India announce ODI and T20 squad for India vs England series

The India selectors have picked the national squad for the upcoming ODI and T20 international squads against England with the first ODI of the three-match series beginning from January 15.

This is the first time that the ODI and T20I teams will be without MS Dhoni as their skipper.

He had stepped down from the post of India captain on Monday. Virat Kohli was named as the captain of the both teams by the selectors.

The 35-year-old Yuvraj also finds a mention in the T20 squad, which also sees a return for experienced seamer Ashish Nehra.

Rishabh Pant, The 19-year-old Delhi batsman, earned his maiden senior team call-up with the selection committee including the precocious batsman in the T20 squad.

Chief selector Prasad said,

 

You should appreciate the way Yuvraj has played in domestic cricket. He's got 180 on a Lahli wicket. He's done extremely well in domestic cricket and has been given the due chances.

India T20 squad:

KL Rahul, Mandeep Singh, Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni, Yuvraj Singh, Suresh Raina, Rishabh Pant, Hardik Pandya, R Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Yuzvendra Chahal, Manish Pandey, Jasprit Bumrah, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Ashish Nehra.
