Mitchell Marsh, the designated No.3 today, struggled to get going while Smith walked out, milked India all around and fell after getting to a fifty off 27 balls. India pleasantly surprised in the last few overs with agility and slower balls to keep Australia from piling up a 400+ mammoth score. Ishant and Umesh ended up with wickets in the kitty while Rishi Dhawan and Jadeja held the run-tap tight despite going wicketless. Australia, bored of chasing totals and winning, opted to bat on another road at Canberra. Ashwin's mysterious absence continued and Sran's struggles meant a return for lackluster Bhuvneshwar who had already been dropped earlier in the series. The start was a horror, with Warner swinging his bat on return and Finch sedately giving him the strike back. Ishant Sharma was brought on to arrest the run flow but could do that only for a while. The score zoomed to 145/0 at the 25-over mark and things looked ominous for India. Warner fell to Ishant ultimately but not before making a fifty and Aaron Finch stroked to his century before giving it away.
