connect with the pull and keeps it along the ground with a roll of the wrists on impact

46.2 - Anwar Ali to Woakes, no run, on a length around middle and off, Woakes turns it to mid-wicket

46.1 - Anwar Ali to Willey, 1 run, angled into the pads, Willey nurdles it round the corner to get to the other end

Anwar Ali [5.0-0-30-2] is back into the attack

Over: 46 1 2 0 1 1 2 ENG 205/8
Woakes 25(37) Willey 10(18) Riaz 8-1-23-0

45.6 - Riaz to Woakes, 2 runs, swivels across and helps the pull wide of fine leg

45.5 - Riaz to Willey, 1 run, brilliant bowling at the death. Oopsy, has Riaz done something to his ankle! Looks in some discomfort. Yorker dug out on the crease, the batsmen set off, so does Riaz and aims a kick onto the stumps, all he does is roll his ankle over the ball. Won't make a good footballer. He lays on the ground for some time prompting Waqar to point at his watch. Get on with it

45.4 - Riaz to Woakes, 1 run, Woakes had given up and would have been on his bike with a direct hit! Pushed to cover and sets off, the fielder collects and shies at the non-striker's end but can't hit bull's eye

45.3 - Riaz to Woakes, no run, so slow this surface is. Banged in halfway, Woakes is surprised by the tennis ball bounce as it gets too big on him. The lack of pace allows him to thrust his head out of the way in time

45.2 - Riaz to Woakes, 2 runs, the backward point fielder rushes in looking to prevent the single, ends up missing the ball altogether leaking an extra run. Sloppy. Woakes had dropped it with soft hands and the batsmen pushed hard inducing the misfield

Switches to round the wicket for the right hander..

45.1 - Riaz to Willey, 1 run, back of a length in the corridor, opens the face to steer it in front of backward point

Wahab Riaz [7.0-1-16-0] is back into the attack

Over: 45 1 2 0 2 1 1 ENG 198/8
Willey 8(16) Woakes 20(33) Irfan 9-2-32-2

44.6 - Irfan to Willey, 1 run, bang on target with the yorker. Willey squeezes it on the popping crease and sets off. Gets a quick response as well

44.5 - Irfan to Woakes, 1 run, slightly short, chopped to the man at sweeper cover

44.4 - Irfan to Woakes, 2 runs, driven straight back down the pitch, no way Irfan is bending his 7 foot frame, uses his feet to stop but all he does is kick it away wide of mid-on who was left wrong-footed originally moving in the opposite direction

44.3 - Irfan to Woakes, no run, that angle is proving a menace in these final overs. Woakes feels he has it covered on the drive but no. Beats him

44.2 - Irfan to Woakes, 2 runs, full and angling away, Woakes drives away from the body with no feet and slices it off a thick edge. Third man has a lot of work to do and the batsmen are back for the second

44.1 - Irfan to Willey, 1 run, oooh, Willey was winding up for a booming drive. Fairly full delivery just outside off, he goes with hard hands but only manages a thick inside edge behind square

Over: 44 1 0 1 0 1 0 ENG 191/8
Woakes 15(29) Willey 6(14) Yasir Shah 10-0-38-1

43.6 - Yasir Shah to Woakes, no run, the slowness of the surface is forcing Yasir to bowl quicker. Defended back to him

43.5 - Yasir Shah to Willey, 1 run, the googly on leg, was darted in, Willey gently flicks through mid-wicket

43.4 - Yasir Shah to Willey, no run, drifting with the arm across off, beats the outside edge of Willey who was playing for some turn

43.3 - Yasir Shah to Woakes, 1 run, slightly short outside off, the lack of pace in the pitch makes it easy for Woakes to rock back and cut through the covers

43.2 - Yasir Shah to Woakes, no run, quicker through the air, drifts in on middle pitching on a length and straightens a touch, Woakes plays back to it and carefully watches it on the bat

Younis is sent back on the boundary and that brings the crowd to life

43.1 - Yasir Shah to Willey, 1 run, flat and quick on the stumps, Willey is way deep in the crease and tucks it down to long-on

Yasir Shah [9.0-0-35-1] is back into the attack

Over: 43 1 0 Wd 0 1 1 1 ENG 188/8
Willey 4(11) Woakes 14(26) Irfan 8-2-25-2

42.6 - Irfan to Willey, 1 run, quick and full on middle and leg, Willey looks to flick, gets it a lot squarer than intended due to a thick inside edge

42.5 - Irfan to Woakes, 1 run, back of a length delivery slanted in the outside off channel, Woakes hangs back and taps it on its head at the last minute down towards third man

42.4 - Irfan to Willey, 1 run, short of length delivery on the body, this length is holding up on the pitch, Willey is early into the pull and gets it off a thick bottom edge down to fine leg

42.3 - Irfan to Willey, no run, too quick for Willey. The ball strikes flush on the pads before his bat came across for the flick. Was comfortably snaking down leg as a result of which there was no appeal

42.3 - Irfan to Willey, wide, right in the blockhole but alas, well down leg. Willey misses with his glance

42.2 - Irfan to Willey, no run, the slower off-cutter nipping back in on off, a shaken Willey defends it back to the bowler

42.1 - Irfan to Woakes, 1 run, pitched up at a gentle pace, Woakes leans into the drive down to long-off

Over: 42 0 0 1 1 0 0 ENG 183/8
Willey 2(7) Woakes 12(24) Riaz 7-1-16-0

41.6 - Riaz to Willey, no run, oh no! Willey is hit near the stomach and he's feeling the pain. I think it hit the ribcage as well. He's down on the ground and quickly calls for the physio. A few Pakistani fielders check Willey's health as the physio tends to him. Short delivery on the stumps, Willey goes for the pull, but the ball doesn't bounce as much as Willey anticipated and it hit him hard

41.5 - Riaz to Willey, no run, fullish and on the stumps, Willey drives it back to the bowler

41.4 - Riaz to Woakes, 1 run, slower delivery on the leg stump, Woakes goes early into the flick, ends up toe-ending it onto the boot and it rolls to backward square leg

41.3 - Riaz to Willey, 1 run, excellent inswinging yorker, Willey digs it out, Riaz for some reason appeal for LBW, the ball never hit the pad. Willey just managed to bring his bat down in time to prevent damage, as the ball rolled towards the keeper, Woakes steals a run

41.2 - Riaz to Willey, no run, low full toss outside off stump, Willey digs it out to cover

41.1 - Riaz to Willey, no run, full and outside off stump, ignored

40.4 - Irfan to Willey, no run, short of length and outside off stump, Willey defends off the back foot

David Willey, left handed bat, comes to the crease

40.3 - Irfan to Adil Rashid, out Caught by (sub)Z Gohar!! That's a soft dismissal. Irfan bowls a fullish slower ball, Rashid mistimes the loft, the ball goes straight to the man at mid-on. Second wicket for Irfan. Adil Rashid c (sub)Z Gohar b Irfan 7(13)

4.3 - Irfan to James Taylor, no run, slightly behind a length around off, Taylor hops and blocks

3.5 - Anwar Ali to Eoin Morgan, FOUR, gets this one away! Similar line, similar length, Morgan wasn't going to miss out on this occasion. Crunches it in front of square and whistles away

3.4 - Anwar Ali to Eoin Morgan, no run, back of a length and wide of off, the width was there but maybe the lack of bounce messes up the timing of Morgan's cut. Chops it straight to backward point

3.3 - Anwar Ali to Eoin Morgan, no run, pushed across Morgan on a length, the English skipper wants a moment of calmness now. Enough of the craziness. Shoulders arms

3.2 - Anwar Ali to James Taylor, 1 run, angling into the pads on a length, Taylor is away with a neat flick down to fine leg

James Taylor, right handed bat, comes to the crease

3.1 - Anwar Ali to Hales, out Caught by Younis Khan!! My oh my! What on this good Earth is going on. It's pace doing all the damage. Back of a length delivery around the fifth stump line, did nothing off the deck, nothing that I could spot anyway. Hales rocks back and aims a firm punch through the covers, just played down the wrong line as simple as that. Gets a thick edge which dips to the left of Younis. The oldie has still got it, moves smartly, fumbles the first time but hangs on for dear life as it didn't pop up too far. Then a boyish smile after being mobbed by his mates. 2.6 - Irfan to Eoin Morgan, FOUR, lobs up and just over the keeper. This is a very nervy start. Short of length on the body, Morgan was expecting this, but is through the pull too early. Catches him on the fore-arm and spoons over the leaping keeper. Umpire didn't spot it and gave runs

2.5 - Irfan to Eoin Morgan, no run, Morgan is sitting back here. Fairly full, Morgan hangs back and offers a straight bat. Any movement and he was in trouble

2.4 - Irfan to Hales, 3 runs, on a length on the pads, Hales picks it off through mid-wicket. Didn't have a lot of power behind it and the ball is chased down

2.3 - Irfan to Hales, no run, straightish on this occasion, length is full, Hales gently clips it towards mid-wicket

2.2 - Irfan to Hales, no run, continuously pegging away on a short of length, this one is slanting away wide of off, Hales looks to cut but only finds the toe-end of the bat through to the keeper on the bounce

Eoin Morgan, left handed bat, comes to the crease

1.5 - Anwar Ali to Root, out Lbw!! What a start this is. First Roy, and now the dangerous Joe Root. His reluctance to come forward ends up costing big time. A good length delivery pitching around off and jagging back a fair degree, Root was pinned on the crease aiming a push to mid-on with a straight bat, the movement beats the inside edge and hits the flap of the front pad. And England lose their sole review as well. Was more in hope rather than anything else. Not very smart. Root lbw b Anwar Ali 0(7)

Anwar Ali to Root, THAT'S OUT!! Lbw!!

Root has been pinned LBW. He however wants a second look. His reaction didn't suggest an inside edge as he looked nervously at his partner. No, no bat. The only question appears to be height. No chance I would say on this sluggish pitch. Yes, clipping the top of leg.

1.4 - Anwar Ali to Root, no run, fraction fuller on a similar line, forward with a firm push to mid-off

1.3 - Anwar Ali to Root, no run, back of a length delivery in the channel, Root hangs back and punches to cover

1.2 - Anwar Ali to Hales, 3 runs, stiff start from Ali. Labouring into the crease, strays on the pads, Hales clips it behind square. Irfan, at fine leg, has a lot of ground to cover. Not ideal after bowling an over. Does well and bends low to stop

1.1 - Anwar Ali to Hales, FOUR, full, too full. Hales leans into the drive, not much feet, cracks it straight of mid-on. The fielder gives chase but doesn't have a cat in a hell's chance on this outfield

0.4 - Irfan to Root, no run, short of length delivery at off-stump, Root rises on his toes and drops it beside the pitch with soft hands

Joe Root, right handed bat, comes to the crease

0.2 - Irfan to Jason Roy, out Bowled!! Boom. Irfan crashes timber with his second ball! And what a ball. Delivered on a good length and angled across from over the wicket, the ball pitches in line with middle and leg stump and straightens a shade, enough to go right through the gate of Roy who had committed on the drive, never in balance as he was on the walk. Goes on to knock over the top of off. Jason Roy b Irfan 0(2)

That's all we have from this game. Just a day's break before the next ODI begins at the same venue. Looking forward to your company then. Cheerio!

Azhar: "I think it was a comfortable win in the end. Didn't quite start the chase well but Hafeez and Azam played well. The way bowlers bowled and fielders backed them up was pleasing. Young blood coming into play. When Azam went in, the team was under pressure and he played very positively and transferred the pressure on the bowlers. He (Younis) has been a great ambassador for Pakistan. Few boys were really emotional when he got out. Lucky that he will still be playing Tests. Great role model for us. Congratulations on a brilliant career."

Morgan: "Quite a few runs light, slipped off at the back end. Lots to pick up to get ourselves back in the series. Cruel to criticize the bowlers today. The dew didn't really affect us. We had opportunities, but a poor day with the bat."

Hafeez: "Youngsters are playing really well. The new ball was doing a little bit. At that time I was thinking to take one ball at a time. Great to contribute for the victory of Pakistan. This game meant a lot for us. One of our legends is going away from us, Mr. Younis Khan. We were pumped to win it for him."

Ramiz Raja doing the presentation honours..

The visitors must have fancied their chances with Topley striking 3 early blows. Got the ball to swing and thud into the pads. Was lovely to watch a classical spell of swing bowling. However, once it got older and stopped swinging, it was going to come down to the spinners to provide the penetration. That is where they lacked. Ali and Rashid never really looked threatening and the pressure wasn't sustained either. Apart from Hafeez, Babar Azam did his reputation no harm. Smashed his way to a fluent half-century. Once the pair got going, it hastened England's doom.

England's misery on this tour continues. The change in format has brought no change in the result. Another convincing loss. In the end, the target proved to be too small. Could have been closer had it not been for Hafeez. Just sealed the deal with a thoroughly in-control ton. Camera pans on Younis Khan who is being hugged by his fellow mates. A glittering ODI career comes to a close. Thank you for the memories Younis Khan!

He is having a chat with his partner for the review, so that's a sign that he's not hit this. No captain, please don't waste the review and thankfully he doesn't. England get the early wicket they wanted. Nothing but a full ball swinging back in, Azhar Ali plants his front foot across the line and tries to work it on the on-side, misses and the ball hits him right in front of middle and off. In fact that is the first ODI wicket for Topley. Azhar Ali lbw b Topley 8(10) [4s-2]

Topley to Azhar Ali, THAT'S OUT!! Lbw!!

1.4 - Topley to Azhar Ali, no run, short of length delivery outside off stump, Azhar Ali lifts his bat and lets it go

1.3 - Topley to Azhar Ali, no run, good leave. Inswinger on a good length, Azhar Ali covers the off stump and shoulders arms. It wasn't too far away from the sticks

1.3 - Topley to Azhar Ali, wide, Topley is not happy with himself, he sprays this past the leg stump again

1.2 - Topley to Azhar Ali, no run, fullish and just outside off stump, Azhar Ali looks to drive, gets an inside edge onto pad

1.2 - Topley to Azhar Ali, wide, now this is down the leg-side, Azhar Ali misses out on the tickle

1.1 - Topley to Bilal Asif, 1 run, edgedddd, but did that carry? Not quite sure, but it was a toughie. Fullish and outside off stump, Asif pokes at it and gets a thick edge, luckily for him it quickly went down on the way to Root at first slip

1.1 - Topley to Bilal Asif, wide, that's way outside off stump, easy call for the umpire

Two slips in place

Reece Topley, left-arm fast medium, comes into the attack

Over: 1 4 0 0 0 4 0 PAK 8/0
Azhar Ali 8(6) Bilal Asif 0(0) Willey 1-0-8-0

0.6 - Willey to Azhar Ali, no run, fullish and outside off stump, Azhar Ali defends into the off-side

0.5 - Willey to Azhar Ali, FOUR, full and outside off stump, Azhar Ali leans forward and drives along the ground, finds the gap between mid-off and extra-cover

0.4 - Willey to Azhar Ali, no run, optimistic shout for LBW, only from behind the sticks though. Inswinger on a length, Azhar Ali works it into the on-side, not sure if the ball hit the pad

0.3 - Willey to Azhar Ali, no run, just a hint of inswing on this fullish delivery, Azhar Ali works it towards square leg

Now there is square leg and short mid-wicket

0.2 - Willey to Azhar Ali, no run, fullish and on the stumps, Azhar Ali defends it to the right of the bowler

0.1 - Willey to Azhar Ali, FOUR, off the mark in grand style. Full and swinging back in, the line was slightly down the leg-side, Azhar Ali clips it uppishly to the right of square leg and it runs away for four

Azhar Ali and Bilal Asif are at the crease. Azhar Ali is on strike. Willey will open the attack
